It's not great enough to overcome the stench in the air or being 80 miles from Nowhere

Too bad you can't say title town, that moniker goes to the town that lies about 180 miles a little to the north and a lot to the east.  http://www.mapquest.com/#a3ebbdda34ee87fd4992bc65 Now type in Nashville as your starting point and 72160 as the ending point to get the correct answer

So if Nashville has then boom of jobs how soon before the go up to the 5A south

AirWarren

It wouldn't load on my computer. What "boom" in jobs?

Lol nothing new. Just promoting Tysons and Husqvarna.

~WPS~

Not a sudden boom. There's always been plenty of jobs at Tyson and Husqvarna. Doesnt necessarily increase population because lots of people come into town each day for work from out of town.

Gotcha. Anytime there is a chicken plant, there is risk for growth.

We just had our chicken plant reopen. Began operation again in September.  Starting out with 125 new jobs in Warren. By the new year, hoping to increase to 250 employees.

Why do they not want to live there?

~WPS~

Don't want to move, just need a job.

The more likely scenario is. They send the buses just to keep the population down. Unless of course they have a talented kid.  8)

Why do they not want to live there?

Probably the same reason all of south Arkansas is drying up.

Stuttgart had a population of 9745 in 2000. Went down to 9326 in 2010. Don't know current population.
Nashville had a population of 4878 in 2000. Went down to 4627 in 2010.

Before anyone has a chance to say Warren is no different...
Warren had a population of 6438. Now it has a population of 6003.

Many reasons why people don't live in these places anymore.

~WPS~

I'd be curious to know Nashville's population with the rural neighborhoods around here included.

DogsWin7

So this is to advertise for a job at Tyson?......Well then you could consider Waldron in that fine list...They have a Tyson Plant.

No it's about Nashville. When they talk about jobs they mention Tyson.

DogsWin7

Okay....:)

Did I hear Mr. Rowe call Nashville's Basketball Arena, The Mecca of All?    I thought that title belongs to ALMA?  :)

The population of Howard County is 13,789.

~WPS~

I found a website that estimates the population of an area you select. The area about a 5 mile radius around Nashville increases the population to a little over 6,000.

Me too. I used it in a few other places and I'm not sure how accurate it is. But I guess it is what it says, an estimate.

The areas in and Around Warren/Monticello are ESTIMATED 23,571 people.

AirWarren

Yeah.

Meanwhile he runs for over 100 yards in a 76-0 loss to Junction city.

He says that he is the key element to get over the hump in Warren. Heck he can't even be the key element to win a game in the weak 2A.

Just thought it was strange that would make fun of an obviously good player when his team loses to the #1 team in their class. 68-8, not 76-0 btw.

I have seen several "D-1's this year that really didn't show much effort.  As long as a kids tall enough to fit the mold, they will make it.

Part of the answer to this question is housing,  more specifically lack there of. You can buy a house here no problem.  But there is a shortage of dwellings within the price range many of our out of town folks can afford, so they elect to commute. Along with husquavarna are "back shops" or suppliers janeze plating is one,  misson plastics is another,  a new one opened last year, or should I say moved their operation from dequeen to nashville.......actually might have been 2 years ago....but either way there were like 100+ jobs. To my knowledge none or very few of those employees moved, again they choose to commute. Nashville could benefit with a new apartment building.

At one time, in our life time I think, Stuttgart was in the top 10 as far as one of the largest cities in the state!  Some cities are proactive and others just think that things will continue on!  Huge mistake!  I can remember when folks in Conway went to LR to go eat!

Nah, Stuttgart wasn't in the top 10 largest cities in the state. In the past 40 years the biggest pop. Stuttgart has had is 10,700, I can think of way more than 10 towns with larger populations.

Not to mention stuttgarts biggest employer is the farming industry. Progress takes jobs away in that area. A 1000 acre farm had 3 or 4 employees not including the farmer himself, now, a 5000 acre farm will have the same amount of people.
