Title: Semi's- Bryant at Bentonville
Post by: Razorback Red on November 17, 2017, 09:53:17 pm
Big boy football next Fri night in Bentonville.

Bryant fell behind by 20 and fought back to beat FHS late.  Bentonville played sloppy all night, but won big over Cabot.

There will be some hard-hitting in this one.  I think Bryant will be one of the more physical teams Bville has seen all year.  I also think Bville will be the most balanced team Bryant has seen all year.

I'm guessing this one will be decided by less than a TD either way.

Did Hefley play tonight?

Meaders played the first half. Hefley played the second.

Bryant scored 0 points in the first half. Bryant scored 21 points in the second half. I won't draw any conclusions, but...

I think it will be an all Central final.  I agree it will be close, but I'm taking Bryant by a touchdown.

I will say this, I always thought the central was a better conference this year. It's starting to show.

Bentonville will win. And will win state.

There's a reason why Bentonville and Fayetteville have both combined to win all the titles but one dating back to 07. Only exception was Harbers 09 amazing run.

For the last decade, it hasn't mattered how up or down the 7A has been. It hasn't mattered how good everyone else has been or how down Bennie or Fay has been. In the end either Bennie or Fay has still managed to make it to the end and win it all.

At the start of the season I picked Harber. As the season went on, I thought maybe West or NLR would. Now it's looking like any of the teams could win it all. Bryant has been on fire. And Conway is legit. All 4 of these semifinalists are great teams.
But in the end, just as it's been for a decade. I'm going with one of the Bennie/Fay duo to win it all.
Bentonville Tigers will be your 2017 state champs.

Is that guarantee as good as your prediction that a Central team will not win 5A?

So do you like Fayetteville to beat Bryant in the Quarterfinals?

I would say it's a tad bit better than the no Central champ pick lol

But hey there is still a chance! Cmon Wynne and Nettleton! Lol

I was just about to say the same thing. Sounds more like he wants Bville to win versus being sure they will.

I had Fay picked to beat Bryant yes. But wasn't surprised Bryant won.

Me too. I was at their first game and was impressed with Bryant especially their offense. BV offense will need to take advantage of some potential matchups throughout the game.

Well I don't have a fav 7A team. So there isn't anyone that I "want" to win. If I were to pick who I'd want to win of the 4 left I'd pick NLR.
I've cheered against Bennie and Fay actually these past handful of years. Nothing against them. Just  been wanting to see someone else hold up a trophy in 7A.

But looking how things have played out the last 10 years, wouldn't be a risky bet at all betting on the Tigers.
Definitely gonna be cheerin Bryant on though!

Is this a reverse psychology ploy?

If I pick a team to win they are doomed to lose.  Maybe I see what you're doing.

Bentonville will have to find the gas pedal against Bryant....

The Hornet defense is huge in the front 7 and go sideline to sideline as well as any team that I saw this year other than NLR....

Bentonville will win. And will win state.

Bennie will have find a way through Bryant to have the opportunity to lose to NLR in the State Championship game....

The North Little Rock Chuggin' Kitties will be the 2017 7A State Champion. Book it...

Bryant all year has been a second half team. They can no longer wait for half time to figure out how to play.

Bryant by 2 TD's

That's a bold pick, considering a road game for Bryant.  It could happen as Bryant seems to be the favorite on here, but the Tigers won't go down without a fight.  I expect this to be a low-scoring game, so can't see either team winning big.

Whoever takes care of the ball will win.  I'll go Tigers by 3 in a battle.

Game day and weather is looking great.

I plan on going to see CBB's final game as the Head Hog at 1:30pm and then getting back in time to attend this one.  Hard to beat two football games in one day.

Good luck Bentonville!

I will be the one in blue at the Hog game but I somehow doubt my heart will be in it.  Already fired up for tonight!

I know it's still early. But 24-0 Bentonville.

Like I said. Every title but one in the last 10 years belongs to either Fayetteville or Bentonville. Hard to pick against experience.

Just got home from this game and didn't expect to see what I saw.  First, congrats to Bryant on a great season.  You don't win 10 games without being a very good team, but man they were completely outmatched tonight.

That's as good as I've seen Bville run the ball all season.  Just pounded that big dline of Bryant and made big plays around the ends.  Running game opened up a few big passing plays.  Bryant just had no answers on D, it was a dominating performance by the Bville offense.

I might have even been more surprised on the other side of the ball.  Bryant had some success running the ball up the middle, but that's about it.  Bville pretty much took the passing game away and Bryant QB, when he had time to throw, didn't look healthy to me.  They just couldn't sustain drives.

I was expecting a smash-mouth game, and I know Bryant is a lot better than they played tonight, just a night where everything Bville did worked well.

Looking forward to a fun one next week in the Rock.

What a great game for Bentonville! Kudos to them. They came out and whipped Bryant from the opening kickoff. Hats off to them and I look forward to a great game next weekend in Little Rock.

total domination - it was over after the first quarter

maybe the Bryant QB was still hurt?

He had to still be somewhat hurt. His passes were off target and they barely threw the ball down the field. Credit BV defense too.
