New Points System for Next Year I'm Proposing

Ok here is my proposed system I'm making that involves preseason rankings, Weekly hooten's rankings and a lot of other stuff. Here is the points system. Based on the Hooten's preseason conference ranking, a team would be given a set number of points. Then you add or subtract points for each category getting a total for the week and divide it by the number of games played. This way if a team has a bye week the playing field still stays even. Let me know of any additional things I should add.

1st Place 100 pts
2nd Place 90 pts
3rd Place 80 pts
4th Place 70 pts
5th Place 60 pts
6th Place 50 pts
7th Place 40 pts

Conference Win +15
Conference Loss -10
Non Conference Win +10
Non Conference Loss -5
Win over Higher Class +15
Loss to Higher Class -5
Win over Same Class +10
Loss to Same Class -10
Win over Lower Class +5
Loss to Lower Class -15

Same Class Win over Lower Rank +5
Same Class Loss to Higher Rank 0
Same Class Loss to Lower Rank -15

You'd be spotting teams that don't have that great of a chance at making the playoffs 90 points, i.e. El Dor...

well thats why im asking for people's opinion, im trying to make it as fair as possible and still be scientific so any suggestions ya got, send em this way.

Seems to me like the current system lets teams prove themselves on the field.

You are putting the playoffs in the hands of a bunch of guys who wouldn't even make good posters on FF. I'm also unsure about why the team would get +10 for shutting out an opponent. This would make a team in a weak conference a lot better looking then they really are. As well, beating people by 41 points doesn't prove anything in my eyes (other than a lack of class).

Are you proposing this points system as a method of discussion on FF or as a system of determining playoff teams? If the former,who cares. Do whatever churns your butter. If the latter, why?

it is just simply a poll. i have no means of trying to change the playoff picture. although it's not 100% perfect right now, i will agree it gets the job done. i'm just saying if hooten's can have a poll, what stops a guy on ff from having one also?
