Tryouts for the 2011-2012 American Freedom Gold (Trout) team will be held from 8am-12pm on this Saturday August 13th, 2011 at the Ball Fields at Craig Ranch, which is located at 6151 Alma Rd in McKinney, Tx. Pitchers/catchers will begin tryouts at 8AM, position players will begin at 9AM. Please arrive early and allow yourself enough time to stretch/warm up. If you are unable to perform at that time, please call for a make-up.

Due to the graduation of the 2011 class (all of whom received college scholarships) and returning several core players from the 2012 class, we are focusing on competitive 2013, 2014, and advanced 2015s that are driven to play at the collegiate level. Top 2012s already in the recruiting process are also welcome. We are open to players from all over the region. Just in the last year we have had players on our roster from North and Central Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and New Mexico. We are willing to work with the right players in regards to travel, practice and game schedules.

The American Freedom Gold Trout is coming off a very successful Fall 2010 and Summer 2011 season, which saw the following accomplishments:

-10 of 18 players signing or committing to the college or university of their choice (the remainder of our 2012 class already have offers on the table as do several members of our 2013 class)
-ALL graduating seniors receiving scholarships
-4 Division I commitments
-16th place finish at the Dallas Region 7 Gold Qualifier (out of 72 teams)
-Winning our pool in our inaugural trip to the Colorado Fireworks Tournament
-17th place finish at the Colorado Fireworks 18u Tournament

All positions are open and competed for on a regular basis.

We offer non-parent professional coaches with 20+ years of combined experience, a full time recruiting coordinator, and a schedule that provides the most exposure for your player. The fall season includes high profile recruiting showcases such as: Spring Kline Showcase in Houston, Surf City Showcase (Huntington Beach, CA), Ronald McDonald Showcase, Rising Stars Showcase and Elite Showcase. The 2012 summer schedule will again take us to the Colorado Fireworks, ASA/Premier Gold qualifiers, and our own American Freedom Showcase which was in its inaugural year in 2011 and was highly successful drawing over 25 college coaches which lead directly to 3 offers for our players as well as several visits for players from all teams.

Your family will receive assistance in the recruiting process, open and frequent communication, and advanced skill instruction to keep your player progressing. We have had over 85 college coaches scout our team this summer and over 100 different schools last fall during the showcase season, including several D1s in the Big 12, ACC, SEC, Pac 10, WAC, MVC, and Southland conferences, along with nationally ranked D2s and D3s. Well over half of these schools watched our team play multiple games!

The American Freedom organization has grown tremendously over the last three years and now includes a 10u, 12u, 14u, 16u, and two 18u Gold teams. All of our coaches have one focus, placing our players in college programs that fit the student-athlete and her family.

The American Freedom organization continues to be a leader not only in North Texas but also in the state and around the country when it comes to camps and showcases for promoting our players. In 2011, we hosted our 3rd Annual Division I and Division II camps where we hosted 20 of the top Division I & II coaches and programs from all over the country. These camps are in addition to the 5 winter camps that we hosted from November January this past year. In all, we have hosted over 40 college coaches and some 300+ campers at our American Freedom Camps.

In just the last three years our organization has signed or verbally committed 21 players in the 2010, 2011, and 2012 classes to Division I schools. Overall, the American Freedom Organization has committed 41 student athletes to continue their careers in college. These schools compete in such conferences as the SEC, Big 12, Missouri Valley, Southland, Western Athletic, Lone Star, and American Southwest leagues.

The American Freedom Gold (Trout) continues to be a leader in Texas when it comes to developing the whole player both on and off the field as well. Our team places an extremely high importance on our players academic standards with minimum GPA requirements as well as promoting good character by giving back to our community through our service projects, which this year have included a record donation crayon drive for The Children's Medical Center, a toy drive for soldiers stationed in Korea to give to orphanages there, and putting on free softball clinics for local recreational leagues.

This is an 18U Gold team, not a developmental team. If your daughter is talented, driven, and desires to continue her playing career in college, please send your current profile to americanfreedomtrout@yahoo.com and join us on August 13th. We encourage you to pre-register with us via email walk up registrations will be accepted and will start at 8:30am. For more information about our team and college commitments visit our website at www.americanfreedomtrout.com or you can call Coach Trout at 469-667-8744. All inquiries will be kept confidential.

FYI - Our team roster currently boast two Arkansas players - Jessie Van es from Pottsville, Ar who has verbally committed to NCAA Division I Missouri State University and Courtney Lowe from Junction City, Ar who is verbally committed to NCAA Division I Louisiana Tech University.  In addition, two former American Freedom Gold players continue their softball careers in Arkansas - SS Alicia Zach is a member of the Arkansas Tech softball team and Ashley Martindale who plays at the University of Arkansas
