2 very good games by the Lady Bearcats who are starting to come together better
Cali Milligan led Brookland with 16pts vs PA
with Maynard and Lovrein adding 11pts

If Milligan continues to produce on the offensive side of the ball, as she does on defense,  the Lady Bearcats could be led on offense by a different player every night. To me, this will make Brookland a better team.

ManilaIce

They are starting to hit their stride.  Very impressive weekend at Beebe.  That's what makes a team so scary having multiple people that can hurt you.

Very solid with good size, and a heck of a point guard.

Thanks Turftime ,
Appriciate the compliment , some excellent compitition down there with some players like Riley Rose from HA, Kalyela Miller from Beebe, just to name a couple that will play at the next level.  these games will help us improve in all areas. It's hard to really tell much about other teams on fearless Friday unless you get to see them in action or they play a familiar opponent. I try and just state the stats from the games and throw in my thoughts just a little .. Lol
Who is your team Turftime?

Yes it's Sr high , Brookland's Defense is not bad

I know Brookland is tough but 14 points is not very many especially since Brookland played subs a lot.

Our subs played well, especially our Soph backup PG Rachel Thompson.
Brookland has played some very good compitition lately , Harding Academy , PA, Beebe, Rivercrest , and Rector .... Trying to get ready for our tough conference!!

Ezyout9700

Brookland jumped all over them early with the press. 14-2 1st quarter, 31- 8 half, 41-12 3rd quarter, 48-14 final.   Point leaders..... Rachel Grambling 12, Callie Milligan score all of her 8 1st quarter went out with sprained ankle, Minley Long had 7 , Alexa Thompson had 7, Haley Morgan jumped with 6 down low in the post...

Next up for the Lady Bearcats are
Bay 1/13  Pocahontas 1/14 (c) Cave City 1/16(c)
The starters haven't got a good game in the last few games ,but our subs have
done a great job, soph's Haley Morgan, and Rachel Thompson , have really been
stepping up and playing well. Along with JR Nichole Ross who has really been knocking down the 3 ball lately , should give us a lot deeper bench this year.
Rachel was the Jr high point guard in her 8th and 9th grade year as they won conference and district
consecutive years. Haley is really coming along as solid post player who can rebound, score and defend.

Your correct , both games should be great battles, wish I could watch that Ozark Farmington game. If VV wins tonight , that would probably seal them the conference  title. VV has a great Brand new Gymnasium.

edghog

Same with Ozark. No other team in conf has been within 10 of the Lady Hillbillies all year. A win tonight would all but lock the title. But the Lady Cards are tough & Farmington is a hard place to win. I personally will be glad to see them move to 5A next year.
Good luck to all. GO HILLBILLIES!

Playing at Valley View will be extreamly tough , I don't believe they have a loss at home this season. They will also be moving up to 5A next year. Brookland will have to bring their A game for sure!

Lady Cats beat Pocahontas 60-48 , led by Menley Long's 19pts and Rachel Gramling's 17pts and have 2 conference games remaining / highland and Cave City to clinch a share of the district title. CC is a tough place to play and the Cavewomen are one if the best teams in 3-4A!

Olfan, I was at the Riverside game tonight and came away very impressed with the Lady Bearcats. Riverside played without their second leading scorer but I don't think that made much difference. I think Brookland is the best team Riverside has played with Manila a close second. Good luck in the post season.

Thanks Box,
I couldn't make it tonight but was told Riverside had a good team and played Hard. Brookland has a lot of different options for scoring leaders every night they take the floor. They can turn turnovers into points in a hurry with their man to man pressure. and has two point guards on the floor with Maynard and Milligan. Long, Thompson ,Lovrein, and Gramling can all drive and score or spot up for the 3

BoxNOne

They have scorers and ball handlers at every spot. Their defense is very good with good overall team speed. The only possible problem spot I saw could be a lack size. I figure in 4A you run into some big post players but hopefully they can make up for it with quickness.

Oldref

Olfan.....Are the Jr Lady Bearcats still playing in the district. Haven't seen anything posted about that. May have just missed it. They are good also.

Yes we have played some teams with 6ft girls, Cave City has some huge girls. And we are not small , but were not huge by any means , but our girls play hard and are pretty balanced. Overall team speed is good, we love to push the ball and play tough in your face defense all game long.
