how good is lamars boys haven't heard much about them. I know they had some athletes on the football team

The Chief CL

We played Lamar back in Navember and beat them 61-20.   I look for them to beat Charleston by at least 10.

Kitty01

U beat them by 41 and u think charleston wins by 10

The Chief CL

BigMan15

Lamar didnt have their football players when they played cl...i think it will be close for a while but ctown pulls away in the 2nd half but u never know at lamar can be tough at times..ctown has had a couple of close conference games already and lamar coming off a loss to danville..look for them to be aggressive early...girls..lamar by 15 although ctown has been playing some great basketball. They are very well coached.

Kitty01

Lol ok why u posting And reading a 3a thread don't yall play in the lowest classification in Arkansas. It's amazing how all u Indians think u can beat charleston.

RTF

Its also amazing how anybody could beat anybody on any given day.....just sayin

Kitty01

Yeah ur right it could happen. If ward and smith had the flu that day

Clara Allen

It will be a fun game.  Looking forward to going tonight.  Ready to see the Lady Warriors do work!

The Dynasty

It's never fun going to Lamar. We will have to be at least 10 points better than them to win.

That's what a good home court does to the opponent. No disrespect intended.

Clara Allen

none taken
it is what it is and sometimes that home court advantage isn't worth beans!

CL beat Lamar without McCarly and Kern, their two best players by far. Taylor isn't the kind of player that can create on his own, so they were seriously outmanned against CL. Consequently, if they were to play CL now, I'd still take the Indians, but I can assure you it wouldn't be a 40 point blowout. Far from it.

As far as this game, I expect Charleston to win by 10-15. McCarly will do all he can to keep them in it, but I don't think he has enough around him to keep up with the Tigers. They'll need big nights from Kern and Taylor, and I don't think they'll get it. Smith has been playing too well, and I don't think Taylor will get many good looks against that defense. Lamar also has depth issues, so if McCarly or Kern gets in foul trouble, they'll be sunk.

The Chief CL

Well I guess I've lost my game.

I can't even stir up you Charleston folk any more.

#EagleStrong

Oh man, I got my first down vote. Well, it was a good run.

Off to watch Warriors-Tigers. Looking forward to seeing how this one plays out.

BigMan15

Upset boiling lamar up 30-13 right now!!!

Oh lord...please tell me they don't use the football refs for basketball too!

Congratulations to Lamar. I'll have to find out later what happened, but like Dynasty said earlier, we needed to be 10 points better to win tonight and apparently we weren't! I'm sure Lamar played very well and deserved this victory. Hopefully now Eagle fan #3 doesn't think Charleston is unbeatable

neds

Were the refs the difference?

WPWells

I don't know but I usually tend to try to not blame losses on the refs

As a third party, I thought the refs were decent, better than I thought they would be. They certainly weren't the difference. Lamar led wire-to-wire. They opened the game on a 10-0 run before Charleston cut it to 10-5. Then Lamar exploded, taking a 37-25 lead into the locker room at halftime. More of the same in the third quarter, and Lamar led by as many as 19 at 48-29. Charleston chipped away, and fouled out McCarley on an offensive foul with about three minutes left. Charleston mounted a furious rally and got within a possession, but couldn't hit shots when they had the opportunity. Ward got an open look to tie it, but it rattled out. Lamar hit free throws to extend the lead to 4, Charleston missed a desperation shot, and that was the ball game. Lamar's guards shot very well, particularly McCarley, and Charleston was cold most of the night. Lamar had a comfortable lead most of the game before Charleston rallied in the fourth.

1st you don't have to wait on dynasty for what happened I'll tell you.... Lamar beat you pretty simple but love the "hunt for excuses" already 😂

2. Trust me I NEVER thought Charleston was unbeatable, I watched our jr high beat Charleston this year and bringing it on back to BGC. Eagle Fan #3 believes it was you ole CHS that carried that delusion with you into every thread!

Reread my post please. Also, show me where I EVER said that Charleston was unbeatable. In fact, every time you said that I was quick to say that no one believed that; however, you just showed that you're classy just like all the Paris people on Twitter tonight. I've heard all about the game tonight. I bet you were there and sitting with the whole Paris crowd that was cheering for Lamar. I WAS NOT AT THIS GAME but I've now heard all about it. Thanks for showing your butt though. I came on and classily congratulated Lamar. You can claim nothing from this. You couldn't beat us in your own house so you had to go watch another team do it for you and now you're celebrating. That's real mature

BigMan15

12Th just because ur mad at eagle fan dont be talking about our team like that..we have worked hard to be where we are...and i told u already lamar was a dangerous team when mccarley is on..it opens up the conference for a lot of talk but when Paris plays @ Charleston will most likely be for the conference..good job lamar tonight..a much needed conference win...now lets move on to the next games..

Then tell your team to stay off Twitter instead of getting on and celebrating a Charleston loss...I know more than you think I do (like how a large portion of the Paris boys team was there tonight rooting for Lamar)

please watch your accusations
i know for a fact the whole team was

Yeah, you're really showing your maturity 12th Man, complaining about Paris players' twitter accounts. You're better than that; why worry about that, man? Why exactly would you expect them not to cheer for Lamar? It was in their best interest as far as conference standings for Lamar to win. And they weren't all cheering for Lamar anyway. Half of them sat on the Charleston side. And one of the player's girlfriend plays for Lamar anyway. Nor were anywhere close to all of them there. Only three starters even, one of them cheering for Charleston. You don't know near as much as you think you do on this one, and you're letting this get the better of you, so don't sweat it. I said it elsewhere, it was a night when Lamar was flaming hot and Charleston was frozen-in-the-tundra cold. The Paris players understand that as much as they do the fact that they could very well step into that same building on Tuesday night and lose there as well. And I'm sure there'll be plenty of gloating and told-ya-so's from the Charleston side as well if that happens. Just don't let Eagle Fan #3 rile you up, okay man? Let passionate fans be passionate without retaliating out of form. Paris is well aware that they lost to a team that is far more capable than they showed tonight. End of story. Let's bury the hatchet and move on to Friday. You've got the conference game of the night with Danville coming to town, and I sure wouldn't want to be the Little Johns right about now.

Clara Allen

Lord you people need to calm down!
Lamar boys came out like they were on fire.  Good team effort.  And smothering defense.   At times Charleston looked     I don't know how they looked!  Their coach got a technical early in the second quarter and one of their guards took a hard fall and hurt his knee.  He came back in and played but you could tell it hurt.  A Tiger dad was escorted out shortly before halftime.   Lamar's lead never got to 20 points.  Charleston would fight back to six or seven down then the Warriors would hit a three or get fouled after a made shot.   In all honesty I saw no more bad or non calls than I've seen all year.
The Lady Warriors on the other hand, took control early and never looked back.   These girls are on a mission and played lights out

Eagle fan #3

FOR THE RECORD....my child, the one I'm concerned with, was playing on the opposite side of town! I do believe I WAS CALLED OUT ON THIS THREAD BEFORE I EVEN POSTED ANYTHING! And it's not the first thread I've been called out it! So lesson here don't start no stuff won't be no stiuff! MY TEAM (jr high) beat your team already, and you may beat my team next game!! SO WHAT!!! Don't come on here flappin your gums then not be able to eat what's served! But if you continue to call me out you're gonna continue to get what you get.

The Chief CL

Well folks,  I just call it like I see it.   We just know bball down here in lil ole CL.  Would have loved to watch this game last night.   O & Kitty you guys don't want any of the top 5 or maybe top 7 teams in the smallest classification in the state.

Hello pot....I'm kettle! I'll give you a little words of wisdom.....when you wake up an always see ugly might need to realize your looking in a mirror an not out a window!

Clara Allen

Good Lord....
Apparently there was a fight after the game and evidence of another fight outside the gym in the parking lot.
I left at the end of the third quarter, so I have no first hand knowledge of what happened after the game.  But I will say this:  adults need to act like adults and not go after the players.  Kids don't use all their brain cells and say and do stupid stuff.  Adults need to use their brain cells!

Junior high has to go to Charleston tonight. After last night, it has the markings to be ugly. I hope that cooler heads will prevail.  I know I will be preaching to my kids all the way over there about how to act.  And they WILL act right!

Stop. The guys that were out there making plays for Lamar didn't play against County Line. I was at that game, I saw it firsthand. I've been a big advocate for County Line, but that is an extremely unfair comparison. And for the record, Danville, who will likely be fifth in the conference by week's end, beat Wonderview, who your boys couldn't handle, if you really want to compare results. But, I think the Charleston fans on here know that all you're doing is trolling them and trying to get a rise out of them.

CL has always been jealous and in envy of Chaleston. That's just how it goes Eaglestrong. I actually live in Indian Country. They pretty much dream of being a Tiger.

The Dynasty

Great win Lamar. We knew it would be tough winning in your building and that proved true. Charleston has to find out how to play good early on in road games. This is the third time they have come out and gotten into foul trouble and gotten down by double digits early on the road. It worked out against Danville and Paris but caught up with them last night. More often than not it won't work out for the road team. Good for Lamar for holding on. You proved you have what another school in this conference doesn't, the guts to hold off a champion. Says a lot about the Warriors.

That being said C'town is still in great shape. The only tough road game left is Two Rivers. We control our own destiny and I expect we win conference.

As far as Paris fans go.... smh. I'd hate to think that my program gets owned by the same school so badly that they have to go to another school to cheer against them and then act like they actually won something. Get real people. That's why you are a second rate program and always will be. Good luck come February 6th. You'll be lucky to get out of the Tiger Center with the little pride that you actually do have left.

T I G E R S

ChucktownTiger

As far as the game goes, it sounds like Lamar came out firing and jumped out to an early lead. Charleston was never able to come back from that, although givin it a good shot. Charleston has another tough one coming up Friday and the festivities of Hecoming won't help any. This team will hopefully use this loss as fuel and a lesson. I think they'll go in to the second half o the season with a new attitude after the loss and take care of business. Get'em Get'em Tigers.

The Chief CL

Well hello mr eagle.  Wouldn't you like another go.  You had your chance not once but twice and couldn't get it done.  Nice talking to you though.

The Chief CL

And if you go look again I said "in November" I'm not stupid.
