I've heard rumors, heard that this match up was supposed to come this year and fell through. Is there any possibility of this happening in the 2015 season. Also, is there any way it could be pushed to happen? If JC truly wants a test play them. I know Storey will be gone, but I doubt Charleston will be any slouch. Thoughts?

Proud Buckaroo

Smackover and Junction are playing Week1 next season..

Karma 71

Pulaski academy is begging for some non conference games in Arkansas.  They went out of state for a few games this year I heard.   There's your game if you want to put your kids to the test.   I'm sure their coach would accept the invite ! :)

I don't think PA would play that game and it's not because they are scared either

Outloud

They keep saying they(jc) could beat up to a 5a school but i bet you their coach aint looking to hard to schedule any!!!!

Pick_DA_EAGLES

Heck who even wants to see Charleston and j.c. play next year, the loser would only say "well if it was last years team, we would have mercy ruled them."

Karma 71

I bet they would.  Have carpenter call with the challenge.   I'd drive to see it.

True Story!!!!!

Jc should face somebody else from another state like pa, jc should play this school in Memphis if they want live competition. The school name is Trezvant high school ik they will love to the play hughs in basketball.

WPWells

Redandwhite

They play hughs in basketball and ik they will love to play jc. In football

Wolfpack68

To be honest idk what to make of it. Chucktown is losing Storey. But JC is losing Dancy and Bell.

Proud Buckaroo

Junction still has Akhem Gibson(I think that's how the kids name is spelt.) He's pretty talent in my opinion. I can honestly say, I'm not sure who their QB will end up being. Will Junction be able to continue to passing scheme or will they have to go back to power run next season?

Dragon I

Will Smith at QB.  CJ at RB.  Thr freshmen at WR.  Three OL returning.

THA TRUTH

Proud Buckaroo

I could of sworn Gibson was a Junior. I guess I was mistaken. I've heard that Will Smith has a pretty good arm. Just has to work on his under pressure skills.

You must not have read the Charleston threads very closely, they are already a lock to be next years state champion, and probably the next 3 after that just from the residual effects of the NFL caliber team they have their now.

WPWells

No one has ever claimed that and you know it. 12th Man has no idea why you're so suddenly so dead set against Charleston

fbisgreat

Charleston will be looking at 5-5 or 6-4 next year I don't think anybody is saying State Champs.

WPWells

Wouldn't go that far but definitely not as dominant

Proud Buckaroo

That's a big senior class. Smackover will be graduating, I believe 11 Seniors this year.

12th man,
He got this from reading a post I made, taking it completely out of context and running with it.

I stated in that post that every graduating class since 2005/06 has graduated with at least one state championship ring. I also stated that a state championship ring was guaranteed thru the 2015/16 class. That 2015/16 class got one as sophs from the 2013 state championship.

Apparently he took that to mean I was guaranteeing a championship this year and next as well which was not the case.

As previously stated by another poster, Charleston will be down big time next year. They will be replacing more starters and part time starters than any year since 1992.

They'd lose good recruits.

Earle has played Lake Hamilton.  JC's turn to jump up... If anyone will take 'em.

Junction has opened seasons at Henderson twice (Carpenter's alma mater and the stadium is named after his father).  The first time was something I think he worked out directly with Augusta.  The second was a Hootens Classic and was against a team that went on to win the 3A state championship that year.  I vaguely remember hearing somewhere that he wouldn't be in favor of participating in another Hootens deal.  I'm not sure the reason.  He definitely likes working out home-and-homes with larger schools to open a season.

That adds up to 54 kids playing football in grades 9-12 last fall. If there's uniformity in the high participation rates you guys are so proud of, and the 15-25% claim is correct, that adds 8-14 kids to your program. And you don't feel that is a significant advantage?

Nope, enrollment was still that of a 2A school.  Not our kids or districts fault that they participate at a higher rate than yours do.

cuz

Enrollment is still at 2a but JC will move up just to quit hearing all this whining... ;D

Proud Buckaroo

184 is 2A enrollment. Junction had 186. Which is the lowest 3A (public) numbers.

Yep, if only one of the 3A that dropped could have maintained enrollment, JC would still be 2A.

Lions84

I can't wait to retire so I can get to see JC play in person.

BigBrother

JC has 173 but when AAA decided to find 13 phantoms bring it on. At least they will fill a schedule now. If the last spot in AAA had been 243 JC would have had 244.
