Should be a good one. There was an article out a couple of days ago about how many college players would be playing in this game. Anyone know the number?

I don't think college guys will be allowed in this game.   8) Moore and Sills are the only two for sure guys that I know of.

Tony Hutson also has offers and can score with the best of them in Arkansas.

Not sure but he has D-2 offers from some of the top D2s in the nation. In my opinion he is a way better offensive threat than Sills can score the ball in many different ways but Sills plays defense so that makes him a D1 player ok... I won't be surprised if Sills turns out to be a more athletic Anton Beard... If Hutson doesn't get the offer he deserves he should go JUCO cause he is definitely a D1 player.

Well, that's an opinion for sure.

NFHS has live feeds to watch on computer and phones the games for $9.95. I would suggest using the mute button though, the commentary is god awful.

Jonesboro repeats as state champs, 55-49. Great day to be a Cane!

Tony Hutson once again leads Jonesboro to winning another state title like he did last year 🤔

So leading scorer is all that matters? Tony played well, and is a good player, but there's a reason why one of them will play in the SEC, and the other one won't.

its not like the hogs are a top 10 ranked team in college so who cares...They have a real nice recruiting class coming next year and Sills barely might touch the court unless his defense translates to the college level. His offense will need some work but he is a hard worker so we will see what happens. Hutson still better in my opinion somebody will take notice and offer the kid.

Yeah I remember you saying Gafford wasn't much, it was all Perry, so I'll not put much into your opinions. If Beard can play in MA's system Sills will play plenty.

I never said Gafford wasn't much it was just obvious he was going to dominate every game when he is the only 6'10 on the court playing basketball in Arkansas. I said Perry was the best player because he was what made El Dorado go. What other guard did MA have to trust to handle the ball other than Anton,JB and Macon?

I bet El Dorado would have won more games if they wouldn't have jacked up so many threes and threw the ball to Gafford! He didn't get that much better in one year at Arkansas he could have dominated I high school if they would have gave him ball more!

He did dominate High School the only reason they didn't win state is because the refs were clearly calling fouls once he block the ball once it left the players hand and he was in foul trouble just like Perry was in foul trouble as well. Dan averaged 17 points 16 rebounds and 8 blocks a game as a senior. Seems pretty dominant to me. They lost to Mills twice that won state that year and they got cheated and loss to Northside in the coke classic that year who won 7A state. Then they loss to a scrappy Texarkana team at there place. 28-5 overall for the season.. There 3rd best player on the team Charles Manning averaged 15 points a game and 7 rebounds #2 I think got kicked off the team a week before the Jonesboro game so that hurt them quite a bit as well.

I watched them play several time every time I watched them the guards would jack up wild 25 footers and they had a 6 10 guy in the middle! Of course not there fault coaches fault!

Well, Garland was suppose to round out the guard rotation, but his health issues nixed that option this past year. I guess if you jack up 22-25 shots a game, you can make someone "go", lol.....

Lol, you've got an excuse for everything, "it's the refs", "we got cheated", "coach kicked off our 3rd best player"..... "Woulda, coulda, shoulda", should be your handle on here.

I'm just stating facts I was at the state game and a couple other games where the refs didn't let big Dan play basically with horrible foul calls ain't nobody making excuses.

And he still should be at the UofA alongside big Dan jacking up shots just like Macon and Barford did this year

Really impressed with both boro teams sweeping 6A.  Have they ever done that before?  When was the last girls title they won?

Nope, the girls won in 2016, this is only their second state championship.
