Not going to totally disagree with you but past coach was just as much at fault as they were. Plus past coach is part of the reason our morale was so low. Also administration and school board has nothing to do with running a disciplined program. I know the relationship was bad but they never did anything to keep him from having a winning program.

That fifth day of school doesn't have to be academic. It could be used as a social day, like exercise, reading, or watching movies. I remember having days like that 20 years ago every now and then at school. I agree with the point made above: too many kids go home alone, and parents stress about a work schedule that works.

Big E, do you know if the Forrest City fields are turf? I saw a google earth pic and they didn't look like much and weren't turf. I'm hoping that pic was old.

I saw some google earth pictures and the fields don't look like much on there and aren't turf. I'm hoping those pics were old and they've made improvements.

Be interesting to see this year. The north and central regions were the deepest regions in 2A in my opinion and now they matchup in first round of state. There are some good matchups there.

Kids have limited attention. You have to wonder how much learning actually happens after a certain point. If your district covers a large area, the bus ride adds to an already long day. Then parents have to arrange for childcare on off days. Have heard of some problems with older kids being unsupervised. It changes a lot.
