Realignment is needed for 2A due to 8-man and HB 1097 possibly being a thing

2A is losing teams due to 8-man football and maybe more if Private Schools are excluded in this bill. The solution? 4A, 3A, and 2A need to consolidate into 2 classes with 8 conferences. Similar to how it used to be prior to 2006. Factoring in teams moving up to replace private schools and teams dropping to 8-man, This is what the new 3A and 2A would possibly look like if HB 1097 passes.

Sweet Feet, I hope a superintendent sees this and puts it on the agenda for the AAA to consider. I also hope at least one superintendent from each classification puts it on the agenda as a stand alone item for their particular classification. I also think that the AAA should take 8-man football under its wing and make a rule that no school with an ADM over 120 should be allowed to play 8-man. This would not only stabilize 8-man but your 2A classification as well. Also anyone with an ADM under 120 should be able to play 11-man if they choose.

Since I've already done this on the 4A board, I might as well do the same here.

Under the above scenario, there would be 56 projected 11-man teams in Class 2A. One could easily make 8 conferences of 7 there, with some room for almost any 8-man team who wants to jump back up.

Lake Village is really losing that many people? Also are you using projected numbers for the next cycle? Im using the current cycle numbers for now.

I hope they do too. I somewhat feel like someone seen my post calling for 8-man about 6 months before it was formed

The Lakeside SD in LV has suffered an enrollment drop of almost 36% since 2006.

Yeah, I'm using data gleamed from the SIS to project where schools could be placed in two years.

A lot easier to find than the latest on HB 1097, that's for sure.

Swap Des Arc and Barton

Swap Des Arc and Barton

It would certainly make the 6 more compact (and it is easier to to go along Crowley's Ridge than one might expect), but Des Arc to the 3 is primarily for McCrory's benefit (30+ mile difference between one-way trips).

Also, Marvell is much closer to Barton than Hazen is to Des Arc.

And des arc is much closer to Hazen than it is McCrory. It would not change Bartons travel much. And would eliminate a lot of des arcs travel.

Such a scenario would be for football only.

It'll be a while before we get to this point, though, and the AAA is apparently making a counteroffer.
