There were some questionable personnel decisions in that game. Stuttgart seems to also sleep walk through non-conference games.

Lot of turnovers in those first 5 games, that really put the defense in bad situations. If the offense can avoid bad turnovers, the defense will keep us in the game until the offense finds its footing.

Yep Stuttgart only played Arkadelphia every year 2014-2017. So obviously they have no idea how good the Badgers are.

speaking of non-conference schedule. Sylvan hills and Benton are in the simis. Wynne fell tonight.
If the Badgers that showed up tonight show up next week it may get ugly. I dont think anybody saw that coming. Stuttgart is no slouch though. You have to have a good team to be playing Thanksgiving Week. I dont expect a blowout but after tonight I have to go with the Badgers for the win.

Well I did say in 2 different threads I thought Arkadelphia would win. So I was right there. I just underestimated how bad they were without Burks.

Arkadelphia has won the last 4 games against Stuttgart and just blasted one of the Ricebirds biggest rivals. The north side of Arkansas county tends to operate in reality, not quite sure what you expected. I figure with everyone in town we will go ahead and open the gates at Ned Moseley stadium get dressed up and go ahead and play the game and see what happens. Hopefully, that will not put out the good people of Clark county too much.

Hard to play at that emotional high two weeks in a row too. There could be a letdown, but I think they'll be ready for Stuttgart.
The Badgers lost more than just the entire offensive line. They lost a lot of seasoned, solid role players too. That's another reason they struggled early. Now others have found their roles and they are playing together as a team. The coaches have done a fantastic job of keeping morale high and focusing on one game at a time just like last year.
I would argue that the top end skill of this Stuttgart team is greater than the skill of the 2012 title team. However, this team lacks the mental toughness of the 2012 team. They do not have that killer instinct that is fundamental to title teams. With that being said, I am excited for the game. Do not know much about Arky aside from the fact that they have had the Birds number.

arkadelphia hasn't showed to have a emotional letdown since coach eldridge has been the coach. We focus and prepare on a game at a time.

I was talking about the Badgers not having to worry about him this year. Ricebirds did and did it pretty well for almost 2 quarters before the thunderstorm cancelled the game.
Last year the Badgers never slowed him. You're lucky he got tired. One man almost beat a whole team.
But that was last year. Lumberjacks are done and you guys have to worry about the Birds. I know from experience that it's not an easy task to go to Stuttgart and win Thanksgiving week.
I think Arkadelphia will be flat, after two standout performances. Snowbirds win !

Because of JR Eldridge and the way they approach the week of practice, they treat every week the same. That never happens. If Stuttgart wins, it's because they played a great game, not because Arky was "flat". That doesn't exist to them.

Everyone is a "homer" to some extent. Teams can be successful without being a quarter-finalist in the state playoffs. A team that improved from 3-7 to 5-5 had a good season, for example. Hope won its first game in three years. That's a step forward.

He has a brace fitted for him. Torn ACL and LCL. He will be defense only so no threats for diving at knees when he runs the ball unless interception or fumble recovery. His knee doesn't bother him, considering the torn ligaments. This kid is tough, he even snapped his ankle back in place a few years back after it was broken severely.

It looks like the rain may taper off in the early evening but it could be a little wet at kickoff. I doubt that will be much a factor though as both teams are used to playing on the turf.

2 faced? I've said on here a few times that I'm a closet Stutty fan. I did say I would be pulling for the Badgers the rest of the way. I don't have a favorite in this game. Football is played on both sides of ball so I was looking at two views. I was saying Stuttgart could take this game. I also said the Badgers, if history repeats, has a chance to win it all by beating us and the winner of those games has gone on to win it all. But I NEVER said Arkadelphia was amazing.

I have a random question. How come Stuttgart turf has not been conditioned properly like it should be. It is a beautiful field but their is a lot of slipping due to there being nothing for players cleats to dig in to. There are none of the little rubber pellet pieces at all and there is no cushion that you usually have with a new turf field. Any ideas as to why they have done it this way?

Congrats to Stuttgart on a good season. Having a healthy #33 could've made a difference. Never been to a game at Stuttgart but impressed with the facilities and overall atmosphere. Really liked the send off line to the seniors after the game. Very cool way to send those guys off.

That was a good game, the Birds just couldn't punch it in when they got in the red zone. The defense played great, holding Hatley to 26 yards rushing. Just gave up a couple big plays for TD's.
That is what a quarterfinal game should be like, hard hitting solid defensive play on both sides. Both semi final games should be good ones. I'll probably be at Joe.T-Dumas.
