1. Warren Lumberjacks
2. Dumas Bobcats
3. Crossett Eagles
4. Monticello Billies
5. Star City Bulldogs
6. Hamburg Lions
7. Dollarway Cardinals
8. DeWitt Dragons

This would have to be my outlook for the 2017 season.

Warren has tons of talents as does Dumas. I see Crossett bein very much improved they seem to have speed and depth. Monticello will be about the same. Star City and Hamburg will be a toss for 5th and 6th but I believe SC will handle a very down Lions crew by 21 this year, HHS misses the playoffs for the first time since eh I believe 2010 when they went 3-7. Dollarway and DeWitt could be a flip for 7 and 8.

That would be great! We haven't beaten Hamburg since a 17-14 win back in 2012!

Itll be a close game winner recieving 5th seed!

Lionpride2017

I think Crossett could very well beat Dumas and be in that 2 seed.

I noticed that Dollarway is currently having some work done on their field (how they can afford it, I don't know) so it looks like they'll actually be playing home games their this year.

We had a fundraiser at Pine Bluff Country Club. Raised around $12,000 for them.

I guess they must be adding a sprinkler system and re-sodding the field.

We didn't care what they did with the money. Just had some old friends whose kids go to school there.  They were very upset thinking their kids may be forced into going to Watson Chapel.

If they're good they can always come on over to PBH. :)

I thought maybe the game would have been played at UAPB if Dollarway's field wasn't ready. I didn't realize that the Cardinals playing at Watson Chapel 2 years in a row was even a possibility.

Meant going to school there.

I think they are just delaying the inevitable in that regard.

They all say Chapel is dangerous and it would be safer at Pine Bluff High.

Pine Bluff, Watson Chapel, and Dollarway all have gang problems. White Hall has drug problems because that's where the money is and the drug pushers know it.

Benton is 6a. But outside of Benton, I believe so.

Monticello had both Crossett and Dumas(fumble at the 1 yardline to lose the game) beat.  With the NEW QB(who should have been the QB last year) they will be a much more efficient offense.  Offense and defense both return 7 starters.

Mcgehee beat Crossett and we weren't very good in 3a.

Romeo

I think Monticello is going to be the surprise team in 8-4A this season.

Crossett lost a lot last year as well. I believe they will be much better this year.

With the Jr high teams iv been seeing in Crossett the past few years they will be a force as well next year.

that was a terrible game between Crossett and Mcgeehee last year....both teams could not get out of the way of each others.....Coaches on both side, made some bad choices on play and personnel selection....

some how we at crossett can't get that talent to mature in senior high play....some kids don't want to play because they afraid that they may get "HIT" or can't make the grades....

Dewitt always has good jr high teams too

Some programs use jr high to play a lot of 9th graders one way and get them ready for sr high and some play kids both ways  for jr high championships.

+1 ..... Some people lose sight of that. If they have any common sense they are trying to build a program for high school success and aren't caught up in JH titles. You said it perfectly.

Saw a 4a school in around 2004 that had 110 seventh graders out and played a lot of kids both ways to win. By the time these kids were 10th graders their numbers were under 30.

Or you could try to have success in both and win titles in both, which is pretty fun.

SUGARTOWN

Some of y'all claim Jr. High titles? Do you hang banners and buy rings too?  :D

No just take the trophy home at the end of the year. Not a big deal when you haven't lost in 7 years.

Warren will be a tough match up for any of the 8-4A.
Dumas is another good Crew that should finish 2nd.
I believe Crossett is about to be a suprise this year and they will finally beat Hamburg.
Hamburg will be a good look to finish at least 4th.
Monticello will round out the 5th seed.

3-5 is a toss up with me right now.
Warren travels to Dumas this year so that might give the Bobcats an edge. I wonder if they'll schedule the Jacks for Homecoming again like they did two years ago when they thought Warren would be down after losing several 4yr players.

Sounds about right depends on if Crossett plays all year long and doesn't get in that stump. Dumas is getting better an better but I'd give Warren a 14 point win at least.
