Thanks for doing this again!

No problem. It takes me a little while to get all these first meets put in, but it becomes easier as the year goes on, so forgive me if it takes a few days to get things updated.

Thanks TD, I'm working my way down the list of events so I'll make sure to put him in when I get there.

He's a good athlete.

Sounds good to me.

I'm in the process of updating all of these. I do one event for all 7 classifications at a time. I just finished the 1600 meter run, but should be able to go much faster the rest of the week.

Thanks for the passion you have for track Almatrackster! I know it takes a lot of time to put these list together, but it is much appreciated! We love to see times other runners are running, & you make it easy to find all in one spot. Thanks again!

And BrianfromCarlisle good to see you on our board. I didn't know you kept up with track, but good to have you around.

BrianfromCarlisle

I like track. Just hard to find any info on anyone.  Glad to see this thread.

Cody Fox, from DeWitt, ran a 10:15.3 at the Hamburg National Guard meet yesterday. Very encouraging run for him, due to the fact the closest runners to him were a lap & a half behind him. Can't wait for the Russellville meet to run against some of the best to see what he can do. Very proud of him (if you couldn't tell)!

Great job!!  Love your posts.  You can add Prescott's Khaalid Stewart to the 100 m dash with an 11.34. Also Prescott's Chance Steed has went 11'0" in pole vault and Prescott's Demitri Hawthorne has went 40'10" in shot put.  Also the Prescott mile relay team almost qualified with a 3:40.23 last night at Ashdown.

Sorry forgot to mention this thread, I didn't use the 4 x 100 relay times from Monticello because they didn't put the times to the hundredth of a second online.

It may seem small, but the difference in 43.90 and 43.99 can make a difference. I don't doubt Dollarway ran that fast, but I'll have to wait until they do it at a meet without those timing troubles.

If I get some time I will work on the other classes. It does take a lot of time but I will try and get it done before Thursdays meets.

Mark Odom of Lonoke ran 11.00 in the 100 m and 14.90 in the 110 m hurdles on March 20 at Riverview Raiders meet. Hope he will continue to improve this season.  Both times were personal bests for him. We shall see.

Mark is a good kid and despite what others have said I've never said anything bad about his dad. I don't think the Riverview meet was a certified meet so those times don't count unfortunately.  He'll have plenty of chances though. I wish he was still at Cabot. We'd have an awesome sprint and relay team.

Hey that's fine about it not being certified, if he stays healthy then  there will be other meets and hopefully, he will continue to improve and can perform when it counts. Are there automatic qualifying times or do the kids only qualify for state at conference? Cabot has very fast athletes and two great track coaches.

They can qualify both ways. The times in parenthesis beside each event are the auto qualifying mark/times for state.

If they don't qualify that way, then for 4A, 3A, 2A, and 1A, you have to finish top two at conference in that event to qualify.

(For 7A, 6A, it's top 6....and for 5A it's top 4)

Agree with you on the coaches. I really respect both.

Imagine Alley, Burke, Odom and Launius 4x100. That'd compete for state there. Unfortunately,  only 2 are running for Cabot this season.

Perez will have quite the load at state. How is Shamrock looking in the jumps and hurdles?

If only Nashville had Pettway this year..

~WPS~

Perez was taken out of the 4x800 tonight, which I think was a good move and helped him a lot. It'll be tough at state but he ran all 4 last year successfully so he'll be fine. Shamrock is slowly getting into track shape after basketball lasted longer than usual. He qualified in high jump three weeks ago. Went 21' 2" in long jump and 16.5 in 110 hurdles before spring break. He didn't run tonight because of some soreness, nothing serious. And Pettway would definitely help but he's focused on football. There were a lot of guys that stepped up tonight and performed well. Still a long ways to go though.

Scrapper Relays
Nashville 1st, Arkansas High 2nd

Slow start to the meet after the rain and one of the stadium light poles fell. Nashville qualified Lee in the shot (49' 1.25"). Maumelle qualified Thomas in the 800 (2:04.17). Nashville's Perez got high point, 4:44 mile 1st, 2:06 800 2nd, 10:26 3200 1st. Not a good meet for sprints, the wind was gusting pretty high.

Thanks for the information Ballplayer.

Note on updates:

I must apologize for the slow update for the past week's meets. I had a busy week and an slowly wading my way through things.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ THE WALL OF TEXT, I'M BASICALLY SAYING I'M USING VARVEE ONLY INSTEAD OF DIRECTATHLETICS AND VARVEE

I also have a new way of doing things. I have expressed my displeasure with varvee in the past but after working with it for awhile, I have seen how it has some strengths that directathletics doesn't. The main one being that it gives wind readings for individual jumpers unlike directathletics. It still has it's negatives (such as one athlete being put under two different names and schools being put in the wrong classification), but I've found it easier to use for my performance lists.

Why am I telling you this? Well, I've made a new standard where I will only add results to the performance lists if the meet is posted on varvee. I used to do directathletics or varvee, but the AAA has made it explicit that it will only allow qualifiers to come through varvee. This isn't really a big deal since usually meets will go up on both websites, BUT right now the Conway meet, for example, is up on directathletics but not posted on varvee. That means there are some performances from that meet that won't be on the lists UNTIL it is posted on varvee. I'm sure it will be soon, not sure what is taking them so long...

I hope to have my lists updated for the meets currently posted by tomorrow or Tuesday.

Yep, I'm working my way down the lists of events. I do one event for all 7 classifications starting from the 100 meter dash. I just got done with the relays so I have the field events left. He will be added soon.

Unfortunately Magnet Cove has not put their meet results on varvee yet, so I cannot add this to the performance lists. When and if they do, he will be added.

Magnet Cove is not a certified meet so it will not be added to Varvee and can not be used for qualifying for state.

Ok.  Sounds good.  Kye just signed a LOI to run track for Harding. Running 400.  Congrats to him.
