Well it's that time of year. Board is really slow this offseason.

Thoughts on this game? I think lineplay and defense will be the key to this one.

Warren's offensive line will be a veteran group again. Coach said our depth is very good this year.

Offensive linemen should look about like this.
Senior 6'0 253
Junior 6'2 225
Junior 5'10 230
Junior 5'11 195
Senior 5'8 275
Junior 6'1 270
Senior 5'8 180
Senior 6'4 290

Defensive linemen should look like this.
Senior 6'4 290
Junior 6'0 270
Senior 5'10 190
Senior 6'2 180
And rotate in some of the back up OL when needed

Linebackers should look like:
Senior 6'0 190
Senior 5'10 195
Sophomore 6'1 180
Sophomore 5'9 180
And during big games- 6'3 227

DB's should look like this:
Senior 5'10 160
Senior 5'10 170
Junior 5'9 170
Senior 5'8 150
Senior 5'9 190
Others filling spots in secondary:
Sophomore 5'9 160
Junior 5'11 140
Senior 6'0 150
Senior 5'11 165

Offensive production:
QB- 5'8 150
Unsure of backup.

RB-
Junior 5'9 170
Backups- senior 5'9 190 and sophomore 5'9 180.

WR-
Senior 6'3 227
Senior 5'9 170
Senior 5'11 165
Senior 5'10 160
Backups: sophomore 5'9 165, junior 5'9 130, senior 5'10 165, senior 6'0 150, and junior 5'11 140.

HB-
Senior 5'10 190

Punter/k-
Junior 5-9 175

Warren returns 8 starters on offense and 7 on defense from 2017 state runner up team and 13-2 finish.

AirWarren

Batesville Southside
2017 finish was 10-2
2-4a conference champs.
6 starters return on offense and 7 on defense.

Offensive line should look like this.
Senior 6'0 200
Senior 5'9 210
Senior 6'1 210
Junior 5'10 285
Senior 6'3 265
Junior 6'3 315
Junior 6'1 255
Junior 6'1 300

Defensive linemen:
Senior 5'9 250
Senior 6'0 220
Senior 5'9 195
Junior 6'2 230
Senior 6'3 265
Senior 5'9 210
Junior 6'1 215

Southerners put up a fight, but it won't be enough to slowdown Burks and company. Jacks by 2 td's, at least.

Southside will keep the game close... until the opening kickoff. Only safe place for the Southerners will be on the bus.

bigchief72455

SS secondary will not be able to shut down the Jacks passing attack. Jacks by as many as they want.

SouthernerPride

Burks will get his, but I think the Southerners will make this a fairly competitive game.

Looking forward to lining up against a true blue blood in the 4A.

That feeling will go away by the half.

Come on man. We are struggling to fill spots. Hear Warren may be low on numbers again. Possibly looking at 8 man football.

Warren might win. Jacks will need about a dozen turnovers to stay close. Not sure how those Bradley County boys will generate any offense.

I agree. If you listen to the chatter coming from Southside fans and coaches they plan on announcing their presence with authority against Warren. They are the new beast of the 4A. AirWarren is an entertaining, knowledgeable FF poster. We need to band together to comfort and encourage him after he sees his beloved Lumberjacks laying defeated and in shambles at the feet of the juggernaut that is SS football. Chin up AirWarren, chin up.

After playing Southside, I'm guessing Warren will petition to move down to class 3A.  Or maybe just give up football and concentrate on soccer. Jacks are good at soccer, after all. Chess... how about a good chess tournament?

I haven't been hearing it!  All I have heard is we want a good injury free game for both teams!

It really does strike me as odd that you call yourself a Batesville fan, but you spend the majority of your time on the 4A board bashing the boys south of town..

I have 693 post, about 25 of them have referenced Southside. To you that's the majority of my time? 3.6% is a majority? How proud your SS teachers must be.

Southerners are much improved, great season last year. But they are no match for Coach Bo's boys. Warren rolls in the second half to an easy victory. But I think Batesville South Side wins their conference.

How long has it been since Warren opened with another 4A team?

Never in the Hembree era.

I believe the last time we opened with a same conference opponent was when we played Nashville in non-conference in the 2000 and 2001 seasons. Both were 3A at the time.

Romeo can fact check that though...

Welcome back, BTW.

Think that was the Nonconference schedule those years.

Yeah it's been, I'm assuming, the 90s since we last started out against a same classification foe.

I remember in 2012 y'all opened against Shiloh. I can't remember if they were 4A or not.

Weren't they 5A that cycle?

Romeo

Yep, this will be the first time we've opened the season against an opponent in the same classification under Bo Hembree. Shiloh Christian was 5A when we played them in 2012. We played Nashville in week three in 2000 and 2001 (won 27-14 in 2000, won 76-42 in 2001). The last time we've opened the season against a team in the same class was Hope in 1997 (won 32-14). Ironically, Warren's current basketball coach played for Hope at that game. In the early 90s, we opened against Hermitage for the Tomato Bowl. We played Lake Village in the first game every year from 1970-1990.
