Could someone with a better understanding of the subject than me explain how extended contract days are calculated into a coaches pay? For example if a base contract is 190 days, and a coaches contract is for 210 days, how would you calculate how much more they make for the extra days?

I know they get a coaching stipend, but coaches also make more if they are on the extended contract days.  The extra days is where coaches make their money.  I just have no idea how this is calculated.

Take the salary. Divide it by 190. Then multiply by how many more days the contract is than 190. Then add it to the salary total.

50,000/190 = 263.15

263.15 x 20 = 5263.15

Add 5263.15 to the salary and there ya go.

Some school use an index (percentage), which is much better.

Thank you! I figured that is how it worked but never was sure.

I just divide it by the 190, then multiply by how ever many days it is(205/210/220/240), takes out a step

Same concept.

And I agree the percentage index is a much better way to do it.  It rewards experience for sure.
