With tonight's win at West Fork, Coach Josh Jones became the all-time winningest head football coach in Lamar high school history. (This is based upon the best information we were able to obtain, as Lamar evidently had discontinued football back during the Depression, and we do not have the records prior to that.) After an unimpressive history for the school dating from the mid-60s, Coach Holland was able to get things moving in 2006 with four straight winning seasons, peaking at 11-2-1 in 2008 and finishing his term at Lamar with 51 wins.

Coach Jones took over the reins of the Warriors in 2012. Tonight was win #52 for him at the school, which moved him to the top of their coaching victories list. His career head coaching record is now 102-58.

Since Coach Jones already occupied the spot as the winningest coach in Magazine history, he has joined a pretty exclusive group of coaches who hold the career wins record at more than one school. Needless to say, it is quite an accomplishment for a coach to have the most victories at any school. Doing it at two schools just does not happen very often.

Congratulations, Doc. We are very proud of you.

That's pretty cool.  Have enjoyed following his career.

He not only is a good Xs and Os man, but he can get kids to play for him.

If he could only get as much out of his rabbit dogs as he does his players!
