.....yet lost the game.

400 yds is irrelevant if you lose.....ain't it?

Only to those with a football IQ of ZERO! Stats are important win or lose! I mean your getting ready for your next opponent, I think the fact that the wr your facing caught over 200 yards his last game even if they lost is important! Or you could do like that genius down in Eldorado and just have your safety play 25-30 yards off the ball and hope to make play!  ::)

gatecrasher

I don't know why he was even in there....

He's the same one that got burned deep against WC in September.....

bomberfootball#4

My point is number nine is your D 1 prospect. And on film Claude loves throwing him the fade. I believe our secondary is up to the job.

gatecrasher

...we have a solution to that problem if PB makes it to WMS.....

Someone else will be on him.....

Well I am sure he was doing what he was told cause that's where he kept lining up on nearly every down. I just haven't seen that strategy used like that in regular defense packages. Please let coach Reed run it again if we meet again. I think I can convince BB (not a 100% guarantee) to not stop throwing.

Well #9 is 6'-2" and our other wr's are 5'-10' and shorter so the fade route just seems to work better to #9. Our 4.3 guy is at 100% now so I wouldn't just worry about #9.

1st the pb's band will blowout mh's eardrums...then, pb will mercy rule by the end of the 2nd qtr. After that, pb 8th graders should get a chance to play.(Okay that last one was just sarcasm).

Pine Bluffs band may be loud.  but ive never thought of it as very good

gatecrasher

closetzebra

Yeah, MH you might want to rethink the band thing... Being mercy ruled will be bad enough, then add being shown up by the band = an extra long trip home.

Gate, you kill me how you keep bringing up the FIRST game of the season.  It aint about where you start its where you finish, and PB has improved in every aspect since that game.

bomberfootball#4

Mountain home hasn't been mercy ruled this year, we don't intend to start now

Like the song says, ther'es a first time for everything. If MH doesn't have any more depth than in the 06 championship game PB will wear them out on the field and the score board.MH plays hard but back then they had too many going both ways.

bomberfootball#4

We have a little more depth now and our kids are also in great shape this year

lookoutmh

About the only thing to say about this week is good luck Bombers! Pine Bluff is a good team that plays four quarters of football. If MH would ever learn to play all four quarters they might stand a better chance getting some respect. It wouldn't hurt for Coach Patrick to come up with a game plan that wasn't up the middle. MH has some talent but the coaches don't have enough vision to try something different!

Agreed, easy to be loud when your playing junior high music.

Are we talking marching bands or orchestra? We have a solid orchestra program. Otherwise I see no difference in the level of difficulty in playing something Jay-Z wrote vs. playing something Conway Twitty wrote. Only that one is played while dancing.

Bomber_Believer

I know this is a football thread, but MH's band doesnt get shown up by anyone.  I know the people from PB dont know much about the history or legacy of the MH band, but the bands motto says it all.  "We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence, then is not an act, but a habit."   Aristotle

but there's a huge difference between Jay-Z and March Grandiose.  You want real marching bands, go to Texas.

Notice that the post of PB band showing up MH are not coming from PB posters. I have no doubt that MH band is good at what it does. To me the comparisons of the two are misleading. If you like precision marching, flags lines, with a broadway musical type performance then MH is who you'll enjoy to watch no matter what PB does. If you like a more urban music with complicated dance moves performed while playing then you'll like PB no matter what MH does. Only difference is not one person from PB has posted one thing questioning the talent of MH Band. PB didn't choose their style of playing cause they can't march with precision and all that. We used to go to all sorts of marching contest and did OK but when it got to the point of which school had be biggest and most props in their 18 wheeler we backed out.

I am sure MH will put on a nice show Friday and fans of PB will appreciate their efforts be nice if they could return the favor.

Not that the picture of the uter on the helmet didn't say it all but classic a response. Only "real" marching bands are in Texas. How about getting UT some real uniforms! Those band outfits look like leftovers from a trailer park garrage sale!

I hope for MH, that PB's players and coaches are taking the game as serious. But hey, I know we would be happy if the band wouldn't play when we have the ball.   ::)

You can forget about that our band is going to play nearly none stop! I have noticed an effort to follow the inside the 20 rule but we haven't been consistent.

We haven't taken anyone lightly all year (6 wins 5 by mercy rule) so I can't see why we would wait until the playoffs to start!

One, I'm not from MH, just wondering how the team was thinking, two, I guess they did take their opponents serious in their four losses?  Also, if the school administrators don't take action to adhere to the AAA rule on playing in the red zone, the officials can issue USC's against them.

According to AAA that is not right. The ref should not have penalized them for the band playing in the redzone.

If you go to the AAA website and to Sportsmanship it IS stated as a rule that the BAnds can't play between the 20 yard lines or the refs can call an unsportsman like penalty. I will say this, when El Do played there, they never did play when we were in the red zone except when the last minute was ticking off. kinda scary having to go through metal detectors. If i was an administrator i would be embarrassed that my school has come to this!!

I would be embarrassed to post something as IF I knew what I was talking about when it's obvious I don't! First, PB has had those for years. Not because students but because our games are open to the PUBLIC some adults cause trouble and yes metal detectors are used to protect the students. No different than having to walk through the airport barefoot! I can't remember the last time any disturbance happen inside one our games. Here is the real kicker most games they don't even bring them out or have them turned on. It was done last week because ELDORADO was coming to town! Aint that something!
Second and this is from the AAA handbook on Sportsmanship 2009-2010 section 6 reads as follows:

6. SUPPORT GROUPS (BAND, Dance,
PEP, ETC.)
a. Arrange to share timeouts
b. Arrange in advance when to perform
so that each will have sufficient time
c. Bands are not to be used to disrupt
an opponent's game. At football
games bands and any component
thereof (e.g. drums), shall not play
when the opposing team is inside the
opponent's twenty-yard line moving
toward or away from their own goal.
d. No home team band, home team pep
band, home team junior high band, or
spirit group may sit on the visitors
side of the stadium or gymnasium.
e. Show respect for opposing group
f. Dress in school-approved uniforms
g. The use of institutionally-controlled
computerized sound systems
(including music) and institutionally
controlled artificial noisemakers shall
be restricted to pregame, halftime,
post game, after a score, and timeouts.
h. Act in a positive way and do not detract
from the contest in progress
i. Show respect for public property and
equipment

Nothing in there says anything about a penalty in fact on the website in which you failed to read it plainly says this rule is to be enforced by school adminstrators.

Maybe you should just stay on the outside looking in!

Outside_Looking_In

Ive been to more PB games than just the El Dorado one and they have been out at all those games too. All games are open to the public, moron, El Dorado's as well and we dont use them. And countless times buses have been broken into and cars. This has never happened at El Dorado because we know how to use our security. And the refs CAN enforce a penalty if they feel it necessary.

Dumb... look I've been going to PB games for decades I can tell you for a fact that yes we have them up most times they are not even on! Again we've had them for years I want to say since 9/11. Now as far as I know no cars or buses have been broken into INSIDE the stadium which has nothing to do with outside in the parking lots. The reason I mention open to the public was because you insinuated that the metal detectors are in place because of the students no it's because of people that are NOT students. You read the handbook and you still don't believe what you read. I just thought you were ignorant I see it's much deeper than that.

Let's not pretend that Eldorado is some nice little resort town! Last time I was in Eldorado at a basketball ball game I saw your security at work excorting some students acting a fool out of your gym!

Both towns suck.  Most do unless they are gated and at that point it's a whole new kind of suck.  Get over it and lets move back to what realy matters here the football the cheerleaders and the bands (and any other student group involved in the game).

Use your band as you see fit and lock your doors and turn on your alarm. They will break into your cars at PB. You should probably park in the front and not the back.

You East teams will go down one by one...Parkview may be the only winner tonight.....

The more South teams that remain, the harder it will be for us to win the championship......

my prediction was wrong looks like it will be 35-0 before half. not a good start for  the east in playoffs.
