Lavaca is ranked too high. Fairly weak schedule and weak conference, and only 4-4 against teams .500 or better. That said, they did play 5A Alma pretty close until the last few minutes (not really any such thing as a good loss though).

Doesn't bother me.  It'll all play out in the post season.  I do wonder however how Earle is at #1...even with them being the reigning champs.

The Demo-Zet doesn't pay any attention to the lower classifications and who is beating who. I wouldn't waste my time with their opinions.

Earle girls should not drop to five after a loss to Melbourne. I'll admit that I haven't seen Quitman, Danville or Bigelow play, but it is hard to believe that they play at the level of Melbourne or Earle. If this pole is accurate, the 2A is very stout and the state tourney will be fun to watch. My prediction is that we get to see a Melbourne/Earle rematch in the state finals.

I would still have Marked Tree in the top 6 on the boys side.  They lost their last couple of games to good opponents.  But their entire body of work this year is still impressive.  Of course, these rankings don't mean much....it will get sorted out next week.

Danville was a force until Stanley's knee injury.   Bigelow has plenty of weapons. Melbourne, Earle, Bigelow, and Quitman are my top 4.

I think there are around 7-8 teams that have a legitimate chance of bringing home the boys title. This is a well balanced field and it depends on who gets hot this week.
