This is one schedule I never thought I'd see lol

Instead of a warmup Springdale, Greenwood jumps right into things with back to back road games against the Fort Smith twins before hosting Alma.
Looks like at worst 2-1 noncon.

Texarkana as a conference opener I like. They won't be a pushover but will give the Dogs a good tune up game to work out any issues or jitters before heading to the always dangerous Eldorado team. I remember gate mentioning the Cats are a couple years away from dominance. So maybe this year will be a breeze
Siloam next I like. If we have any injuries or rough patches to fix, we can rest our starters for 2 and a half quarters.
At worst we are 4-2, 2-1 at this point

Russellville I enjoy watching us play. Yea we stomp them but they always have a few play makers and never stop til the final buzzer.
Benton will be a good one. Didnt expect the big win margin last season. Could be another. I like having them home since they'll be out for revenge.
Sheridan looks to be another 2 quarters and done for our starters.
Lake Hamilton looks to be finishing the regular season against the Bulldogs.

So at absolute worst it looks 7-3. I'm seeing probably 8-2.
Well see what the offseason brings.

IMO I think Eldo week 10 would be awesome and turn into a good rivalry since it looks to be more often than not those 2 vying for the conference title.

Just looking at the schedule makes my head hurt. It's gone take some getting used to, but dude...how does the AAA justify PB playing in the East?

I saw the mileage charts and they had no choice but to go with the conferences they decided upon. As crazy as Siloam Springs and El Dorado being in the same conference is, the other options made less sense as a whole.  It is the schools that voted for this, and it is only for football.

Agree, that's a tough start for the Zebras. They could actually go 1-2 in non conference play but they'll do well in the 6A East.

If you go to Conf-2A page and click on Week 2 schedule, it has the exclamation point saying it's a conference game. It's against a conference opponent, but the game that will count in the conference standings is the 10/28 game against Western Yell County (Week 9)

There is no other way. Up until this year the 6A and 7A combined their schedules for regular season play which meant 6A Siloam Springs had to play a 7A conference slate which is ridiculous. They voted to split them this year and I'd bet that Siloam Springs won't be bothered a bit by having to travel some to play all 6A schools.

Playing a 7A slate isn't that bad. Siloam Springs needs to man up and get some work done. The SS Panthers need to get out of Benton County as much as possible. They are a 6A school and were playing against all 7A West schools. That 7A West is by far the toughest 7A conference in the state so I can certainly understand their frustration.

Guess they got tired of seeing the 6A South sending 3 to 4 teams (Zebras, El Dorado, Benton or Texarkana) to the playoffs each year to play greenwood for the championship. If anything it will hurt da Z's come playoff time since the 6A East is so soft.
