Mr.Bearded

Perryville @ Mansfield. Perryville showed it has some speed Friday night against Paris coming from a couple sophomores who stepped up big. Perryville runs wild on Mansfield this week. 49-20 could be Perryvilles last win of the season before playoffs start.

I think Perryville will score pretty much anytime they have the ball on Mansfield's not so great run defense if Perryville does not shoot themselves in the foot with mistakes which they do not do much.... Mansfield can throw well at times so I think they'll score some. I think the score will be pretty close to where you predicting. Maybe one TD closer just cause the Mansfield passing game. It's very impressive to think this Perryville team will be sitting at 7-1 going into the final 2 weeks if they take care of business like they should on Friday!

Mr.Bearded

We all knew Perryville was improved but I'm not sure anyone thought they'd be headed into the closing weeks 7-1. If they don't get a big head and let Mansfield spoil it.

I don't see that happening. They know what's lurking down the road. It is possible, however, that they are looking ahead to next week and lose their focus.

That said, I think it's likely that the Mustangs have little trouble with the Tigers.

However, I think you were correct in your earlier post. This will be their last regular-season win. They end the conference schedule with losses to Charleston and Atkins and finish with the 3-seed. Not bad for the up-and-coming Mustangs.

On side

It's a long bus ride to Mansfield but the Mustangs will take care of business.

Anyone other than On Side gonna be in Red Tiger land tonight?

I'll be there. I don't see my tigers getting it done tonight Perryville looks legit and Mansfield has a TON of injuries. Mansfield has had trouble with the run all year and starting two freshmen on defense is not going to make it better. I look for Perryville to run at will on the tigers. I could see Mansfield mounting a second half comeback, but it probably won't be enough. It hurts to pick against my tigers, but I'm saying Perryville by 2+ scores.

Has #12 returned yet? He really is the player on their team that can make TD's happen in a flash on that team. He is definitely the big play threat for Mansfield. I think your analysis on Mansfield is pretty accurate. They have a good enough offense to be a playoff team imo, but their defense and specifically run defense is the let down for them. If they're playing that many young guys it will show stopping the run definitely.

I'll be there. As RedTigerFan said Mansfield is riddled with injuries. An uphill battle for sure, but there won't be a lack of effort by the Tigers against a solid Perryville squad.

CoolBreeze

The injuries likely won't change the outcome but may increase the margin of defeat.

60-20 Perryville. Mercy rule is in effect and Perryville is inside kicking... classy
Maybe your players should get better at recovering onside kicks... and defense

Mansfield's defense is what happened
Or Lack thereof? Did the P'ville power running game just wear the Mansfield D out, so that by the second half they had nothing left?

On side

You do realize what an onside kick is don't you?  We didn't kick a single one.  We do that all the time to keep from getting burned on long run backs.

smallybells

I'm guessing they were pooch kicks not onsides.

On side

Most were squib kicks.  Once pulled in do a deep kick every now and then.  I know a few "classy" fans didn't like it and our coach and film guy from the box got a police escort to locker room.

Mister Fister

I'm sure this was the referees fault.  Is there a fantastic article about how well the referees preformed last night?

On side

A squib is a hard line drive kick.
"A squib kick is a term used in American football meaning a short, low, line drive kickoff that usually bounces around on the ground before it can be picked up by a member of the receiving team"

Agreed to disagree.  I promise Coach Baker has more class than that and no onsides were called.  Good luck rest the season
