Nope, they care more about the swim team than they do men's basketball. I give him 3 years before he leaves after getting Aubbie into the NIT.

Surprise, surprise.

Maybe he'll stay there long, probably not, but I doubt he can change the culture much.  Tennessee is a football school, but they embraced basketball far better than Auburn ever will.  The people down there just don't care about the sport; it's a dead-end job.

Turn the program around, and it's an avenue into a higher profile gig.  "If he can turn a program like Auburn around..."

Of course, if Pearl had simply told the truth, he'd still be in Knoxville.
