Battle for the Bill Manning trophy! Should be a good game, but them Hornets have hit stride! I will say HG 40 Bearden 28!
Grove will be the favorite for sure but I think it will be extremely close game

I say it will possibly be close for the first half l, but HG comes out second half and puts up last 2 touchdowns.
Grove will mercy rule bearden
This. Will. Not. Be. A. Close. Game.
Grove by as many as they want (and since it's the Cubs it'll probably be by 50)
Yep bout the same mercy rule Hampton took 2 weeks ago against the grove remember
CHG by 14
It all depends on which Bearden team shows up the one who pushed j,c, for a half and beat Hector or the one we have seen the last two games.

Sorry but it has nothing to do with what Bearden team shows up. I mean it might change the first quarter deficit that the Bears have to endure but mercy rule will be put on in the 3rd quarter no matter what.
Guess we shall see.The Bears will be ready for this one. J,C, would mercy rule h,g, just like Prescott did...

There's really no good response to this...I didn't play much football (had back surgery when I was 16) but this rivalry needs to be rekindled a bit if you ask me. Just trying to do my part in fanning the flames 🔥
OK I understand but you never know what Bearden team gone show up the rowdy bunch or the i dont care bunch
For completely selfish reasons I have to root Bearden in this one, but it's seeming more and more likely the conference title will be played at the grove in a few weeks. I really wish teams like Mount Ida and Earle had to actually play a couple of actual games before the playoffs. See what life is like in the 8-2A.

Tell me about it. The Ida fans act like they are invincible and they have played no one yet. Risons schedule hasn't been amazing but at least we've played Fordyce, Bearden and, Dumas in a scrimmage that wasn't a scrimmage, and CHG might have played the best schedule in the state so far.

For Bearden, the need for skilled player/s to step up is now, and help Berry carry the ball. From listening to the radio Friday night, The receiving core struggled to gain separation v. PC, and when they did, couldn't make the connection (for the most part). This is a much better Bearden passing team, than they have been showing as of late, and until this passing team hit's on all cylinders, everyone will load the box. Really missing a dominate RB that can pound you. Couldn't tell much about the line from the radio, but they have to a better job at the LOS. That's all.....
Bearden get's it done in Bearden +8 Bill Manning trophy staying in Bearden this year.

No, these things are an observation only. This team knows what's wrong, and if they make some adjustments, they will prevail. No contradiction there! CHG has had a bumpy ride too, so I go with the home team.
If Bearden can there issues out this will be and great game to watch if they don't harmony grove will attack them
From what I have seen stop Berry stop Bearden. I like Berry. He is a good kid and football player but the players around him really need to produce. I say HG because of all the weapons!
Berry should have made the move to Hampton

CHG might beat Rison, it could happen, but I would like to point out just for you that since 2001, Rison is 13-3 vs CHG with 9 of 13 being 2 or more score victories in favor of the cats.
Rison probably has similar records against everyone that they play

In all seriousness, you're 100% correct and we know that beating Rison is a rare occurrence at CHG. Our Hornets are scrappy and we all predicted them beating Rison before they graduated. If this years' team doesn't get it done, then it'll be a few more years as we won't play next year.
Two years ago, we had just beaten Prescott in Prescott and came to Rison expecting to win. We had you guys scared late in the 4th quarter until our QB fumbled going into the end zone and a Wildcat defender scooped it up and took it back deep into Hornet territory. Wildcats scored and put it away 29-20. We knew we were capable of beating Rison after that game. Last years' game, we were determined to get it done and should have, but I'll end that statement here.
Beating Rison is big for any team, and that's a compliment in itself. The Hornets feel like they should have won both of the past two meetings had they made just a few more plays go their way. We'll see how it plays out in a couple of weeks, but next up for us is Bearden and the goal is to keep the Bill Manning Trophy another year.

Prescott is probably the best team in 3A. Who has Bearden beat to think they are even going to compete with harmony grove?
Mission accomplished.
Heck Bearden would get mercied by Glen Rose and last I checked I wouldn't say 42 to 20 is a complete wallop!
These arguments are stupid both teams have played top teams chg have played Prescott and Glen rose Bearden has played junction city top 3a and rison both teams have lost and both schools would not beat any of either schools both teams have beat top 2aa schools also Hampton and Hector it's homecoming for Bearden they will play better than previous weeks cause it's and rivalry game but Bearden has too many players out to pull of this win
I think PC exposed some things about Bearden. Injuries and depth have been issues for them all season. Grove seems to have found their rhythm. Likely the Hornets win this one by 2-3 scores, but if Bearden gets back to the way they were playing earlier this could go down to the wire.
I'm saying :
Grove 35
Bearden 22

Horstkamp is a heck of a coach. Yall would be stupid to even consider getting rid of him. Who would want to come there? your numbers are getting smaller and smaller every year and if something doesnt change you will be wearing yellow and black for the Greater Quachita County Hornets

JaQuise Dancy is the reason he didn't win a championship,
and before him, it was the kid from Strong that's now playing on Sunday.
Tell me why Bearden has not produced a top RB in years, and you will find the answer.
Horstcamp has about a .600 + - % win rate.
don't hate the messenger, hate the message.
B.J. Ross is the only one to come to mind, and If I'm correct, Ross & Jammond Young lead Bearden to WMS to the last play of the game v. JC. Since then, there have been -0- quality RB's in Bear land.
Bearden is a good school won't put the school down. They have gained alot academically! It really is a good school, but this is about football and unfortunately they haven't been the same in a good while.
Bro strong was good 1 year and jc 3 years like I said before when Bearden find some coaches we will get back on win trail

Had Defonte Ross not tore his ACL v. Parkers Chapel when he was in like the 11th grade, he may have led us there.
Tyler Berry can't do it all. I don't agree with everything these coaches do, but you can't argue this HC's overall record, it's a good one.
He plays for the fans half of them boys sure don't need to be on field at all he runs the same defense and offense cox had they don't have sense to come up with something different
My statement had nothing to do with academics or the quality of the school. The facts are they are losing numbers and if that dont change they will be forced to consolidate. I dont want that for any school. Yall have some good coaches over there. I think they run Cox off trying to add too much to his plate and not compensate him for it. I wouldnt call it getting rid of him but they definately made it alot easier for him to go. I bet their arent very many coaches in the state with the winning percentage of Horstkamp at bearden

Your numbers went from 145.33 in the 16-18 cycle to 126 in the upcoming cycle. The only reason Strong is still open is because they are so far away from everybody else or they probably would be closed. Conway Christian is a private school! Mt Ida and Forman are also losing numbers but not as many as Bearden. Hampton's numbers actually went up this past cycle so they are going in the opposite direction. I also never said you were closing. I said if something does not change in the future you would be consolidating. If you lose another 20 kids for the next count there would only be 6 football schools smaller than you. Of those 6 at least 2 have folded their seasons. Get your facts straight son
Stop worrying about Bearden son we know you and hater just know we will always beat pc at football and basketball Lil dude

I was referring to our first game of the year this year, and since that point. Nobody can stop JC's RB this year, but Bearden had success this year until half, until they had 7 players cramping in the 3rd qtr (at one time) from trying to catch him. Not an excuse, JC RB is good this year as the results are showing.
I hope this is a close game. I went to the Bearden Rison game and it was over at the half. I was also at the CHG Hampton game and it was over at halftime. I hope the bears can get back on track and make a game if it. After seeing both teams I believe CHG wins 21 or more.

Maybe Totty would start playing them. I have heard that CHG's first three games next year before 3A Conference play begins will be Bearden, Fordyce, and Junction City. All he's gotta do is pick up the phone. I think it would be a big early season matchup and would draw a huge crowd.

Actually Rison usually does play JC. This year and last year are the only times in a while they didn't play in the preseason. Totty and Carpenter were hunting buddies. Since Carpenter retired they don't have the same kind of rivalry going.

I'm just listening so just what I've heard so far. Hornets had trouble early containing Berry and the cannon that he has for an arm. They blitzed a lot early but have since started just rushing 4. Did much better containing him in the 2nd quarter. Offensively Grove has moved it really well but have turned it over 3 times.
20-14 Grove I think
And just like that Grove leads 28-14 about a minute into the 3rd Q

Not overlooking Hampton, but if Rison beats CHG and loses to Hampton, they share if I'm not mistaken (which I could be).
It's 56-14

If Rison beats CHG but loses to Hampton it would be a 3 way tie for first... then it comes down to points to see who gets the #1 seed which would probably go to harmony grove since they dominated Hampton and I don't see the Rison/harmony grove being a blowout or the Rison/Hampton game being a blowout
We have the chance to take care of this ourselves and not have to worry about who beats who and tiebreakers. CHG will give Rison all they can handle next Friday.
This game was better than the Hampton game with CHG for about 5 min. I just think there are two teams at the top of the conference the are 35 points better than the 3,4 and 5 seeds. The crazy thing is the 5 seed from the 8 would be in 1st or 2nd in most all the other conferences

Does it go by points scored, points allowed or both?
If it goes to points and you beat a team by more than thirteen all you can count is 13 points.
Has to be a 3 way tie to go to points as well
Congrats on the win CHG. We seem to be recently struggling with teams going up in class, as well as the ones dropping in class. Go figure...

Thank you Bart. Our guys goofed around for a bit, but got it together just about the time it seemed the Bears started getting tired. Hornets also realized that the blitz up the middle worked and they got better at wrapping Tyler up as the game went on. He threw superb passes for both early touchdowns and the two point conversion......perfect spirals with our guys pressuring/ hanging on him! Tyler Berry is definitely a young stud and I've heard he's an exceptional student and young man. He's always been very nice when I have spoken with him.
Good luck to the Bears the rest of the way and Happy Birthday to your Bears fan, Lenny Sisson. Visited with him at the Hampton game and at Friday's game in Bearden.

Horstkamp is a heck of a coach. Yall would be stupid to even consider getting rid of him. Who would want to come there? your numbers are getting smaller and smaller every year and if something doesnt change you will be wearing yellow and black for the Greater Quachita County Hornets
Uh Oh, I heard he may be wearing yellow and black pretty soon.......
Heard that as well. Return of cox in Bearden?
