In the early 2000's warren had 3 sec caliber players and couldn't win state so 2 who may or may not be definitely won't
2006 their junior season. They had 4 receivers that eventually committed to Sec schools. Lost state to Nashville. You can have all the skill in the world. But if you can't win at the line of scrimmage it doesn't matter.

The Colts win and lose as a team.  Those two skills guys y'all are talking about has been blessed with a great O-line their entire high school career.  Go back and listen to some of # 1 and #3 interviews and listen to how they praise their " Big O Line".

Thetruth11

Rivercrest will more than likely win, but fountain lake won't make it easy on em. I bet its close for at least the first half, then one of the two, probably RC, will run away with it.

redandgray

I just want a Rivercrest win...by 1 or by 30...win and advance.

bootlegger

I agree redandgrey don't worry about the points just advance is what's important.

Ghost of Colts52

Rivercrest is your 4A state champion. You can call the playoffs off if you want. Nobody will stop them. Not Dumas, not Robinson, and definitely not Warren or Nashville. Not even going to mention bauxite. Because they might not even make the QF

Where you get your facts. Warren defeated Crest 38-28 in the 2002 State finals yep I was there. Warren was led by Arkansas only All American Brett Smith (Tennessee) and Rashon Fellows (Tennessee) try again. 🤣😂💯🏈👢

Only 51 posts, water boy?  You'll learn after a few hundred more tries.

They had more than 2 sec players on that team btw. And i believe he is talking about the 2006 Warren team that lost to Nashville in the title game.

Quit reaching. Most times I just knock my opponent out. Hard to counter punch when unconscious.

Fountain Lake has but rivercrest has not.

Don't know anything about Fountain Lake but the 4A-3 is weak top to bottom and have been for a few years now. 9 times out of 10 the best 4A-3 team is a 4th or 5th seed in most other conferences. I will give props to Rivercrest because they truly are the best team in NEA.... I do not consider Wynne or Batesville to be NEA. Gosnell could be competitive outside of NEA if they had depth but seems like their numbers continue to decline since the fall of 2012 season. Lack of depth will always keep Gosnell out of a deep playoff run.
Trumann and Westside are improving but do not have near the number of athletic players that it would take to compete outside of NEA with the exception of a match up against a 4th or 5th seed.

I grew up in and played for Gosnell and am now in coaching. I've seen this first hand, if I were betting on an NEA school to have a chance I would put all my money on Rivercrest. (as much as that pains me to say...)

TrenchHogs

After saying that, I believe Crest will handle business in round 1.

Rivercrest - 35
Fountain Lake - 14

This game will be featured on 92.9 KVRE FM in Central Arkansas and streamed online at www.kvre.com. Good luck to both teams this week!

I believe so

Coltfan2005

You know, having to create two different "identities" for yourself, just so you could have someone to agree with you is just a little bit weird. I'm sure if you would move out of your Mom's house, stop stalking, and maybe get a job on your own merits...you could make at least one friend.

Fountain Lake's losses were against four very good teams.  Rivercrest has an easy offense to figure out, just have to put 9 men in the box and hope to stop it. Could be interesting game.

Coltfan2005

you put 9 men in a box against Rivercrest and you are going to lose. Very few teams in the 4A can do that and beat the Colt's speed to the outside.

If you don't put nine men in the box, you will also lose.

Colt offense has only been stopped once all year. Have to smother the line, and, hope your linebackers can cover the outside. Either way, very tough task.

And that loss was in bad weather conditions. Supposed to be dry Friday night.

Yep, those Colt sure know how to run. Tiring for a defense to take that pounding every play.

I sort of agree with this, I consider Wynne to be NEA. I look for consistency when I look at a team over several years to determine if they are a program. I will say that in NEA most teams are not very consistent and most struggle come playoff time. But the teams that even in their down years you can expect a tough game are the teams with tradition. RC has been successful since the 80s, Wynne has been as well. Newport can have the same arguement too. Osceola had a chance to win 4 state titles in the 90s and struggled some after but are back to winning now with a new coach. After those teams listed most NEA schools are more concerned with basketball season than football.

If you look at the more consistent programs as far as success goes, it isn't hard to see that they are competitive in every sport....not just football. Seems maybe the NEA is on that "One sport specialist" train.

Cobras have to slow down the Colts' run. Nobody has really done that all year.

I think FL has improved as the season went along.  The big win at HHG helped against running teams.
