Seed for the West?

Harrison is the 1

After that? Who is the 2 and 3?  What games still impact seeding?

If the playoffs were today then Morrilton would be second because of the breaker points but it still comes down to what happens next week on what Alma, Greenbrier and Morriton does on their games for 2nd, 3rd and 4th seed   I believe that Vilonia might even have a shot at 4th seed if they beat Greenbrier by 13 or more points.

After week 9:

1. Harrison(6-0)

2. Motown(4-2)13+13+7+13=46

3.Greenbrier(4-2)3+13+13+13=42

4.Alma(4-2) 13+7+1+13=34

This is the way I interpret it after 10 beers.

This is really close. The way it actually works, the tiebreaker points would merely push one of those teams to the fourth spot (in this case, Alma). After that it goes head to head. In this case, it works out correctly since Morrilton  holds the head to head over Greenbrier. It's not likely to change in this case - just noting for the future.

Interesting! If I were Briar I would be taking this game very seriously cause Eagles will score 14 more in the Win next Friday.

If Veagles win by 13 tiebreaker points, they would have 42 the same as 'briar and both would be 4-3 but Veagles would own the head to head.  But then if Alma loses then they would be 4-3 like 'briar and Veagles so things get more complicated for 3rd and 4th seed of this scenario: Veagles own hth over 'briar, 'briar owns hth own Dales, Dales own hth over Veagles.  I think that's right.

Tie breaker points do not determine seeding, only who goes head to head. So Morilton wins HTH over GB for the 2 seed. then GB goes HTH with Alma for the 3 seed.

I would mathematically argue that in a 3-way tie (where A beat B, B beat C, and C beat A), the lowest point total is ALWAYS the lowest seed.

That may be true for a 3 way tie, but what about 4 way or 5 way ties? I was simply stating that the points don't determine the seeding, just who goes HTH

Coach DePriest, Sheridan

No such thing as a perfect 4-way tie.  In a perfect 5-way tie, the lowest points would end up being the lowest seed and none of the other point totals would come into the equation. Interestingly, the two teams that the lowest point total team beat would be the top 2 seeds.

If anyone finds a mistake, please correct me.

Sounds like a good probability project for a math class

As I work it out, the current seeding is Harrison, Morrilton, Greenbrier then Alma. If all three of 2-4 win Friday night by more than 13, the seeds stay the same. If Alma wins by 13 and Greenbrier wins by 5 or more then Alma will finish below Greenbrier. If Morrilton wins by 2 and Alma and Greenbrier win by 13  and 5+ respectively, the seedings stay the same. The only way Alma finishes above the #4 is if they win by 13+ and Greenbrier doesn't win or wins by less than 5. If that happens, then Alma is the #2, Morrilton is the #3 and Greenbrier is the #4 (assuming Morrilton beats Clarksville). If Morrilton loses and the other two win, it's Greenbrier, Alma then Morrilton.

I believe Vilonia has a chance for 4th if they beat Greenbrier by 13 or more.

Actually, a Vilonia WIN gives them the #4 seed.  Possible #3 with an ALMA loss and some tiebreaker points help.

Vilonia must win by 6+ points and Alma must lose to Huntsville. If that happens, Alma is out and Vilonia takes the 3 seed because they beat Greenbrier.

After reviewing the AAA Handbook, I am wrong about the 5-way tie.  It takes the top 2 and compares them.
