I seen this on 5A board..what years at your school would you like to see play each other? Not necessarily the best teams just good matchups you would like to see. Let's hear it

Skip

Of course for me I would love to see 73 Wolves vs 95 Wolves

Why not anyone in the last 20 years?

macadoshis

I would love to see the 2008 Lamar Warriors vs a healthy 2105 Warrior team.

Skip the 73 Wolves would destroy the 95 Wolves.  No contest at all.  The 73 Wolves were 13-0,  they scored 445 points (34.2 ppg) and gave up 35 points (2.7 ppg) still a school record.  And had 10 shut outs.

At least Prescott has been one of the few teams in 3a that has been a consistent contender for state championships since the playoffs started in 1969. That's more than you can say about your team! Stop being a hater and respect Prescott for being a consistent contender year in and year out! Your jealousy for Prescott is embarrassing for your fellow townspeople I'm sure. Your a very childish person for your age! Lol You don't see Prescott fans hating on your team. Get over it! It's not all about State Championship's anyway!

I am in the wrong classification..... However there isn't one in 4A and I am too lazy to start one so I will go with 2012 Prairie Grove vs. last year's 2015 Prairie Grove. Last year's team was state runner up and finished 13-2. The 2012 team only got to the semifinals, but the semifinal loss was its only blemish on the schedule to eventual state champ Stuttgart. The reason I say there is a debate in my mind as to which team was better is because even the 2012 team that lost in the semifinals had beaten state runner up Ozark 30-6 in the regular season fairly soundly. The 2012 team also only gave up 27 points in the regular season which is unreal. Other Prairie Grove people may disagree with me but I think the 2012 team was equal if not a tiny speck better.

I would go with the 1973 team also! That team had a better defense. They shut out the first 7 teams they played and 0 points was scored on them in the playoffs.

The offensive game was totally different in the 70's with much fewer points, but to not let another team score in the playoffs on you is amazing. That means not even once was there a busted coverage or missed assignment the entire postseason. That is quite a feat because no matter how good a team is usually a mental lapse happens or something over a few games for even the best of teams.

Mayflowers 2008 vs Mayflowers 2014 both state quarterfinals. Would've been a great game.

Yes it was a amazing accomplishment and that was a team you don't see come along very often and thanks for the kind words unlike Free birdie that wants to hate on my Curley Wolves. 😀

idk if those 165 lbs lineman (73)could block 95 size and speed. I know it was a different era so it's hard to compare but 95 backs were all over 180 lbs too. Also I would like to see 03 vs 08 and  12 vs 15

THA TRUTH

Any of the Jc games between the 99,03,08,and 14 squads would be good

Black and Gold

Fred Bird, you may have to help me out. I believe the 2004 Tiger defense allowed 77 points the entire year. I would love to see that defense versus the 2013 Tiger offense. Big difference in what that 04 team would have seen. I know the 4 and 5 wide sets in the gun were not as common back then.

That's very true. I'd love to line up the 6 teams that played for the championship up and have a 6-team tournament, probably with byes to '13 and '14

U mean Brent Stevens???

No sir I meant who I put . Steven and Jordan were like the same player . Good hands receivers, great returners, tall and fast. Stevens would be battling Keiandre on offense if you did head to head stat matchups of who played better

That '04 defense was impressive. I'd also love to see that matchup.

I think jones is better in that matchup he just didn't play hard all the time... Steven as a rb was the better of the two on that position but as far as the linebacker matchup id go keiandre

I do believe the only spread team worth a dang that year was Ozark in the first Franklin County Feud. Which they tied 0-0. The only other teams that tested them were a balanced Lavaca (I think Clay Crowley might have broke a tiger record for receptions in a game held by Wood), Run heavy Wing-T Jessieville, and a stout Rison old school split back.

How much better was the 04 D than the 05 D that won state

AlumniLights

Not much better. The 05 Defensive line was hands down better than 04. Its all about matchups. Johnny's and Joe's. I think the secondary in 04 was better than 05. More speed and athletic ability. If i'm not mistaken FS(bates) and CB(rainwater were the only two who returned in 05 from the 04 secondary. Linebacker play in 05 was great, but the D-line helped them out a lot.

THA TRUTH

Yea we couldn't run on em at all in that semifinal game

AlumniLights

Ya'll had speed too. Easter and Hoof had wheels!

adaptedtigerfan

Alumnilights , was the 04 defense better than the 13 defense?

AlumniLights

Hard to say, I dont know if the '13 defense could have stopped Jessieville or Rison. That '13 defense was dang good though.

fbisgreat

I will say the ChS 05 defense was very good and the offense was ok.ButCharleston had the best kicker in th state that year.
