Bo usually calls off the dogs once he hits 42.

Then its really a question of what will Warren allow you to score..,

The trophy comes back home after making the trip over to Hurley East so the Billies can remember what it looks like!! GO JACKS!!!

This game will be more or less like last night. Warren will be taking care of business and trying to rest anybody if possible for week 9-10 gauntlet.

Romeo

This game isn't fun anymore. I hope Monticello can turn it around.

This will be like a quarterfinal and semifinal matchup on week 9 and 10 of the regular season.

Unfortunately I have to agree.  It's kind of a "meh" game anymore.

While I'm a bit more optimistic than Biggoat, I realize who is the better team.

Other than Warren, all teams go through cycles.  It should be a much better ball game next year.  Trust me, the rivalry is very much alive with the players.

Warren went through a down cycle of their own 2009-2011. If I remember correctly the Goats put it on the Jacks pretty good in 2009. Warren's down just doesn't seem to go as deep as Monticello's does.

Very true...a little tongue-in-cheek comment.

The junior high games have been exciting. That's a positive indication of the future.

Monticello did win going away in 2009. This year, Warren will name their score. Warren 49, Monticello 14.

WARREN (21) at Monticello: The winner of the Saline River Shootout gets possession of a 146-pound trophy. Monticello hasn't won a conference game since beating DeWitt by eight points in Week 10 last season. Warren senior QB Justin Gorman threw three TDs last week, and he's thrown eight in the past two games.

It's a shame this game is this quiet. Used to be a premiere peeing contest between fans on here back in the day. Guess all the clowns that were blowing up our QB 's mailbox are in jail in Monticello or making Monticello Live news.

Only tre poster on here from Monty is Big Fan. Hembree is 11-2-1 against Monticello. That will kill excitement especially when you take in the fact of how down the Goats currently are. Monticello is also 0-4 in conference play and likely to be 0-5 after Friday night. That's crazy. This years "Shootout" is going to be like the 2012 game as far as atmosphere goes. Monticello had some pretty skimpy stands that night.

Monticello killed themselves in the Dollarway game. They were in the redzone and even inside the 10 several times. Either it was a turnover on downs or a costly turnover.

The only full stands will be those in the deer woods.

However, keep in mind that the Home side seats 3000.  So if they're half full that is still a good crowd for week 8 game and a 2-5 record.

Regardless. That is a lot of people. I had to work that night....so I wasn't there to watch the massacre unfold.

Heard through the grapevine that Davis thinks he will beat us. Since they have played the toughest opponents already this year in conference.

They will have to ask the tax payers for an increase for the jumbotron. The tax payers already had one increase with the turf so that may come next year.
