Good news for me...and bad news for everyone else...   

I actually recommandeered my 7YO laptop, and is running smoothly as ever. (PROTIP: Check your startup programs frequently! You might be surprised how many there are.)

Therefore, after a "year off," I shall once again bog the rest of you down through my Board-Famous Mindless Banter®. 

Apologies in advance.   

Arkadelphia (15) v Stuttgart
The Ricebirds are yet another example in how programs should not grow overreliant on payoff years. Incidentally, another one verges just time to receive a good test against an increasingly-stable team. The Badgers will be in outscore mode throughout this season, and will take a convincing first step Monday night.

Shiloh (10) v Charleston
The Tigers are reputedly one of the state's more stable programs, but replicating last season's level of play will certainly be a tall order. The Saints, meanwhile, feel especially close to finally returning to the lofty post that they take pride in keeping (FBOFW). Keeping these trends in mind, I expect Shiloh to eke this one out in the end.

Heber Springs (20) @ Clinton
Last season's game was a bit of an upset favoring the Panthers, to the point where a few were wondering what would become of the Yellow Jackets. Clinton ultimately rebounded quite nicely, but this year, they could be hard-pressed just to tread water in a 7-horse 4A-4 playoff race. In any case, an upset won't be necessary for Heber to prevail this time.

Lonoke @ Star City (15)
The Jackrabbits must be harboring constant frustration. Since their run to the title game in 2009, they've won more than six games in a season only once, and only one playoff game. They've garnered higher expectations this year, but it won't be an easy start againt one of the favorites in the 4A-8. Expect the Bulldogs to weather everything Lonoke throws at it.

Gravette @ Pottsville (10)
Color the Lions another frustrated bunch. After dining with the 4A-1's best from 2007-2011, Gravette has been lucky just to continue their playoff streak. Again, expectations are higher, but will they fare against a team they've had little luck against? Consider the Apaches to hold the edge until proven otherwise.

Highland @ Harding Academy (15)
The Rebels have become quite brave recently in scheduling quality competition early on. It's as if they've become fully aware of the 4A-3's reputation. While they'll have better luck this time around, it'll still be a bit of a bump to start as the highly-regarded Wildcats await on the Glossy Plains.

Hope @ Nashville (20)
What's the over record in this series again? I wonder if it's as one-sided as it feels? The Bobcats are actually expected to have a good team this year, but that matters little when your rival is regarded as one of 4A's best. The Scrappers start their march in comfortable fashion.

Prairie Grove (10) @ Farmington
I was beaming as the Cardinals edged away in the last matchup as predicted. Indeed, they showed considerable promise to start last season, but unlike fellow upstart Maumelle, conference play sent Farmington into a tailspin. The Tigers will look to take advantage as they exact their revenge and set their sights on some "supposed imposters" Week 2.

Robinson (35) @ Bauxite
The Miners are yet another case of what happens when a team spends too much time in the cellar. In fact, they were far-gone to the point where trying to bring them back was met with crippling rejection.  This isn't the best situation to be in against a team wanting to make a few statements. Look for the Senators to send their hosts to the woodshed early and often.

McGehee (10) @ Hamburg
These two former conference foes look eerily similar team-wise this year, and they're both expected to make some noise in their respective classes. I'm only giving the edge to the Owls simply because I'm waiting to see what exactly the Lions will bring to the table.
