When is state indoor for the smaller classifications for you all? If I can make it to 5A-7A that's great, but I'd much rather go to 1A-4A...
Tentatively set for February 23 1A-4A and February 24 for 5A-7A.
Hope the Paris female sprinter shows up. Could be special.

Thank you as always for the info....
You bet! You know track and field is my favorite..........
How many female pole vaulters this year, RATTLER? 30? ;)
Is everyone healthy this year and who do you think is the 2A favorite?
Two over 8' and a rookie right now. We are back in the 2A-4 West where we belong. Cost us dearly last year as Quitman girls cost us sooooo many state entries. Quitman girls are definitive favorites. I'll say Caddo boys even with losing a few scorers. Duggan returning for senior year..... Lafayette is a good bet along with Earle to battle for Runnerup. I'm hoping my boys move up into top tier this year. We've not been top 4 at state since 2014. Mainly 9th and 10th with a few strong juniors so I'm hoping for a strong run.
The Arkansas track teams went up to Ann Arbor to experience Michigan's new indoor facility at a quad meet with 3 other Big Ten schools (Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota). It was a great experience. There was a team score and the men finished 3rd (I don't think they were trying to win the team score) and the women finished 2nd. Here's the results:

I made it out to about 2 hours worth of events last night at the Razorback Invitational and on my way to watch a few more hours right now.... It will be aired on SEC Network from 1 to 4 o clock. Some big dogs were there like Texas A&M, LSU, Florida, USC, Florida State and some Big 12 schools along with plenty others. There were some good showings, but especially in the women's 200 were some competitive races.
Yes. Wish Stumbaugh-Chadwick and Georgia gal, Irby, had been in same heat.
Taliyah looking great in multis!
Did you get to watch women's PV and men's long jump?
I planned to attend today and worked on my land until just now. Enjoy. WPS

I got to watch the mens PV and it ended up being a dud haha.... But the mens long jump was awesome and had some really great competition and level of athletes in it. I am going to try my best to make it to the Tyson Invitational as well if I can.

Impressive times!!
The women sprinters this year for Arkansas may make this a force to be reckoned with if our distance girls come along.
We are somewhat weak in field events, but have some stuff going there.
Most of our points will come on the track and pole vault. We are like the anti-Georgia.

The women sprinters this year for Arkansas may make this a force to be reckoned with if our distance girls come along.

The womens sprints were awesome to watch this weekend.... I plan on being at the indoor Friday the 9th and 16th for the next 2 meets here in Fayetteville as well as trying to catch the 1A-4A state meet the following Friday the 23rd. I went this weekend for the first time in years and it made me realize what I was missing. People that do not follow this sport don't understand the fitness level of the high level college track athletes.
"People that do not follow this sport don't understand the fitness level of the high level college track athletes."
This is so true. Great sport with great athletes pushing themselves to the limit. My daughter runs at the next level (not at the level of the athletes we are discussing here) and the workouts are incredible. She mentions all the time that she thought she was working hard in high school until running at the collegiate level. But I have gotten to watch her compete against SEC athletes (along with great athletes elsewhere; meets including National Champions from Ole Miss, SIU, SFA, among others.) for past three years. What a treat! World class athletes are unreal.
AT, give us some updated NCAA rankings so we can see where our beloved Hogs are at this moment in time.

Thank you for the update. Ladies could be really good by end of season. Men are still a bit of a question mark as to how good they really are. Could be top 5 and could be out of top 10.
Women are #2 again; men are up to #5 after dropping to #7 last week. SEC is again powerful filling up most of the top 10. Oregon women.......

Did not know you add a daughter running in college. That is awesome.... I always enjoy seeing kids from small classifications get to the next level in any sport.

I think as I believe AT posted.... if those distance runners can come along like we always expect this could be a special special group.

Thank you; yes. My pics of her running vs. LSU, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Tenn, etc. runners with a big ol' SEC sign in the background......
I have been really blessed. She and her older sister were each state champions with the younger leading our team to the title. Favorite moment: She overcame Marmaduke anchor runner in 4x800m after getting baton 100 yards back (2:20s). Also proud of her when she was part of school record for 4x800m relay running at a meet in Memphis. I'll stop now. I can gush on and on.
The men have a few no shows for whatever reason right now:
Travonn White - Long Jumper that could score at nationals
Alex George - Good Distance runner, could score somehwere nationally
Carlton Orange - 800 meter specialist who has scored at nationals before
Kenzo Cotton has ran once, but seems to have a hamstring problem right now. Hopefully it doesn't hold him out this indoor season.
If we get all 4 of those healthy, the men could be a great team, but I doubt we do.
We'll see.
60, 200, and 400 can be held down (nationally wise) by healthy Kenzo and Obi.
800 needs to be Carlton's, but I don't know if we will get him.
1 Mile/3K/5K can be combo of Bruce, George, Griffith
Hurdles - The Shattoo guy may not be NCAA scorer, but he's the closest we will have.
I think the 4 x 4 relay will have enough good guys to choose from. So will the medley.
High Jump...not sure we will have a national scoring hj.
We haven't had a national pole vaulter since Irwin graduated.
Nairn is holding it down in the long jump and triple jump. Schrage in the long and Owens in the triple could help out if they breakthrough. Travonn White would help in the long.
Sullins in the weight throw has made a name for himself, but I don't think he's a national scorer.
Moore has put himself in the conversation of scoring in the national meet in the hep.
Also, Kemar Mowatt is a great athlete, I mean he medal'd at worlds in the 400 hurdles.
I don't think he is quick enough for the 60 hurdles, but I do wonder if indoor 400 dash would still be his calling card. He ran a great time last week. Maybe he has a big breakthrough race since he doesn't run it much (without hurdles that is)
Coaches are probably taking time putting Kemar back in after a long outdoor season last year. They tend to do a good job of not over exhausting the athletes. They did the same with Lexi last year.
Agree with every statement. Getting healthy is paramount.
Can I load a photo? If so, how?
Sounds like you got some hard working kids Rattler.... And at some point maybe some good genes passed down from mom and dad? ;D ..... And I usually have zero problems uploading photos on here but lately when I try they won't come on. Maybe we will have to inbox Go Postal cause he is the expert photo guy on here and expert isn't even describing his uploading of photos abilities.
Well, my wife is probably the best basketball player to come out of the school and her brother was a great athlete as well. Her uncle was basketball player for Westark. Her aunt is the school's second all-time leading scorer. My brother was in two district record-setting performances (sprint relay and 100m dash). Now, this is all small school stuff but nonetheless pretty good stuff. Three of my uncles were incredible :o with one playing AAA baseball in the Astros organization, one being an MVP of Texas All-Star football back in the day, and the other being a sprinter on a Texas high school team that won multiple state titles in his years. They were at large Texas schools. Then into the marines. When I would go to my grandparents' house and see that State MVP trophy, it just created a white-hot fire in me to be great. I was an above average athlete at best. The girls did get my work ethic though! ;) I am really proud of that. 8)
If Go Postal gives you an answer let me know. It will upload my link to photos in photobucket but not the photos themselves. Frustrating.
Good stuff, guys.
Just wanted to say if you look at the Razorback women's team, they have a strong team. A team that will compete for the national title.
Georgia is scary now that they have some runners, but they did lose all everything Kendell Williams.
Oregon is scary of course, even with all their losses.
If Baylark can be a national scorer, that'd be great.
RATTLER can attest to this, but it is weird to see Arkansas women without a stud 400 runner. It looks like Burks Magee is trying, but we may not have one this year. That event has been our calling card over the years on the women's side.
The 800 has Nikki, but she may focus on the mile.
I think Werner will focus on the mile or the 3K, but probably not both. We have some other girls who are on the verge of being national competitors, but need a breakthrough before I can say for sure. Not sure if we will have someone go for the 5K. Devin Clark is one to watch for.
The hurdles is interesting. I'm not sure if Chadwick or Brooks will run the hurdles or not. A new girl named Janeek seems to be pretty good at them, too. She could be our hurdler.
I think our distance medley relay will be fine once we put our A-team out there. The 4 x 4 scares me without any stud individual 400 runners, but we may just put our best athletes on the team and try to cobble a national team together.
Once again, Taliyah is our best high jumper. We will have to see if we would put her in it.
Pole vault is held down by Hoggard, Jacobus (formerly known as the Weeks twins) and Freier. Those 3 all scoring at the NCAAs would be huge.
Long jump chances lie with Payton and Taliyah.
We aren't going to have athletes in the Triple Jump, Shot Put, and Weight Throw.
Heptathlon has Taliyah, but I'm not sure if Payton is going to do it or focus on individual events.
Missing person case: Kelsey Herman
Anyone know if she is injured or what?
Agree with 400m MIA. I saw a pic with Kelsey in hurdles with Chadwick. Results show dnf. Just not sure. Incredible athlete yet to reach potential. Might place three in pentathlon. Love pondering how to beat Oregon and Georgia.

Another thing fun to talk about is how thin can we streth Payton and Taliyah? Payton is so good at some of these events, I almost wonder if she can optimize her points by not doing a hep.
I think Taliyah is too good at the hep to take her out of it. But can you stack a LJ and HJ on top of that? Or maybe even a 60 hurdle?

Interesting, RATTLER. Maybe they are just bringing her back slowly from an injury.
Can we talk about the incredible season Payton is having?
She is a national competitor in the 200, 60 hurdles, and Long Jump.
Order of events and conditioning will play major roles in those decisions. Payton looks up for anything right now. She's been unreal.
I know. She has returned with a vengeance from that injury. If she leads us to a title, she moves into Lady Razorback lore as an all-time great.

Haven't heard anything Rattler, but she ran that 200 meters later, so hopefully it wasn't anything serious. We need her. She may be the X-factor in our national title run.
Should also be noted that Nikki went and ran the Wanamaker Mile at the Millrose games:
1 Mile Run
9. Nikki Hiltz - 4:33.44 (PB)
Great weekend for gearing up for Tyson. I still can't decide what they are going to do with Payton. At this point, you could turn her into a sprinter/jumper almost.
Taliyah had a great long jump. We may need her to do Hep and Long Jump like she did in outdoors the year we won.
Like Rattler said, Burks Magee had a breakthrough race.
4x4 - Payton, Morgan, Baylark? Parker?
Ready to see our A team on the Distance Medley.
Pole Vault is outstanding.
Wow! 4:33 is so incredible. We could make a run at this!

Early still yet, Rattler, but where do you think our national points will come from? What are you looking for?
I'm seeing 60/200 - Jada maybe. Low chance, but higher than I thought earlier
400 - Don't think we can put Payton here and I don't think Morgan is there yet.
800 - Maybe Nikki? She needs to focus on the Mile, though.
1 Mile - Nikki top 4 hopefully. I think we'll put Werner in the 3000
3000 - Werner. Not sure where. Top 6 would be nice.
5K - We'll see
60 H - Can we afford to have Payton and Taliyah run this? Will depend on order of events like you said but if one of them could make it to the finals and just get a point.
4 x 4 - I'm looking for a trip to nationals for a chance at a top 8 finish
Distance Medley - Always a wild card event, we need to maximize points here.
High Jump - Taliyah maybe. She's stretched thin, so I won't expect it.
Pole Vault - Lexi, Tori, and Desiree need to combine for at least 15 points, probably closer to 20.
Long - Taliyah or Payton? Asking a lot of them
Triple/Shot/Weight - Won't have it.
Pent - Taliyah top 3, Payton maybe? Can she maximize points by doing this?
I agree with all. I think we stretch Payton thin and double some distance runners. Kelsey may show up just in time for pentathlon too. Will wait and see what coaches put together. But for now it really is coming together.

Good news, Rattler:
http://www.arkansasrazorbacks.com/no-6-arkansas-prepare-for-home-and-road-battles/
According to this, Kenzo, Alex George, and Travonn White are all supposed to compete in the Tyson. Well actually it looks like Alex is going to Washington to run in their big distance event.
Also a high jump recruit we haven't seen yet is competing that looks like he could be a national competitor. I think this weekend will tell us how competitive the Razorbacks will be on a national scale.
Love it! Hogs putting it together. I can't wait.
I did not realize I was sitting right next to none other than.... Carl Lewis last night. He started going nuts and running down the stairs from the top row when the guy from Houston won the 60m and I looked at the person I was with and said " we have been sitting right next to Carl all night and didn't even realize it we were in our own world so much"....
Impressive. Considered by many to be the greatest track and field athlete ever.

I definitely see why his connection to the school does some self recruiting to the University of Houston in the sprints and some field events... Not really a hard sales pitch when Carl Lewis is around as an assistant.
Yes. Their sprinter won the 200m as well.

Jah-Nhai PERINCHIEF Went 2.22m (7-3¼ )
Field events were great efforts tonight all around.... Our women's DM relay was finally on track to hit a solid time, but we had our 3rd leg in the 800m go down with about 50m left before she was going to pass to the miler. It was not good cause I heard something pop.
I really enjoyed that Qualifier meet cause it featured some great athletes from even DII and NAIA at the highest level in those divisions.

Our jumpers really surprised me. Sorry to hear about any injury.

Wish I could remember the name of her.... And the 200m guys were good. One guy from USC was absolutely blazing. Always good to see a Harding runner there too. I am sure he will fair well at DII nationals. He won the 3K tonight.
11:02 DMR at Notre Dame today!
Not Razorback track news but how about Christian Coleman going 6.34 in the 60m in Albuquerque at the Indoor Nationals.

I'll do SEC women later, but my projections are this for SEC Men:
Arkansas - 121
Florida - 82.25
Alabama - 70.75
Georgia - 66.75
Texas A&M - 65
Kentucky - 62.5
Ole Miss - 44
South Carolina - 32
LSU - 27.5
Auburn - 26.5
Tennessee - 25.75
Miss State - 21
Missouri - 18
I like it.
Crazy to see a school like LSU down that far projected...
Speaks volumes about how difficult it is to stay toward the top and how the Razorbacks have been able to do just that even with coaching change.
Rattler and Beach, are you guys getting your hopes up about the men winning an NC? It doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility. Their team strength has skyrocketed these last few weeks
Yes. I can't help myself. I love always being in the mix.
I think we are going to do it... We have a lot of upper classmen that I think want to end their career on top.
A little later than I expected, but SEC Women's projections:
Arkansas - 118.5
Kentucky - 87.5
Georgia - 81.33
Texas A&M - 64.5
LSU - 56
Missouri - 50.5
Florida - 44
Miss State - 41
Ole Miss - 31
Tennessee - 27.5
Alabama - 23.83
South Carolina - 20.33
Auburn - 12
Vanderbilt - 5
Coverage of the SEC Championships from College Station will be on SEC Network Plus from 3-7 today.... I'm not even going to turn the channel when the Hog basketball game comes on at 5 cause I don't want to be disappointed watching that road game at Tuscaloosa .... I'll keep it tuned on track to keep my Hog spirits up ;D
Amen!
Update on meet?
Hogs looked great except men's and women's long jump. Women lead after day 1. Men in 4th. Griffith and Bruce broke sec record in 3000.

Got to love Bruce.... Also, saw where in the women's pole vault and 3K alone in those two events we got 30 points. Lot's left for tomorrow.
Agreed. Can't wait.
60m hurdles! Burks Magee and the Lady Razorbacks looking strong. Men are in a battle but looking good. Kenzo!
Ladies trying to hold off Georgia. Men are out of it. Alabama may win it!
Maybe not. That DMR win! Got to go top two in 4x400.
Women are unofficially SEC Champions! Men are down 7.
Alabama just gave us a chance in the men's. Have to run out of our minds and win it or get 2nd.
Men don't do it.
The 5K killed us. Alex George not starting is what did it.
Why did he not run?
Quote from: RATTLER43 on February 25, 2018, 08:45:40 pm
Why did he not run?
No clue. We didn't put Bruce or Cameron Griffith in it either, but to be fair, Coach Bucknam might have saved them for the DMR.
Jah-Nhai didn't triple jump today either. Some strange choices today. Alabama just was the better team the past two days.
Laquan not placing in the long jump and Travonn White (I guess injured?) not jumping hurt us too. You have to be healthy to win these meets. Congrats to the Crimson Tide.
By the way, the 4x4 is under review and there could be an argument made that our 4 x 4 runner on the 2nd leg was cut off majorly. Not sure anything will come from it.
Agreed.
For those lurking, Arkansas Women have won the team title. Men will get 2nd unless someone is DQ'd after reviewing the 4 x 4 footage.
Haha, the wrong team was DQ'd for us! LSU WAS DQ'd in the 4 x 4 for cutting us off, but that's the team we beat! Still, winning on a technicality is never as fun.
Arkansas will be SEC runner ups.
Cotton in the 60 was awesome....

Top 5 finish for each. Not enough qualifiers in enough events I think. Missing relays is huge.
If we get a title out of those qualifiers, it will be a masterful job of coaching and impressive performances by the athletes.
WPS!
Going to take some really tip top performances to get it done.... We will see.

So glad to have this weekend free cause I'll be watching this plenty this weekend..... NCAA Indoors then the opening round of the NCAA basketball tournament back to back weekends is setting up for some great sports entertainment in a 2 week span.
Great stuff, beach.
I think the women's path is a great showing by Payton/Taliyah in all their events and a few Georgia miscues.
The path for the men is more complicated, but I don't think it is impossible. Need a great day obviously and Florida can't do too well. Texas Tech has favorable projections.

The men's is going to probably go all the way down to the final event which is going to be good stuff. If anyone lays a dud, gets a DQ, or somebody runs a time out of their world it could turn the men's upside down and we may see a total long shot national champ for the team title.
Exactly. Honestly, any of those top ten, and maybe past that, could conceivably win this meet if they have a great day.
I don't know when the last time I saw the men side this competitive.
NCAA Indoor Champs Action:
In the Men's Heptathlon, Gabe Moore ran 6.94 in the 60 meter dash, which is a PR. He sits in fifth place after 1 of 7 events.
NCAA Indoor Champs Action:
In the Women's Pentathlon, Taliyah Brooks ran 8.05 in the 60 meter hurdles, which is a PR. She sits in first place after 1 of 5 events.

Taliyah has grown to be my favorite on the women's team.... She truly has to be on the short list of best athletes walking around that campus no matter the sport, men's or women's..... if not the best athlete.
No doubt, beach.
NCAA Indoor Champs Action:
In the Men's Heptathlon, Gabe Moore jumped 7.33m in the Long Jump, which is a PR. He sits in 6th place after 2 of 7 events.
PRs!!!! Loving it.
Love Taliyah.
NCAA Indoor Champs Action:
In the Women's Pentathlon, Taliyah Brooks jumped 1.84m in the High Jump, which matches her PR. She sits in 1st place after 2 of 5 events.

NCAA Indoor Champs Action:

NCAA Indoor Champs Action:
In the Women's Pentathlon, Taliyah Brooks jumps 6.36m. She sits in first place after 4 of 5 events.
NCAA Indoor Champs Action:
In the Women's Pentathlon, Taliyah Brooks runs a 2:22.44 in the 800 meter run, a SB. Taliyah wins the pentathlon!!
Taliyah scored 4572 points, which is a season best for her. Georgia girl scored 2 less than we thought. Nikki made the mile final. Things are going about as well as we could hope so far.
Kenzo runs 6.66 and doesn't make the finals of the 60 meter dash. Men's title hopes are already dashed, probably.
Nairn jumps 7.52m in the long jump and won't make the final for the men.
Jada is about to run her 60 prelim. I only have her scoring half a point, so her missing isn't big in terms of going down in projections, but we might need her to make it to pass Georgia.
Jada runs 7.28, but won't make the final. Great season from her.
Obi doesn't make the final of the 400 with a time of 46.67. Not sure what happened to him later in the season.
Vaulters were awesome with those PRs. Payton won hurdles! Nikki ran well. Team came up short. Men peaked early in season. But National Runnerup is acceptable...
Sorry, I never wrapped up indoor and I want to for my sake.
Arkansas men finished in a tie for 13th while the Women were National Runner up (2nd)

I went to the National Relay Meet at the U of A last night.... And in the individual women's 400 hurdles Sydney McLaughlin from Kentucky ran a blazing 53.60 as soon as I got there. I just looked at my buddies and went "wow, I think she could have even ran faster, look how string she looked finishing" .... I can't wait to see her win so many future medals for the USA. Her time was faster than 8 of the men who ran right after. She is unbelievable.
Razorbacks 3rd and Lady Razorbacks tied for 6th at SEC championships. Rare to bring home no hardware and even more rare to finish as low as 6th. Testament to the strength of the SEC!
Men and Women had to leave some big names at home because of injury redshirts and even new injuries. Women never really had a chance. Men fought hard, but faltered when Cotton seemed to hurt his foot a bit (hopefully nothing serious) and Florida kept exceeding expectations.
I thought the men left it all out there.
My one critique: I'm a little tired of the "men are injured" every year. I believe that, but I can't help but wonder what are we doing to cause that? Seems more than a coincidence now.
Agreed. Seems to be a recurring theme. But as a Hog fan, I am spoiled. Used to vying for conference and NCAA championships yearly. Hard to accept defeat when I see missed opportunities.
I'm glad someone else (almatrackster) had the same thought as myself about injuries. I know as a coach myself that sometimes it's unavoidable but not to this extreme every year. I've coached several multi event athletes for over 20 years and I can count on one hand the number that had to miss conference or state because of some injury.
It is magnified by predecessors having few injuries and seemingly having teams always rise to the occasion at the end of each season. Injuries aplenty by hogs has me at a loss. I cannot explain it. I truly believe it has cost us 3 national titles in past 5 years.

Its NCAA Championship time. The first step in this process in track and field is that all teams in the country are separated into East and West Regions based on location. Arkansas is in the the West Region (crazy I know, but East colleges are highly congested east of the Mississippi River).
To qualify for a region (not everyone that wants to compete gets to), you must be one of the top 48 declared athletes in your respective event, 24 for relays.
You then compete at regionals and must be a top 12 individual or top 12 relay to qualify for the NCAA Championship Finals in Eugene, OR.
I will now post a list of when all Arkansas Razorbacks will compete.

Arkansas men finish 2nd in their heat behind Florida to advance on in the 4 X 100 in Eugene
Griffith narrowly moves on in the 1500m by getting 5th in his heat... It was the slightly faster heat so he would have advanced still even had he got 6th or 7th.
Larry Donald finishes 7th in his heat in the 110 hurdles and will not move on...
Kenzo Cotton does not move on in the 100m and neither does Jaylen Bacon from ARKANSAS STATE
Mowatt like expected advances in the 400m hurdles for the Hogs
Kenzo snags the last finals spot in the 200m
The 4 X 400m team advances on....

Disappointing, but not overly surprising. Lots of speed out there.
4th in 4x100. Houston with NCAA record! It's on ESPN now. Awesome race.
There were records abound yesterday.... USC in the 4 X 400 to end the meet plus the USC guy in the 400m hurdles. Georgia takes the crown overall though.
In typical Oregon fashion the weather is again supposed to be in the 50's and raining for the women.
Few thoughts on Arkansas men's season:
100-200-400-4x100-4x400
In the sprints and relays, I honestly think we did well. Kenzo didn't make the 100 final, but he was very close and probably only missed them on a tough break. His 100 prelim was the only one with a negative wind reading and he still almost made it to the finals. He did make it in the 200, which I didn't expect.
Obi made it in the 400 and he's just a junior, so I expect big things out of him next year. Our sprint relay and mile relay did well. Relays were amazing this year and our guys were just a little behind them, but you can't fault them for not beating the record breaking times from USC and Houston.
I give the sprints an A-.
800-1500
You almost have to separate these two middle distance runs from everything else. This is where McDonnell made a living and where Bucknam has been very inconsistent. We really only had Cameron Griffith this year, who finished 8th in the 1500 at NCAAs. I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't even have anyone else come close to placing at nationals this year.
I'll give it a C-, since we did score in one of the events.
5000-10000-3K Steeple
I know injuries ravaged us this year in this department but the best I can give is a D in this category. We didn't even have a national qualifier. That is just unacceptable at the University of Arkansas. The only reason I give a D and not an F is because we had some people close to qualifying at nationals and we had depth, just not quality.
110h-400h
Kemar had a great season. He didn't defend his title, but that's tough to ask when two people run some of the fastest times ever in the history of the NCAA. He even ran a season best in the finals. Larry Donald did a great job making the NCAAs in the 110s and didn't do too bad. Chambers had a good season until championship season. I'll give it a B-.
Field Events
I'm going with a D- and only not giving an F because of some good performances that came up short. Harrison Schrage had a spectacular championship season, but just missed out on placing in the long jump. Gabe Moore didn't perform well in the last even of the decathlon, and if he had even done marginally better, he would have placed 6th or 7th.
Other than that, though, we only had one other NCAA qualifier in field events...Derek Jacobus in the decathlon.
All in all, I'm not impressed with this season and I know I sound like a debbie downer, but it is sad that I've accepted on a national stage we are consistently behind Florida, A&M, and now even Georgia. LSU is starting to pass us, too.
Good thoughts on the men and spot on.... Sadly, our women will end up being a let down some too this year as well. Not to the extent of the men's squad, but still not what we come to expect.
Every time I watch a meet in Eugene it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful that city is.... They have kept the natural beauty so intact while growing to a city of 170K. They do such a good job of balancing the keeping nature/growth so well.
Great job to Nikki in the 1500m with a good race strategy to kick in the last 200m and jump from 6th up to finish runner up.
Rain, rain, and more rain on this last day in Eugene now....
USC literally just snatched the team title out of Georgia's hands at the last second....
It was one of the most incredible meets I've ever watched in terms of team race.
Assessment is on target. Ladies should rebound well. Not so certain with men.
