Week 6 saw some shockers
Mississippi State sweeps Arkansas, has to be the shocker of the SEC season so far.
Carolina sweeps LSU, maybe not as big of a surprise as the latter above, though still an upset.
Tennessee wins 2 of 3 over A&M, a bit surprised, but the Vols play really well at home, should have gotten 2 over Florida 2 weeks ago.
Florida wins 2 of 3 at Kentucky? The Gators just keep on rolling.
Ole Miss wins 2 of 3 over UGA, big bounce back for Ole Miss, while the Dogs May be turning south a bit.
Mizzou wins 2 of 3 over Vandy, both teams up and down all season.
Auburn sweeps at Bama, doesn't surprise me a bit, I think Bama May be headed for the bottom of the West.
Updated standings:
West:
Ole Miss (10-8)
Arkansas (10-8)
A&M (9-9)
Auburn (9-9)
LSU (9-9)
State (8-10)
Bama (5-13)
East:
Florida (14-4)
UGA (10-8)
Vandy (10-8)
Carolina (9-9)
Mizzou (8-10)
UK (8-10)
UT (7-11)

No big surprises from week 7 of conference play, except for Carolina going to Nashville and taking 2 of 3 from the Commodores.
Kentucky hit a walkoff grand slam today to take 2 of 3 from Mizzou.
Arkansas broke out the brooms against Bama, as expected.
Ole Miss wins 2 of 3 over LSU, that's back to back series losses for the Tigers! Can the Hogs make it 3 next weekend?
Florida wins 2 of 3 over Auburn.
Georgia wins 2 of 3 over Tennessee.
A&M wins 2 of 3 at State.

A few scenarios:
Florida is the East champion and the top seed in Hoover regardless of outcome
Arkansas wins the West with a sweep. If the Hogs don't sweep, Ole Miss must lose at least once at Alabama. Otherwise, Ole Miss wins the West.
Arkansas clenches a top 4 spot in Hoover with a win at Georgia
LSU wins the West if:
1) they sweep at Auburn
2) Georgia sweeps Arkansas
3) Alabama sweeps Ole Miss
12 of the 14 teams make it to Hoover. Mizzou and Tennessee meet in the show me State to likely decide the final spot. Alabama is the only team eliminated from contention.

bulldoghistorian

Well, here we are, the final day of the regular season, with a lot still to be decided.
From an outright West title between Arkansas and Ole Miss to the final spot for Hoover between Tennessee and Mizzou.
Mississippi State will try to pull off an improbable sweep over Florida, Arkansas and Georgia decide their series in Athens, Ole Miss and Bama decide their series in Tuscaloosa, same for Carolina and A&M in College Station, and the same for LSU and Auburn, while Vandy try's to sweep Kentucky.
Scenarios for the top 4 for Hoover:
Florida is the 1st seed regardless of outcome
4 other teams are still technically alive to finish in the top 4 and get a 1st round bye.
If Arkansas and Ole Miss win:
2) Arkansas
3) Ole Miss
4) Georgia
Arkansas would win the west outright at 19-11, Ole Miss would be 18-12, and Georgia would be 17-13
If Arkansas and Alabama win:
2) Arkansas
3) Ole Miss
4) Georgia
Ole Miss and Georgia would be tied for 3rd at 17-13. They didn't play each other, but Ole Miss had the better record against Arkansas than Georgia did in that scenario.
If Georgia and Ole Miss win:
2) Ole Miss
3) Georgia
4) Arkansas
Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Georgia would all 3 be tied for 2nd at 18-12.
Ole Miss gets the 2 because they own head to head over Arkansas, and Georgia would get the 3.
If Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama win:
2) Arkansas
3) Georgia
4) South Carolina
Arkansas and Georgia would be 18-12, while Carolina and Ole Miss would be 17-13. Arkansas gets the 2 do to winning the West outright. Georgia would get the 3, and Carolina would get the 4 do to it's series win over Ole Miss. This would have Ole Miss playing on the 1st day in the single elimination round as the 5th seed.

Last Saturday, Mississippi State was down to its final strike of the season against Florida State in Tallahassee, and Elijah McNamee hit a walkoff 3 run shot to eliminate the Noles and stay alive, eventually winning a regional.
Tonight, he hits a walkoff 2 run shot in Nashville to take a 1 game lead in the best 2 out of 3 super over Vandy!
State is 1 win from Omaha! Wow!

TN Tech goes up 1-0 on Texas.

(It's not SEC but I figure there are folks here whose two favorite teams are Arkansas and whoever plays Texas.)
