Larry Treadway longtime Head Football Coach at Walnut Ridge was approved by the Corning School Board as the new head football coach last night!!!  This looks to be a great hire for the Corning Bobcats!!!

Why would one leave Walnut Ridge for Corning?

This is very surprising.

Walnut Ridge must have a few rough years ahead.  That's my guess from the outside looking in with no actual knowledge on the situation.

Probably not a stretch to think that, but will it be more rough than Corning? They have not won a game in 3 or 4 years.

Walnut Ridge graduated a good senior class.  They do have a good sophomore class but I'm not sure about jr. high.

Yeah but for a career .500 coach is it better to take an 0-10 team to 0-10, 1-9, 2-8 or is it better to stay at your 9-3 team and have a similar record.

But your going to be that coach taking on the same conference opponents including your former team with a team that has less talent.

Maybe he wants a challenge.
Isn't that what Walnut Ridge is? Corning is much more than a challenge I would think.

Agreed. This is a head scratcher.

I don't know. You win one game and you are already more successful than the last 2 coaches.

If only they could win one game

Didn't leave any dirty laundry behind did he? Well probably not, but even if he did it would more than likely just go away since he did.

This is very surprising.

He's an avid fisherman, I'm told, could be the purpose behind the move.

So he likes to fish probably a good move for him
