Conner Noland needs to cut football out and stick with baseball only. He was on the mound while I was there and he has good stuff. He will focus on baseball when the dust settles. Morris isn't going to wait on development of what is already on the roster. I truly feel like it's the smu kid's year to shine. And I wouldn't be surprised if KJ redshirts and Morris goes after ANOTHER Texas grad transfer gunslinger.

It was a small sample size I saw, but it just has the look of an SEC stud pitcher in the making in a year or so once he gets the experience at the new level.

You guys followed last season much closer than me, but if memory serves me correct at this exact time we were in a bit of a funk including getting swept at Miss State to be 8-7 in the SEC at the conference mid point? Then that's when the team just flipped the switch and went on its magical run it did. This year is just way different. Last year it felt like in that slump it was an error here or runner left on base there that caused us to lose a lot of close games. This year when we look bad its really bad and even in our losses last year there was none of these horrible pitching problems overall.
Can one of you guys confirm that we were also 8-7 last year at the SEC mid point before we flipped the switch? Just a little disheartening to see the writing on the wall for this year cause pitching that causes you to get blown out frequently can't be changed over night :-\ .... Oh well can't win them all every year though. Just the nature of the beast.

I think you're correct. This team is very capable of turning it on this year too, but they need more consistency on the mound outside of Campbell. Not making excuses when saying this, but we need Kostyshock back ASAP!

VanHorn has forgotten more about baseball than i will ever know. But in a million years i still wont understand why we didnt squeeze that tieing run home. That would move good heart to 2nd and who knows may have gotten a hit to take the lead. But at that point i felt like if we could simply tie, we would win.

That's true.
And yes, if we tie it up there, we win.
Great we won the series, but getting another sweep would have been huge because you would have increased your lead in the West to 3 games instead of 2.
That's ok though, as long as we win our final 2 series!

Looks like the Hogs inability to play small ball is going to be the reason why we wont go far this year. Van Horn only plays one way. Either small ball like he used to 4 or 5 years ago, and now gorilla ball. He needs to look at what A&M, Vanderbuilt and Georgia does, cause they all can and do both. If we get a top 8 seed, and I don't think we deserve one, we won't make it out of the Super Regional. This team has way to many flaws, and they have all been exposed in this series with A&M.

Might be, but don't deserve it. And if so, we will be the first of the top 8 to exit. Going into Hoover. we have lost 3 out of the last 4. Van Horn doesn't take Hoover very serious when he knows he has a Regional locked up. We could potentially be 1-5 in the past 6 six games going into the NCAA Tournament. We are in trouble!

And the nay sayers show up after a series loss. Bulldog has been the only one around for weeks. If a 2 to 1 win loss ratio and a 40 win season in the SEC dont get you a national seed then so be it. Correct. Hogs will be fine, we just ran into an Aggie team that knew that they had to win this series to be in the hosting conversation. I agree with us needing to do more small ball.

I agree. Ole miss scored some runs in theirs. Maybe we can top em at home. Im sure ole pee won't be intimidated but if our boys cant get extremely focused for this series, its impossible to get focused. Not saying they havent been focused. But this should be at the next level
