I would think this job will attract some names. Close to Searcy, and a great community. Even trouble at the Admin level, this should get some resumes sent in.

Yeah community support is definitely there, expectations are usually high. Kids always compete well there. Not a ton of talent typically. Could be a great job if administration doesn't micro manage too much & let's the HC do his job but that may not be possible.

Yes. Undefeated in 09 until they ran into that ridiculous Shiloh squad in the semis. 13-1. The next year they went 10-2 with both losses to the state champ and the runner up.

They don't have a ton of playoff wins, no. But they generally compete well and every 2-3 years may have a team that can win conference. With all the community support and higher expectations, it's hard to say they have no tradition.

Like others have said, if Admin doesn't get in the way, it could be a good job.

Reading between the lines, is the "new" Supt. a former HC somewhere in the past in football or other sport, and where did he move from? Wonder what the negative effect he has had on the district? Anything specific?  TU for added info. Know a coach in southeast AR that might be interested but he has no admin experience. Sounds like they are looking for a "combo" person of sorts. LOL

Now, THAT clarifies things a lot! Most women administrators are fair and not over demanding ... usually. Maybe she will hire a female coach to handle the football HC position.. LOL   Thanks for surprising info!

She cowers to anything a parent wants, no backbone. True with every thing in the district, not just sports. Sadly, she probably isn't going anywhere until the school board wakes up and by then the district will be run in the ground.

Newports population isn't declining. With the opening of granges there have been several people moving into Newport. As for CT, he didn't do much after high school, he went to Arkansas Baptist College and later dropped out and now he works at Arkansas Steel in Newport.

Yep, he was a man-child who probably peaked in 9th grade.
