As a fan we have seen some crazy things over the years.  What is that one moment or incident you will never forget that stands out the most.  This could be Pee Wee to High School.  Before, during or after the game.

For me it was a Junior High game 7 or 8 years ago at Shiloh vs. Pea Ridge.  I was standing along side the fence on the South end zone and the Pea Ridge fans were very vocal that night.  During that time frame signs, posters, etc were at every game.  I am vocal myself so I responded and as soon as I did it was one of those moments you could hear a pin drop in the stadium.  A couple seconds after I responded a mountain of a man was about ten feet behind me and told me to walk over the other side and say it to their face.  I replied that I would do what I wanted and I would continue to be vocal from the fence.  This guy was every bit of 6'7" or more.  I didn't think much of it until after the game when me and my son were walking to may car and the gentlemen and his family were waiting for me in the parking lot!!!  I sent my son back to the stadium...

I'll pause the story there but let's just say it got interesting...

Hey, that was me, I'm still looking for you!! Just kidding, I am nowhere 6 foot 7, barely reach 5 foot 10. But, I'm not sure who the crazy one is here. lol. You painted yourself into a  corner, in front of your son, so, how bad was the beat down? lol

My story is similar to yours. Except I didn't participate. I let a much bigger guy take care of the situation. Not that I'm scared or anything, well, yes it was. Anyway, we had this very vocal Badger supporter who knew more that the coaches and derided the players when they didn't perform to his expectations. He was so loud the other side of the stadium could hear him. Even though he was a supporter, he was very obnoxious and we were all complaining about his behavior. Soon, the brave guy I was talking about got up and walked up to him. He was sitting on the top seats. The behavior stopped. I asked the brave guy how he got him to stop. He said, "I told him if he didn't shut his f------ mouth I would throw his a-- off the back of these bleachers. Never had a problem for the rest of the year! lol

EVERY school has that guy!!  I never threaten anybody or try to intimidate.  If fact I am the guy who sticks up for other people.  I was bullied pretty bad when I was younger and a runt...  I will however stand up for myself.  We just have to always remember little eyes are watching and be careful what we do...

That is my one of my regrets as a father, not showing restraint when I was a younger dad. Kudos SM!

BM22

I have a couple memories, one quite funny and the other, not so much, at least not at the time.
The first one was when we (McClellan) played at Mills around '83. If I remember correctly, we had just scored, but were still down by 4 or 5 points late in the game. Our onside kick went about 12 yards, bounced toward our sidelines, heading out of bounds. Well, it clearly went out but one of our assistant coaches nonchalantly kicked it back in bounds towards one of our players who jumped on it. The officials completely missed it. Long story short, we go down and score and beat the Comets.
The second one was when I was in jr high. We had finished practice and were all changing out of our pads in the fieldhouse. I got side tracked cause some buddies were horsing around. Well, I walked out of the fieldhouse but had forgot to put my helmet and shoulder pads in my locker. I go back in after a few minutes, walk over to my locker and noticed my equipment wasn't in there so I go to the coaches office and my helmet and pads had been turned in and were laying by one the coaches desk. With my dad being one of the coaches, I figured it would be no big deal for me to go retrieve my stuff. I waited awhile until it was just my dad in there and I said  "hey dad, that is my equipment, do you mind if I get them and throw them in my locker?" He said "Sure, but first, I need you to grab your ankles because that will cost you two licks, one for each piece of equipment. I said " you are serious aren't you?" He then said with a somewhat angered look, "do you want your equipment back or not?"  I said, " yes sir" and immediately bent over and braced myself for 2 very hard licks. I start to walk out with a grim look on my face and then he smiles and sticks out his hand and says, "Nice doing business with you".
You see, I thought I would get a pass but that did not happen. Meanwhile, my buddies are busting out laughing at what had just transpired. Lol. Great memories, nonetheless.

a few highlights from that game:

17 called UNS/PF penalties (3 on first drive)-Late in the game, there were 3 on one play
1 SC fan (male) handcuffed and escorted out by LRPD
Double birds (the finger) flown toward home stands by SC team
LRPD dispatched all free units to the game (a LRPD veteran officer told me he could only remember one other time when as many patrol units were sent, and that was for a riot type situation in a rough part of town)

Ah, the memories...........

Lol.. yeah, I recently talked to one of my high school coaches (he is long retired and about 77 years old) and we laughed reminising about that onside kick.
Yep, gotta love corporal punishment. Kept us in line in the fieldhouse and classroom, though. Dad had an "ole Woody" at home as well. Lol

This is going to be a hilarious thread!
My short time on here and I don't post much but this should be amusing.
I've watched pee wee through high school and we all can relate to some calls that are truly questionable from our friends in stripes.
At the end of the day, we are all a very passionate fan base of the game!  Win or lose it is what is is!  I pray for all of our fans, athletes, coaches, referees, and all to do what's right!  We all have challenging jobs and hope that all is seen as positive views in life!

After a loss in 7th grade we weren't allowed to talk on the bus ride home. We had been, and the head coach, who was also driving the bus, jumped on us about it with some choice words. We pull into the school parking lot and he's backing up right towards his own car and we jump up to tell him and of course he doesn't listen he just screams for us to shut up! Well you know what happened next! It was really hard getting off that bus without laughing!

Booneville vs Charleston Jr High. Chippy game with lots of gouging, late hits and etc. Late in the fourth there was a fumble and an ensuing dog pile in which i managed to get the football. While at the bottom of the pile I seen a fat rear end directly in front of my face mask. Seeing my chance, with my free hand I raised my mask and bit as hard as I could. It was excruciating.

I can relate to this to a degree. I left all my pads for my pants out one day after I had already gotten into a fight that day as soon as I got to school. So I had to drag one of our lineman who was 407lbs on a sled for a 100yards for the fight, and then 10 yards for each pad that was left out. So I had to drag him for another 70 yards. It took me 2 hours to drag him a total of 170 yards. Never got in a fight again and never left my pads out again. 😂

Oldbadger

I have another story. When Arkadelphia was playing Ashdown for the conference championship I was told by our coach I would play a lot that game and might start. It was the last game of the year and he wanted to give some underclassmen playing time in preparation for next year. I was very excited. We had warmed up and returned to the locker room prior to going back to the field. I went over to the window of the wood frame structure Ashdown relegated to the visiting team and shouted. "There are no lights on the field, they are all out!" Most  of the players dashed to the window and began to peer out to see what had happened. Then, a senior player looked at me and said, "you idiot, the windows are painted black"! That wasn't the end of my humiliation, the school paper featured my story on the front page next week!lol

You ran away screaming from me is how I remember it

Overdahill

This happened a long time ago in another state but here goes:

My senior year in HS we had another senior, a starting Offensive Guard (Jim), jump offsides 2X in one game. Our Head Coach (Tex) cut him mid-season telling him/us that he was too stupid to play for us.

At our next home game, Jim was in the stands with a megaphone and start leading the following cheer for the crowd:

"Gimme a T, Gimme an E, Gimme an X, Who Blows Out the A**? TEX

We all just about got hernias trying not to laugh out loud on the field or sideline lest we end up on coach Tex's list  ;D

Full-get-it

Wow he was a starting guard and got cut ?? That coach was an rear if all the player did was commit 2 penalties. He must have thought something of him; he made him a starter.

STUNNA

I remember beating #1 ranked PA 46-0 my senior year. During the game Greg childs intercepted a pass at defensive end and returned it 50+ yards for a touchdown and dunked the football through the goal post!! Probably that maddest i had ever seen Hembree get during my high school career... lol

SouthpawSensation

I've got one, and this happened several years ago ... on the last play of the game.
Team A trails by 4, but it has the ball around Team B's 40 and completes a pass. The receiver gets a break and dashes into the end zone as time expires ... but while this is going on, a member of each team is near midfield, trying to throw haymakers at each other.
The referees threw the flags, called offsetting penalties and immediately made a dash for the fieldhouse ... game over!

I always thought that was an "I'm going to make it look like I'm mad, but that's one of the greatest plays I've ever seen" kind of a deal.  And for what it's worth, that was one of the greatest plays I've ever seen.

Coach Conaway was an assistant at Shiloh at the time, and when I started working here, he told me that they played Warren in the playoffs that year and had that game on film.  He said they cut that play out of the film so the players wouldn't see it and realize how great the athletes they were about to play really were.

that play was the play that i really realized that child's would be playing at a very high level one of these days! Crazy to think that none of them played receiver much on that time. But man they were good on defense. That same game jay Wright absolutely annhilated one of their slot receivers running an out route.

Crazy things I have seen
Fall of 89, Gosnell and Westside have an all out brawl. Helmet's off and total chaos. Back before all the new rules. Nobody was ejected. Now days both teams wouldn't have been allowed to play the following week.
1989 Same year Gosnell head coach punches a referee in the face in a game against Harrisburg.  That year Gosnell receives the sportsmanship award from the AAA.

Oh, he probably did, lol. Now days football has been watered down some. This year I witnessed several just good good football hits be called personal fouls.

2005 season, playoff game, Pulaski Academy @ Osceola.  Cars were parked outside the fence and facing the field.  When PA's offense was on the field, the headlights would be turned on in attempts to impair the vision of the QB.  Finally after multiple requests from the press box and the threat of penalties being assessed, the lights would be turned off (albeit temporarily).

HS FB Fan

My senior year 1985 we start off the year with a loss to Forest City and then 1st round of the playoffs we end up back @ Forest City.  As we are heading in to town there are signs everywhere stating we built this city on 10-0.  Late in the game we are leading and on offense as we happen to look up and a gentleman has jumped the fence and was heading toward our huddle. He threw his bottle at us and made a run for the end zone. We took off in chase and there was a battle over in the corner of the end zone from players / fans / coaches. Needless to say when the game was over and we won Joe Fred Young told us all to stay dressed, grab our stuff and load the bus. We had a police escort all the way to Brinkley that night heading back to the Fort.  Crazy night and definitely a game you don't forget.

Oldbadger

Been so long ago it's hard to remember but, in 2017 Arkadelphia was playing Warren in the State Championship game and with less than 30 seconds left in the game, the Badgers leading 28 to 27 and Warren threatening inside the 20 of the Badgers, a Warren fan walked casually onto the field right into the Warren team formation. Refs called a timeout just as several security officers from various agencies responded and tackled the intruder. Ironically the tackler was a woman who was originally from, of all places, Arkadelphia. This was crazy enough, but what were the refs to do? Nothing could be done that would seem fair to both teams so they did the best they thought they could. They penalized the Lumberjacks 15 yards, added time on the clock. The next play the Badgers intercepted a pass and game was over. Will be talked about into the ages, but definitely one of the craziest incidents in history made more important because of the fact it was a State Championship game.lol
