2018 Class 3A State Football Championship Rankings (11/24/2018)

(Only the teams remaining in the playoffs are ranked)

1)   Osceola Seminoles (96,636/12 = 8053.00 pts)
2)   Booneville Bearcats (109,779/13 = 8444.53 pts)
3)   Rison Wildcats (112,358/12 = 9363.16 pts)
4)   Prescott Curley Wolves (114,679/12 = 9556.58 pts)

Points are determined by looking at each team's schedule. Add the rankings together of each team's schedule as determined by Calpreps. Take that number & divide by the number of wins the team has. Then you have the team's points total. The lower the total the better.

Just for fun. Don't take it too seriously.

Ranking have been revised. I contacted Calpreps & informed them of Blytheville's after the fact forfeit to Osceola.

Osceola's forfeit victory over Blytheville is listed here: http://calpreps.com/2018/ratings/Arkansas_division.htm

Osceola's record on Calpreps now matches the one listed on Hooten's: http://www.hootens.com/11-26-2018/class-3a-week-14-rankings-notes--picks-/6597.html

Rison has the only team won-loss record left in the playoffs that Calpreps & Hootens differ on. Calpreps has them 12-0 while Hootens has them 13-0.

13-0 is actually accurate. The reason for those that don't know is listed below.

On Monday 10/08/2018 Rison played the LR McClellan JV squad. (MaxPreps actually calls the JV squad a 'Non Varsity Opponent.' It actually counts on Rison's won-loss record since the JV squad was a higher classification, 5A opposed to 3A.

However, Calpreps, although informed of the game, apparently has no way to use their computers to determine power points based on a JV game. More on that below.

Even LR McClellan coach Moody apologized to Rison coach Totty after the game in which Rison won 33-0. He apologized for not bringing more kids to compete against Rison. LR McClellan had a conference game the following Friday against Texarkana & LR McClellan coach Moody wanted as many kids as possible ready for that big game.

So obviously a JV game can have a large difference of personal ready to play creating an almost impossible task to compute for the Calpreps computer rankings.
