In the late '70s, District 8A consisted of the following teams:

Rison
Grady
Gould
Gillett
Delta
Woodlawn

In the early '80s, Chapel Academy was in the district (I think). I'm not sure about Jefferson Prep who won a state title. Does anyone know what district they competed in?

Jefferson Prep & Chapel Academy came in to the 8A in 1983.  Prep was in the 5A central if I'm not mistaken when the won State.

In 83, I'm not sure Rison was in in the 8A.  I know they played several of the schools. But I'm thinking they were in the conf with Bearden & Jc

I remember playing Cotton Plant when they had the defending class A 4X100 relay team manning their Wishbone attack.  We won but it was a dog fight.

I remember going to a Cotton Plant - DeValls Bluff game at CP when I was very  young.   I seem to recall they had a manual scoreboard and the cheerleaders for the scoring team would hang the numbers.

And DVB's field ran east-west.  Scoreboard was in the NE corner and had bright green lights.
