Clarification needed from a football expert:
In last nights game a Malvern player recovered an onside kick and held the ball up in the air to show clear recovery and Malvern was awarded the ball, shortly thereafter the opposing coach used an iPad to show referee what he thought was possession and then call gets reversed, then ball gets awarded to Bauxite based on the iPad.
Is it legal to use an electronic devise (iPad) to determine possession even when player emerge with the ball in hand and ref award  possession then have that call reversed with the use of that devise (photo)?

Bauxite player covered the onside kick.  The signal should've been made by the line judge at that moment.  They allowed them to wrestle in the pile for 20 plus seconds and Malvern player emerged with it.  So your version is slightly different.

Jimerson is definitely the real deal.  Hard for Bauxite tough defense to look tough against that kid.  He is definitely a game changer.  Don't forget Bauxite was penalized back to the 26 yard line, before last play. Great win for those Miners. Uphill climb for them for the rest of the season.

Bauxite fought hard however you have to remember how it was determined.  Fishy Huh?

Those refs were very indecisive all night.   The line judge messed that whole call up. The first down measurement that was measured then reversed.  Smh.  Great game outside anything else.

SMH....why am I not surprised.  #Pitball

The Pit is a hard place to play,  but those refs were assigned by the assigner and from Mena.  Just grow up and admit you were outplayed.  At least our refs showed up on friday night.  #glenrosewhoppedyouonsaturday

Did the assigner overturn a possession call from looking at an IPad?  Sorry, I'm not a Malvern fan, but shenanigans have been going on there for years...it's nothing new.  #Pitball

The way that Bauxite plays they have a really good chance in this game. Malvern can't exactly stop anything right now and the Miners like to play keep away.

The officials never looked at the iPad. Patton wanted them to, but they can't and didn't.

When Bauxite player recovered the ball, one official blew his whistle and marked the spot. The other official came in late and awarded it to Malvern after it was wrestled away from the Bauxite player. The film showed clear Bauxite possession, and that what Patton wanted them to see. But they never looked. They conferenced, the first official told them what he had, and they gave the ball to Bauxite
