It appears that Wendell had a playoff twist that basically reset the score with some minimal bonuses...I have that way figured and saved. But not sure I want to continue that, as it basically makes the regular season picks not matter(feel free to add your thoughts/opinons on this)...anyway on to the games

The moment the Senators clipped Arkadoo, one could all but rest assured they would run the table to the playoffs. With the match below setting up to be a barnburner, though, I wouldn't be surprised if JTR is initially caught flat-footed to start R2. Whether that would persist is another story.

Riverview @ Dardanelle (10)
The top-scoring offense in the 4 hosts the 2nd-highest-scoring offense from the 2. Judging by the scoring, the Lizards look like a team that would be found at a higher seed. The trouble is, all three losses have come to teams that average over 31 PPG. The Raiders have averaged 33, but said average has only been surpassed twice in the last six weeks. With all the similarities on paper, expect this game to come down to special teams.

Malvern @ Gosnell (20)
You know your conference has a bad rap when predictions on your champ's R1 game are mixed, at best. To be fair, the Pirates did themselves no favors when they were swept by the 3a-3 early on, though an observant eye would note the early injury bug they had to overcome. Demias Jimmerson will be expected to keep the hosts busy, but that won't nearly be enough in the face of that pourous Leopard defense.

Heber Springs @ Gravette (10)
The R1 matchups between 3rd seeds usually aren't want for excitement, and this showdown between two improving sides. The Lions look to be forged from a fierce early-season fire as they steal 3rd seed away from Shiloh. The Panthers have rolled thanks to a late defensive push, averaging 10 PPG the last four weeks. The question is, can Heber's offense keep up with the orange stallion that is Austin O'Brien?

Highland @ Warren (35)
This could very well be the biggest mismatch in R1. The Rebs' defense has had a rather long year, holding teams below 20 points only twice. It certainly looks to be the kind of setup that the Lumberjacks could easily take advantage of.

Crossett @ Ozark (20)
This also looks to be a major mismatch, at least on paper. The Hillbillies have attained their highest scoring output in a regular season since 2000, and the defense has improved greatly since OOC play. The Eagles, OTOH, have scored the fewest points of any playoff team in the state, while allowing over twice as many. Approaching this game with that in mind, however, is rather dangerous: Crossett looks be playing their best football right now, outscoring their last two opponents 55-28. Even so, Ozark has experience in dealing with whatever edge their guests might bring with them.

Pottsville @ Prairie Grove (30)
The last time these two met, they were jockeying for pecking order among the best teams in 4A. The Tigers have done a pretty good job holding up as they win their fifth title in six years. The Apaches, though, have hit a bit of a rough spot of late, with a shaky defense leading to 10 losses in the last two years. While better years can be expected, PG should provide a stark reminder as to how far Pottsville needs to go.

Shiloh @ Stuttgart (15)
There are many eyes being kept on this game. The Saints have been all over the place, getting banished to the road by Gravette yet spoiling Pea Ridge's perfect bid the following week. The Ricebirds, however, have been on a total tear since Week 5, and are more than eager to assert the claim that they are the 2' best team right now.

Booneville (Bye)
As I've said elsewhere, the Bearcats have found themselves in the doldrums. Whomever they play next week will the first at-least-decent-opponent in four weeks. What really hurts is that they won't necessarily be the favorite, either. With a drop back to Class 3A looming, Booneville's lauded junior will want to make the most of what's ahead.

Monticello @ Nashville (20)
The Scrappers certainly know how to beat down on bad teams: they've only scored fewer than 35 in a game twice. The defense may still have some questions, but don't expect the Billies to be too big a challenge for it.

Waldron @ Pea Ridge (35)
One look through the various tiers of play will reveal that the Bulldogs finally have a bright future ahead. Clinching their first postseason trip in 14 years should be a cause for celebration, since there aren't many students that were around the last time it happened. However, the Blackhawks, fresh from being plucked by Shiloh, will be more than happy to show how far Waldron has to go.

Hamburg (10) @ Westside
If you want another idea as to how bad the 4A-3's reputation is, take a look at this game. After five years of being stuck at the 5th seed, the Warriors have actually produced a respectable season, and have actually gotten better as the season progressed. For all the progress they've made, though, they're considered underdogs against a Lion side that has allowed more points than they've scored. Will this be the moment the 3 overcomes the thumb of the 8?

Gentry @ Southside (20)
The Pioneers reach R1 largely through the effort of one guy, but the Southerners will have plenty to negate whatever's thrown at them.

HWH Central @ Arkadelphia (25)
The Badgers could very well have a good road to the semis, but the Cougars are capable of catching them unawares. Whether they do, though, is another story.

Ashdown (10) @ Trumann
The Panthers seem to be going through some deja-vu. They get a lengthy road trip to face an overall-productive team, with the overall talent of the guests expected to prevail. If this sounds at all familiar, this is pretty much the setup of Ashdown's last playoff game, which didn't end quite the way it liked. This is yet another referendum on the 3 as its continued struggles are expected.

Pocahontas @ Dumas (20)
The Skins have had its postseason struggles, and the 8 is a big reason why. Expect the Bobcats to continue the trend.
