What is the greatest team for each school and who would have won head to head?

~WPS~

Save this one for the offseason. Because it's going to be good. Lol

1982 Ricebirds edge out 2002 Ricebirds IMO. But I guess a case could be made for the 2002 team, different eras, different styles, hard to compare. The '82 defense was the best, but the '02 offense was more high scoring than '82.

hawgfan15

This is ridiculous. The back and forth over meaningless topics is taking away from what is one of the best playoffs this classification has had in a long time. Save the BS for the offseason and let's all enjoy a great playoff season.

~WPS~

Well to be fair it is the offseason for Stuttgart.

Honestly, I want to see our '96 team match up against ANY of your best, that was the year we had a QB who broke all the records, a RB who broke all the records and ALMOST all of those records are still intact 18+ years later...

polksalet

I've never seen a hs db I thought could match up with Washington.

I've seen several that would've possibly slowed him down, but NEVER stopped him from going for 100+ yards EVERY game.

Yep, 25-21. I remember that game, Warren intercepted a Chris Lammers pass in the end zone on the last play after scoring the go ahead TD late in the game. The Birds got on a roll later that year and lost to Wynne and DeAngelo Williams in the finals 34-33.

Slade Camp was a stud back in the day. A lot of very good receivers on the field that night

Yes he was. He had 406 yards receiving in that final loss to Wynne.

What was the good WR for Warren's name? I believe it began with an A?

Warren had a lot of very good receivers on that team. Don't believe any of their names began with an A though.

What was the one who went to tenessee?

Bret smith and Roshaun fellows went to Tennessee. Ricardo Kemp also went to Tennessee but was a freshman on the 2001 title team

I was thinking it was Avery or something like that. Oh well, that was a long time ago, lol.

AJ Avery graduated with me in 2006. He is the reason we beat you guys in a very good game in 2005. He took the ball out of your cornerbacks hands on a 4th down play that eventually led to the winning touchdown against the ricebirds.

In 1941 Nashville was undefeated and only gave up 6 points the entire year. In 1942 they were undefeated but gave up 26 points for the year. In a span 1940 through 1942 they had 21 shut outs.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. Our db Joe Bryant mistimed his jump and Avery made catch.

Me and Joe were good friends in college. Everyday I gave him a hard time about that game.
