Salem has 9 wins
M V 2-9
YELLVILLE 4-7
RECTOR 5-5
MIDLAND 2-7
MARKED TREE 1-8
MCCORY 4-6
EPC 6-5
CROSS COUNTY 4-7
DIERKS 3-8
A combined record of 31-62
Not one of the teams Salem beat is playing this Friday. The conference is down this year, EPC is young they are usually in the hunt and injuries killed CC. The CC Salem beat was not the same CC that Hazen and Earle played week 1&3. It would not be a surprise or an upset for Earle to go in Salem Friday night and win. EPC is the only team in the conference other than Salem with a winning record

Earle will come out with a Win
Playing Hazen and DA the last couple of weeks prepared the Dogs to go fight, in the playoffs you would much rather face a familiar foe
I'll take the greyhounds by 2 tds
That record is interesting though

Is Earles QB playing? When healthy, Earle has the most team speed in 2A. If they limp into this one, I think the Salem RB will tear them up.
This should be a good game...

what makes a team well coached?

what makes a team well coached?
My idea of a well coached team is one that doesn't turn the ball over, is disciplined in their assingments all game, doesn't make mental mistakes much, a team that doesn't have many penalties and executes consistently
Turner is very good, but the teams they have played don't have the team speed that Salem is about to see from here on in the playoffs. I think the Greyhounds will beat Earle, but I don't give them much of a shot in Round 3 against Foreman. The Gators will be able to keep him inside and that is the strength of their defense. Offensively, the Gators have multiple kids who are faster than anyone Salem has.

Well according to most everyone in here. Earle had DA out athleted at every position. Yet DA won. What's the difference when a team is going against a superior athletic team? Coaching. Preparing your team, getting your team ready, making adjustments to what has been beating you and so on.
I refuse to go where you were trying to take this.
I'm talking strictly having your team ready to go and at least a few times Earle has ran in to what seem like better prepared teams. And therefore better teams.
You can have all the athletes in the world but if you can't prepare them then you aren't doing your job coaching.

He is good, but No he would not have been a starter on the hill, it's possible he would have some playing time but just not at QB.
If Salem wins this game...their running back will be on pace to break the single season rushing record...which is a little over 3,200 yards...

I believe whoever controls the clock and has the time of possession in their favor will win this game

Yea Earle knows that we have to prepare for him, this is also a rebuttal to all that question our coaching staff. Our Coaches did an excellent job in containment and forced Salem to pass which was not their strategy but this does not take away from Turner. At this point in the game, the team that can reinvent themselves offensively and defensively weekly stand the better chance of victory. Good Coaches know this...

Exactly and your coaches did a good job. Too bad our coaches never learned how to take it to the next level. You wouldn't have been able to contain him any other way. He plays his heart out every game, no matter what position. Always wanted to see how far a team would get if both of the Turner boys could have played together. Congratulations Earle and good luck.

I was rooting for Earle in this one only because I felt that Salem coaching staff was not very classy in some of their wins this season. On film against Dierks they were up 40-0 and still doing on side kicks and running turner to make sure he got his yards. I felt like they were wanting to prove they were a good team but all they did was prove they could only beat up on lesser opponents. They didn't know how to beat teams when they were close games. Good luck to Earle next week as you travel to foreman. These last three rounds definitely will be worth watching and should have some exciting games

I definitely have issues with coaching staff, I agree that they have no idea on coaching at the next level. But those points were gained usually in the 1st quarter, sometimes to the half. So what I am asking is are you saying that Turner shouldn't have played at all or just briefly. Is that fair to him? It is what it is. He had a phenomenal season, and if he and the team had better coaching, they would have gone further. Earle didn't bottle him up completely, he still got in some good runs, and made some great tackles.
