This may be the most pointless thread I’ve ever seen.
And yet you chose to post.

IF you choose to stand up....go to your coaches and continue working on game plan. Show respect. If you kneel for them, great.

When Ty Storey was hit the first time against ole miss, ole miss players were jumping around, dancing in front of him, laughing, mocking the crowd. That is garbage. The coaches were allowing it too. That is pathetic.

If you kneel you get blasted by old white people for kneeling? Doesn't it mean you hate our military? It is all so confusing.

Exactly. "Kneeling is a sign of respect"....unless it's done by that "Colin guy" (never mind the fact that it was military man who suggested Colin kneel), then it's disrespectful. Folks need to make up their minds.

I stand for the anthem.
I place my hand over my heart during the anthem.
I clap for kids when they are helped off, walked off, etc when they are injured.
I say Merry Christmas.

Da Truff

I don't remember ever seeing anyone kneel at a basketball game when a kid gets hurt, don't they go to their bench and sit while being coached up?   I've never understood why people take offense when a team doesn't kneel.  Watch any College or Pro game and tell me if entire teams kneel when a player goes down.  You don't have to be on a knee to be respectful.

Who talking about basketball? This is a football thread.

It was a comparison, why do you have to kneel in football when its acceptable to not kneel in basketball.

Coach Jones

I played 20 something years ago, and I don't remember it being common for anyone to take a knee.   But I tell you what, if you don't now you will get the full anger of the crowd.   By the way, we always take a knee.

KASH dba The Lumberjack

Yeah, a sniveling prima donna kneeling against a flag that protects him so he can protest a falsehood that never effected him to begin with is equal to players kneeling for an injured player. Not seeing the connection.

conservatives?

Nobody in this country is or should be oppressed. Opportunities are endless. "Setback" folks from Maine to California to Florida to Washington have the ability to go to college for free. No better time than now to get off your arse and go to work. With or without college.

The only oppressed people are the people who choose to remain oppressed.

You're such a misogynistic, racist, bigot. How dare you spew this hateful vitriol against a true gentrification plight. With this kind of rhetoric, you must be one of the rural voters that caused this! Obviously you don't see the BIG PICTURE here due to your intolerant ways. The guy that said says Twitter is censoring free speech? Twitter, Facebook, etc have the right to censor whomever they want. Even if you and I don't agree with it. Free speech is protected from GOVERNMENT censorship, those companies are not the government.

So congrats, now you see how minorities have been treated and are still being treated throughout this country's history.

First hand knowledge here. Not what I have read or heard from the Arkansas Times. I have evidently walked this "minority setback" every day and so has my dad. It's amazing what hard work, good choices will do for someone. Not hiding behind a race card because "someone told me I was setback" for generations.

How are you helping minorities out in LR? Don't you live in WEST LR? I know of some housing property out of Daisy Bates Drive that is for sale really cheap. You know, get out in the middle of the minority community and really make a difference like you say you want to?

LOL. Tell my wife that garbage. A woman that put herself through college with student loans...not grants. Bought her first home BY HERSELF in 2009. Has her masters that SHE PAID FOR....and now makes about 2k a year more than me. I work in a profession with 100K a year women....minority and white. Single and married. Many of which are the bread winners.

The CEO of my employer...woman. You think it was given to her? Nope. You think she got it by working as a cash register a McDonalds....nope. You want...you earn it.

SUGARTOWN

And those are 2 examples. My wife makes more money than me, but that doesn't change the fact that in general women are paid less than men...and sometimes paid less for doing the exact same job. If you don't see that's wrong I can't help ya.

I have thousands of more examples. But what is the sense is arguing with you?

I mean...what do I know....I am the minority here not you....I am being told that I am slighted against every day in this country by you....and that I don't have the same opportunities as the Caucasian guy that lives in WLR and that he feels sorry for us so he feels the need to stand up for me......YET somehow I made it. Nothing to do with great grades in school, college, hard work and choices??

And that women can't and aren't capable of making the same or more wages as a man like myself yet the CEO and entire upper management of my company is composed of all women and the company is made up of 75% women who make really high wages........Oh and that my 1 example wife....anomaly.

Please, keep speaking for an underserved minority(ies)....my wife included). I am always open to encouragement from the privileged.

Me and my beautiful tan skin.....and my beautiful ovary filled wife thank "vibes" every day for caring stand up liberals like yourself, sugar. We wouldn't have made it without you.

Sugartown this is completely inaccurate... This is what is scary to me.  People actually believe this.  It is the influence of simply which garbage media outlet you decide to influence and provide your thoughts and opinions for you.  Anecdotally AW and even yourself admit in your cases it isn't accurate.  I ran a large company with 500 direct reports and it wasn't true.  I have 2 small companies now and it just so happens my highest paid employees are both women and that is because they do a better job and therefore are paid more.  It is illegal to pay women less and that has been law since the 60's.  Not to mention in a captolism market if women were paid 20% less they would be targeted and in high demand from companies to have a competetive advantage.  When you peel away the studies and data in several catagories women are paid more than men.   Also in areas they show they are paid less when you strip overtime out it is within a percent.  Also women have babies and stay home with children more than men,  that is something to be proud of and much more important than climbing the corporate ladder...  Take this out of the data in these catogories and again it is within a percent....

I have two young daughters, why in the world would I ever want them to believe or even think along the lines of some false narrative that they are worth or paid less when it isn't true....  It creates a fasle sense of less value and/or a dangerous entitlement mentatlity.
