According to your post the 7th but you might consider the byes in your equation....

godgiven999

Top 3
7 has more quality teams as of now
Foreman, Gurdon, Mt Ida, Mineral Springs. Historically Deirks and Horatio have state titles
8 JC, Hampton, Fordyce
6 Hazen, Des Arc, Earle   plus Barton's 90,2000 dominance.
The 7 has 2 back to back state champs and Foreman is favored to win again.
Historically the 8 is the toughest due to JCs dominance mixed with state titles from Strong and appearances from Bearden as well as Rison domination in the 8 as well, when in 2a.

Not gonna say the 6 is the best, but it is one of the better ones in 2a. Top 3 are really good this year but after that its a bunch of cupcakes

you left out Carlisle, they are down right now, but have been pretty dominant in the past.

that's pretty much every conference every year. 3 good ones and the rest are beat up.

Numbers speak for themselves. Plenty of good teams in each one however. Agree. Next two weeks will tell all

cuz

The 8th definitely has more titles and successful runs in the playoff with JC having 6, Strong 1, and Bearden in the semifinals 3-4 times. The 7th comes up yearly with 3-4 teams making deep runs and the 6th 2-3. The other conferences will have 1-2 at the most drawing some attention. The 8-7&6 are going to be pretty tough year in and out so I'd say it's between them 3. By no means am I degrading anyone all are not as traditional in football but do compete well in other sports. He  JC record, from Bleu, for the last 20 years. Don't take this the wrong way I by no means intend for this to be anything other than a record of facts. I fully believe the 2a state championship to be decided from these 3 conferences.
'98 thru '17 Football Record:  219-36 (85.88%)
State Champion:  '03, '08, '09, '12, '13, '14
State Runner-up:  '06, '17
State Semi-finalist:  '01, '02, '04, '05, '11
State Quarter-finalist:  '99, '07
Second Round:  '98, '00, '10, '15, '16

I think there is no doubt all around the 8 owns it.  Top 3 I would say 8 wins. All 7 has left to fight for is the top team

7s 3 just handily beat a 1. Dream on.
Not as handily as the 6's 1 skull dragged the 7's 2. And I wouldn't say they beat us handily

Go to bed 7, you are drunk. You were picked to win,  gurdon was only a 2 point dog at hazen. And got put to sleep.

That Purple Haze D dropped a bomb on the Boom Boom boys.  The only Boom they heard was the fireworks right before Hazen ran out of the Tunnel.

The 6 is kinda like the SEC, a little top heavy.  Hazen, DA and Earle are Bama, Georgia and LSU, Carlisle something like Mizzou and the rest of the league is Arkansas bad.

That's the 7 and 8 are as well

N2DEEP

No specific conference, because every year there are good teams in each conference.

Some teams have great runs either due to great classes, or great move ins, or moving classes (2a, 3a, 4a, etc...).

Mt Ida has had a great class of seniors and they have been successful all of their career, but that have had 12+ all playing since 4th grade.

Hampton, no one talked about Hampton until the Hermitage move ins in 2016, this helped bring kids into the school and the program.

School choice has had a huge impact since players can now pick and choose. Maybe they were a big fish in a small pond at a losing school, but they chose to move and give additional boost to a winning program. Schools like JC with a winning history is enticing to players on fringe areas in AR and LA.

Just curious, what would the 6s rating be if they weren't forced to have Marvell.

That's just proof that calpreps is not very reliable. des arc has beat 3 of the top 4 seed from the 5.

It's just a top to bottom average.  It didn't hurt the 8's average power rating that Hermitage and Woodlawn left the district.

Would not surprise me one bit if the 3 teams in the 6 are in the semifinals

Yall are starting to sound like the 7th. Do a little research and let us know how the 6 & 8 has done against one another the last 10 years, I'm curious.....😄

i think hazen is 5-4 against the 8 over the last 10 years. (including smackover, norphlet, woodlawn, CHG, and the current teams)

um, I think des arc may have a winning record against the 8. take out j.c. and I know they do.  des arc is actually 12-10

so next question. lol  ;D

Bearden_Bear72

I think most people can agree after this week of games we will have a clear view at the conference comparisons and will be able to actually make a edible argument for this year.

I agree with this wait one more week and this will clear up even more.

I think it would be awesome if the final four were all from the 7 & 8.

It will only be the 6 and the 8 after next week. The title game will be A rematch of 2014. No way does Forman struggle with Earle and want any of j.c. and hazen rolls up mount ida

Funny the same guy that was on here this week upset that someone was implying JC was automatically playing Foreman because of a bye is now dissing Foreman implying the same thing.... But we are playing Pick!!

Oh, by the way...remember saying it is WIDE OPEN!!! Same 4 teams that I said would be in the final four are playing!!
