Nice thread!!  Dardy fans, just remember that in most peoples eyes the 7 and the 8 are always the best in football!  It was the same way last year until the booneville/dollarway game was played.  Then everyone said... well... wait a minute!  Beat ft lake by a wide margin and it will silence some.  Beat Hamburg handidly and more will silence.  Beat Nashville by any amount and it will quiet the rest.  Unless they find something to blame the loss on!!

Yep for ONE year Booneville threw off the dominance of the 7 and 8 conferences. Bravo

There were no 7 or 8 teams in the semis in 2012.

The "mighty" 7-4A will go 0 for 2 against the woeful 4-4A this week

Dwight Jones (1954-66):  101-44
Ronnie Kerr (1974-77):  29-12

Lots of success since the beginning in 1910. Only 17 losing seasons in 105 years, only 4 since 1960. Also have played in and won the most playoff games in the state. It would be hard for anyone outside of Central or Pine Bluff to argue that they have had more success.

SUGARTOWN

Ronnie Kerr is from Stuttgart, went to high school with my father, he's a good guy. Didn't know that he had coached at Nashville.

Why are fans from a team not even in the playoffs questioning Scrapper Nation? Lol

Also, Stuttgart is in the 2-4a. We are not just talking about the 7 and 8-4a.

Here's a hypothetical question for everybody. Would you rather:

A. Win 7/8 games a year but lose in the 2nd round of the playoffs never threatening for a title or:

B. Win a state title then have a couple of down years before making another serious title run?

I know which I would choose.

mossflyer

This sounds like a thread conversation for the offseason...oh wait...

Would you rather...

A. Every now and then make it to the playoffs and every decade or so compete for a title

Or

B. Go to the playoffs every year and compete for state just about every year and every now and then win 3 straight state titles?

A. Doesn't apply to Stuttgart, this is the first year in the last 18 that we've missed the playoffs.

B.Three straight titles is great, but if you never win any more, then meh....

CatchTheGreyhound!

I feel sorry for Fountain Lake, not because they are not capable of competing, but no one really knows what to make of the Sand Lizards. Are they legit?  No one knows, but FL will be the first to find out!

scrapiron51

Y'all compete for a title once a decade though..

SUGARTOWN

No, we WIN a title once a decade on average. You won 4 four in an 11 year span and that's it.

Back on topic though, I don't think Dardanelle goes out at all, they make it to the finals IMO.

I've been on board since this summer and have been reading for the past couple of years. I have just now started posting because I have waited and have formed an educated opinion over this season. Nashville has five titles by the way, we have one from back in the 60's
Not according AAA. We have heard all about Nashville's "paper championships". This argument has been done several times on here and Nashville loses it every time.

Are you talking about in 67, when they were 10-1, with both polls ranking them number 1?

scrapiron51

I believe you're right about '67. Scrapper Nation recognizes it so that's all that matters lol

scrapiron51

Impressive, good to see so many ties to Nashville around the state!

My family still thrives in Nashville. They are everywhere around there. Lol

scrapiron51

No doubt one of the best communities in the state!

Another difference between the scrappers and the Ricebirds. The birds would have 9 if they recognized "paper championships", but they don't. They only count they ones that were won on the field. The AAA is who holds the official record book for athletics in the state and they say Stuttgart 7 > Nashville 4.

The only fact that should matter comparing Stuttgart and Nashville is that Nashville leads the all time series.
