The Citgo.  But then I saw some bellyaching about Citgo on another thread.  Still will by my gas there if I want.  Bought some hot fries and a coke there about an hour ago.  All these little emails that get sent around about boycotting this or that are about as useful as tits on a boar hog.  Like poot in the wind.  1.99 right at any gas station owned by whoever is fine by me.

Let me clairify th situation for you.  Vincente Fox, the president of Venezuela, a country who one of it's chief exports is Citgo oil, called President Bush and the United States, "The devil."  Since that statement made to the general assembly of the United Nations, a bunch of people have started banning Citgo Oil; including the 7-11 chain, nationwide, dropping Citgo Oil in favor of other oild companies which receive U.S. majority oil supplies, like Sinclair Oil.

2.04 about 5 this afternoon..

You are obviously not up to date on your foreign leaders. Vicente Fox is president of MEXICO not VENEZUELA, that would be Hugo Chavez.

PHIL IS MY HERO aka RTVM

chevez is an absolute fruitcake.  Most of our stations are citgo, and it looks like we are about to start rebranding them.  Citgo has already pulled out of 11 states several months ago, including oklahoma and missouri.  many say arkansas is next.

People that helped finance 9-11 are on several American oil company payrolls.
Our own vice president was CEO, and is still an unofficial advisor, of a company that has offices in the capitol of Iran. (Which is illegal since Iran has been named a terrorist state) And their president has said even worse things than Chavez.
This administration doesn't care about socialism or communism either unless it helps their campaign. For Cuba, communism is bad because the Cubans in Florida don't like Castro and won't vote for a governor (i.e. the prez's bro) that will do business with them.

For China (a government that massacred dozens of people on live television just for expressing themselves) on the other hand, communism is ok because it's the largest growth of goods and services nation the world has ever seen. In other words, there's ginormous bucketload of money to be made in China, so disavowing bloody tyranny, nor spreading freedom and democracy, matters quite as much.

BTW, since we're boycotting communists and socialists, and their sympathizers, we should also boycott FoxNews. You must know that its owner, Rupert Murdoch, is also director of China NetCom, the state-owned high-speed internet provider in China called China Network Communications. He's also owner of the first non-state owned TV network in China, but the state still reserves the right to monitor what is broadcast. Meaning that Murdoch is allowing his programs to be manipulated by communists, all in the name of advertising profits for himself and the brutal and murderous Chinese Communists regime.

I now before that you guys thought Fox was the only network that cared about America, but now that you know this, I'm sure you'll understand they have every reason in the world to lie to you. So a boycott is imminent.
Right?

Or are you more interested in holding fast to your previous beliefs out of pride and refusal to admit the wool's been pulled over your eyes, that you'll come up with a reason to continue to support the most communist-friendly network in America.

That looks like something straight off of Kos.

does what the guy's name have anything to do with the topic?  No.  The point is because of Chavez'  statement, the US companies are looking for OTHER sources.

7-11 is was dropping Citgo long before Chavez said anything. That had nothing to do with it.

Besides, I'm almost sure I got an email a couple of years ago, maybe just last year, telling me to only buy oil from Citgo because they got their oil from a democratic nation, and were the only ones that didn't get their oil from one of the middle-eastern terrorist nations.

This whole movement seems off-target to me.
Do we actually care less about terrorism than we do about partisan politics. Chavez is a socialist, but he was still democratically elected in a democratic country?
Has being liberal really become worse than being a terrorist?
Are we actually starting movements and boycotts against liberalism rather than against terrorism?

Don't take this post as supportive of Chavez either. I think some of the things he's done since elected are far right of liberal, and downright fascist. But he hasn't helped anyone fly planes into U.S. structures and kill thousands of people.
Plus, he has stated numerous times that he has no problems with America, American citizens or our way of life. He just has a personal vendetta against Bush for what he perceives as mettling in his country's business.

Let's not lose focus of who our real enemies are.
