So how is off-season going for these NWA 7A schools??

Okay, I'll start it off. From what I hear, Coach Tiner is working Springdale's tail off.  Putting him in charge of S&C may prove to be the best decision Coach Clark has made in his short time at Springdale. I think they could be fighting for that 3, 4, or 5 this year and could make a jump into the top 3 in a few years. Word out of Fayetteville is Coach Dawson is changing that culture for the better, which could be a very scary thing for the rest of the 7A. Her-Ber will be changing offensive coordinators, but with Coach Wood still in charge, I suspect they won't move to far away from the power running game that we have come to know and love. A little bit more of a short and intermediate passing game does need to develop though. Thats all of the ears on the kids I have.

From what I have seen and heard Bentonville might have a harder time adjusting to the split in talent next year. West has no problem playing the best players they have regardless of grade. Bentonville is still trying to stick the the tradition of playing upper class men even if there is talent at the soph level that can step up and help out. Last year they still had the numbers with the last sr class but going forward with the reduced numbers could come back to hurt them later in the year when the play offs are in reach and the grind of the season has taken its toll.

Har-Ber had a good off season and spring practice. Lots of talent coming back, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Their D will be nasty. They will play some kids both ways this year to get some play makers on offense. O-Line is the ? going into the fall but they should be good.

I heard SHS had a strong spring as well. Kids are believing in the coaches and system and working hard. Some good young talent coming up as well. Will have more depth than they have had in quite sometime.

I agree with Kirb on the BV split. West gained some great experience last year and BV will have some big holes to fill due to graduation. But make no mistake, they will fill them and be very good as usual.

I think the team that has the chance to make the biggest jump is VB. They have a some kids that are pretty dang good. They just need to get some confidence and protect the ball. On the opposite end of the spectrum I think FV will struggle to finish in the top half of the league. I know Dawson is a great coach and he can work miracles, but over the last 2 years they have lost a ton of production and eventually it catches up to you.

We'll find out how much West has improved next week, they're going to Tulsa for pad camp.  Coming out of Spring they had a new RB, who can make big plays and maybe the best corp of receivers in 7A west.  Two new transfers that started yesterday will make a big impact on the program.

Yep.  2 kids from Robinson.

I moved across town from Northeastern Bentonville (towards the highway)  back to western Bentonville (around Elm Tree)  with how the district lines are drawn now I think West is going to be the dominant school in Bentonville for the years to come. There's still a lot of growth out that way.

Bentonville will always be the bigger high school.  Last year BHS had 2,000 more students than West.  This year it will only be 1,200 students.  :-)

I agree Harber should be the favorite, but I did see they lost a key RB today for the season.  Hate it for him, he showed signs last season of being very, very good.

I also agree that West will be improved, but not sure they have enough in the trenches to pass Bville and Fville.  They will have a very good QB and a stud WR, along with a new TE/WR that should be very good as well.  You still have to run the ball to be competitive in this league.  I'm gonna have to see it to believe it.

I'll go with:

Harber
Bville
Fville
West
Sdale
VB
Rogers
