Does anyone have a schedule for the upcoming Brookland Tourney?

cannon

I've got it, but I'm too stupid to figure out how to attach a pic on this forum.

Thursday Games

Blytheville vs. Bay 8:30
Baptist vs. Paragould 4:00

Brookland vs. Riverview 7:00
Monticello vs. Manila 5:30

baller334

I know it's early but does anybody know much about these teams? Just my thoughts here so don't anyone jump off the ledge lol. I've heard Bay is gonna be pretty loaded this year and Blytheville will be athletic as always so I figure Blytheville may win this one but a close game. We all know how good Baptist is so nuff said. I know nothing about what Riverview has back so I'll say Brookland at home. I figure Monticello will be good but don't know anything really and Manila lost some really good key players from last year so I'll take Monticello but we shall see. Open to everyone's comments and thoughts.

Baptist has lost a lot of size, and has a key man injured.  They will still be really, really good, but are a much different squad than past years.  McBride will be a serious match-up problem for everyone they face, but opponents can't afford to focus only on him because he will not get impatient, and he loves to facilitate for his teammates.  If a team wants to double team him, he doesn't seem to mind letting his team play 4 on 3... but it will still be very difficult to keep him from quietly having a double figure scoring night.

Manila lost a ton of offense in Woodall & Burrow. They still have an all state go to player in Birmingham and Bielew has tons of experience at point. 6'6" Jr Gonzalez in the middle. 2 year starter 6'3" Sr. Trenton Thomas plays the 2-5 and soph  Ty Wagner off of last years jr hi district champs round out the starters. This team has enough offense and may be Coach Wimbos best defensive team at Manila.

Informant

I like Bay over Blytheville.  Bay is guard heavy but those guards are really good and have been around since 9th grade.  Blytheville will be athletic sure, but they'll play man and try to press.  Pierce has always done this. I'd expect Bay to hit some outside shots and spread out they overplayed man to man. Coach Brannen has had Coach Pierces number for a few years now.  Dating back to the EPC days.

Manila is very good defensively to start the year.  Granted they haven't played anyone spectacular.  Those kids play hard and always have under Wimberley.  I don't know anything about Monticello other than they are 4A.  Expect a close one here.

Brookland returns every key contributor.  And will be at home. Plus the last real game Brookland played was against Riverview.  Expect Gross to have a better plan than he had in February.  I'm taking Brookland over Riverview.

I think Baptist is the team to beat here.  Should be a good tournament.

All that being said, mother nature may have her say in the end.

Not seen many yet but Manila Jr boys is good but don't look like they have much besides 2 good players
BIC looks good with good size I believe one is 6'6 and shoots good outside for his size
and somebody said they have an ineligible kid on the bench that can really shoot.
I'm sure Osceola is gonna be good and athletic
Truman will be good with good size and good shooting.
Not sure about others

Yes they do. Barbara Wilburn I think. She's coached them for some time.

I think she only coaches Boys. Pretty sure on that. Pretty sure Earle beat them in the finals.

baller334

Yea she just coaches boys and has for at least 15-20 years I'd say.
