Just read Cormac McCarthy's The Road. Absolutely couldn't put it down. They've made it into a movie, but I'd imagine it will wind up as dissapointing as most movies based on books but I'll have to go see it anyway.

I said the same thing about No Country after I read the book, but the movie was amazing, although they did take a few liberties. I haven't read this yet, but it's been on my list for a while now.

The movie's getting some early Oscar buzz. I can't believe I still haven't seen "No Country" yet.

I'll try to read this after the semester's over.

Good.   I will take this on vacation with me.  Because all I want to do is read and I need a few good books.

Second favorite book of all time, behind War and Peace. It's that good.

Movie keeps on getting pushed back.

I think Christian Bale is in the movie, correct?

I've struggled with The Road, mostly b/c of my timing in reading it.

Viggo Mortenson.

That's great as far as I'm concerned.  I like Viggo a lot, really good in Eastern Promises.

Mike Bonds

I really liked The Road.  Being the dad of a little boy, this book had me riveted and in pieces by the end.  I don't think I could watch it on the big screen, honestly.

No Country for Old Men was a great book and flick.

I have a small boy too, and I stuggled with that aspect of the book.

From what I understand, some of the more intense, violent, and disturbing scenes have been removed, and I think it's rated pg-13.
