I've heard some things. But I'll let the delta people sort it out.

Also not accurate.  Interviews started Friday with a very good candidate that a lot of folks would love to have.  Phillips has not interviewed yet.

StrongDawg

Monday...Friday. Same thing. :)

minerjack

I don't know of other candidates. But I do know Phillips has the connection with Gragg, having coached Chris while at Warren.

His offense would do well at Dumas.

AirWarren

What is he running now?

minerjack

Wing T, I think.

AirWarren

Dumas would be more competitive with an offense like McGehee.

Bigfan, if you are referring to the candidate from last Friday,
I would agree! Think alot of people hope Dumas heads in that direction

If I'm remembering correctly, he has been at Dumas as an assistant before too.

it would be a big time hire.

AirWarren

According to the book, it stated that the previous coach dismissed 11 players off the team last year.

feedmemore

I think Phillips run the double slot..I read somewhere else a guy was trying to argue the difference between wing and slot..so wingt would be incorrect

minerjack

He runs the slot-slot at Lafayette Co.

I really think he did very early in his career but my memory is fading faster and faster these days.

STUNNA

Yes he did spend some time in Dumas

Made

When he left Dumas he went to Hughes for 1 year then to Lonoke. I didn't know about Warren. Was that before his stop at Dumas.

Doesn't Dumas already have a coach on staff that was previously an 8-4a head coach who may be looking to get back in the saddle?

maxswine

I met a guy last week who was going to be interviewed for this job.  Thanks for keeping us up to date on it and someone update this thread when a coach has been hired.  Thanks.  :)

My thoughts exactly...I told someone that when we were talking about some of the admin changes here last week.  Blair would be the next HC at Monticello and probably after this year if they don't do a complete 180.

There's no reason for Dumas to not be a winning program once again. Facilities, athletes and town support is there. All it takes is the right coach to steer it forward.
