He went into the wind too. But they had blocks and it was laser timed. He was bad fast, was over a half a second faster than next fastest kid.

It was good to have a meet at England again , it has been about 10 yrs I think. A big THANK YOU to Coach Gibbs for helping us with the meet

We have brand new blocks, but he did not use them.  He was also wearing street shoes.  It was a Hand held time.  He is also in the 7th grade.

Has Brinkley been at anyone's track meets? And if so, how did they look. Been a long time since we've had one.

BrianfromCarlisle

Braiden Jenkins from Carlisle ran a 5:10 mile, finishing second to a kid from Batesville Southside.  And ran 2:19 in 800.  finishing second to same kid.  This was at Riverview Tuesday.  He's in 9th grade.  Are these pretty decent times?  My wife and I are trying to help him find ways to get better.  He wants to qualify for state this year.

Any suggestions are welcome

Thanks

These are good times and he should get first in both races at district.  This will get him to A
State.

Softball Dave

I just wanted to give props to Braiden Jenkins, a 9th grader from Carlisle. After running the 4x800, 800m, & mile in the morning in the Jr High district meet (finishing 1st in each), he ran the 4x800, 800m, mile, & 2 mile in the High School district in the afternoon, which he won the 800, mile, & 2 mile. That makes me tired just thinking about running the High School races alone. Congrats on a great job qualifying for state in all 3 three races!

BrianfromCarlisle

Great kid. Great athlete. Thanks for your support and help  Dave!!!

Pick, are you coming to the meet Monday?

This will be a work in progress, but I should have an organized list of everyone qualified for every state meet and then top 10s for each classification going into the state meets.

Still hurting from the last trip to England.  I understand😁

Bahahaha! That never stopped yall from coming to des arc the previous 4 or 5 times. Even a blind hog finds an acorn every now and then. Lol

The real question is, how do they decide whether to go to the state track meet, or the 2nd round of district in baseball and softball,  all of it is scheduled for Monday.

Life is all about choices.  I do it think Hazen or Des Arc can compete for any team titles in track this year.  The girl from Des Arc and the youngest Conway could win an individual event , but that is about it.

Pat Swilling

Who has the top 4x100 times this year in boys track?   I know Texarkana and El Dorado both have times in mid/low 42's

The girl will win atleast one event, but she doesn't play softball, so she has no decision to make. I'm not sure what the baseball players will do. Shouldn't have to make a choice like this, kiss should be allowed to do both, they have worked around each other all year.
