Treylon Burks at Warren is the top player in the state regardless of classification

Other great players:
-Ladarrius Bishop of Ashdown
-Drew Winn of Pea Ridge
-Zion Hatley of Arkadelphia
-Caezar Warren of Robinson
-Detravion Green of Ashdown

I think Caezar Warren would be a fantastic LB. I wish he could get on at Arkansas. He seems like a Sam "Butu" type player or Martrell Spaight type player.

Agree, I think Spaight is a very nice comparison... and will have to take a similar route by going JUCO. Hope he can have the same success.

Austin Obrien would need to be in this comversaion led the 1-4a in total rushing (with only 11 games) was voted 1-4a back if the yr holds the record at Gravette for single season rushing record

I get to see Burks for the first time Saturday in person. His highlights don't disappoint. He could possibly be best player to come out of this state since Basil Shabazz from Pine Bluff in the 90's.

I thought I would never say the day that Warren would have a kid better than Bret Smith....but I feel the day has come.

Difference in Shabazz and Burks.....one does fantastic in school and the other one didn't.......

Chad Morris better plant someone in Warren, AR and Earle, AR.

Does Noland return kickoffs, punt returns for touchdowns?

Does he make interceptions and take them for pick 6's?

Does he play LB, QB, and WR?

Does he have rushing touchdowns and receiving touchdowns?

Noland is good and I can't wait to see him in Hog red......but #13 is a junior and is putting up just as good if not better numbers as the kid in GW.

If Burks stays healthy, he will be very special. The really special players make everything look so easy that you almost wonder why they are soo good watching them. He is that type. The kid just doesn't seem to have any wasted motions on the football field.

I hope he wastes a few motions on Saturday. Lol

Noland doesn't have to play defense, return kicks, reciever.  He plays at 6A Greenwood.  They have other great players also.  In 4A you have to use your best kids on both sides of the ball.  Happens everywhere.  Both are great players.  Burks is just a man among boys in his classification.  Good luck Warren this week.

Well, we know where your bias lies. I have absolutely no ties to Warren or or Burks, so my comments are strictly based on what I see. Noland is a very talented player as well, just not Burks type all around.

And BTW, Arkadelphia does not have a two way player and they will be playing for a state title this weekend.

We have also had seasons where we didn't have two way players. Set offense. Set defense.

Things have changed over the past couple of weeks though. Our best players will be on the field at all times.

We haven't had two way players for 5/6 years now. Sometimes I wish we did; like the last time we played Warren.

I'm just saying that if Burks were playing against GW, PA, Bentonville, NLR, that he couldn't dominate the entire game like he does for Warren.  He would probably be the best player on the field though.

I know it remains to be seen, but I think Burks will dominate even on SEC level. Noland may as well, possibly football and baseball for him.

Their is a reason he is a top 50 player in the country. He is an SEC player at multiple positions. And in fact if he concentrated on just playing qb no doubt in my mind he could play it at the Division 1 level. He is a once in a generation talent regardless of what classification or state he is playing in.

Hes got the arm for it. Quick and snappy with no effort.  Could probably make a Vince Young type of qb with the work.

I believe there is a lot of talented kids over looked because of what school they go too.  A lot of school don't put all the stats in either.
Prime example....Jacob Bremmon from Heber Springs leads the state in interceptions(13).  He played both sides of the ball and special teams.  He has over 1300 receiving yards but those stats where never entered.  He also has 10 TD 3 from kickoff return.  I'm not even sure how many solo tackles he has because defense stats aren't kept.
I'm sure there are several other players just like Jacob who are over looked because stats aren't in.

Burks has 15 touchdowns in the 4 playoff games so far with one left... last year in 15
Games he had 17 totaltouchdowns. If my math is correct he is at 39 touchdowns total this season. Which has to be close to single season record for a Warren player.

Talked to him tonight. There's a good chance that happens. We'll see how the last two months go before NSD in February

If he does, you'll be getting a good one.

4A has a lot of talent that's for sure!!

He wasn't even close to being the best player on the field against Gosnell

Pea Ridge player, would work great in the Arkansas offensive system now!

One game doesn't mean he didn't have a good season or isn't talented.  Gosnell did a great job of keeping the ball away from him.  Which was smart on their part.  When he did get the ball he always made a 1st down.  Gosenll only passed the ball a few times and it was always away from him.  Like I said one game doesn't take away all he did this season.

Burks today..
124 rushing yards
5 catches 188 yards
4 tds
18 tackles
1 interception
1 sack
The good thing about it was Chad Morris had a front row seat to the best show in all of Arkansas. His best play of the game was on his punt where two arky guys were trying to block him he throws them off and hammers the returner.

I agree!  Home-boys seem to have more pride in the Razorbacks than out-of-state athletes.  They call the Hogs a little louder, want to win a little more, and play till the last whistle sounds a little better.  Don't get me wrong, we need out-of-state athletes, and they become Hogs, but I just prefer to have home-boys lined up when it's 4th and goal at the 1 on defense with 2 seconds left and leading by 4 points.  Man, after what I saw yesterday, I hope we get Burks!

My response was well Henry only had 86 yards against warren a couple years ago. Then i said he must not be able to see talent. Everyone catch up. And it remains to be seen what Burks does in college. He still has another year in high school.

Classification doesn't matter it's all about if a kid's talent can translate on to the field play in the SEC. There is no exact science. Yes it is rare that a kid from a smaller high school go to college and dominate in a P-5 conference. But if the criteria for signing a kid is that he be able to dominate in the SEC...then Arkansas needs to switch to the Southland Conference! The ONLY way for the foreseeable future that Arkansas will be able to compete is to take as many reasonably talented kids as they can and make them into to solid college players with some developing into the NFL.

IF the mighty 7A produced the talent like Warren has...that being said Burks is a talent we must have personally I can see him on defense or I can see him as young Dez Bryant at WR! He has the talent to do it regardless of classification.

If I could take a moment to give some HOGS some love, who are the best linemen in 4A?

I think Gentry has a kid that could turn into something special. Kerlose Ruzek pushed two 3-year starters at offensive tackle as a sophomore this year and relieved them during games.

Dillion Pickens from Waldron was a pretty good tackle this year. Sealed the edge very well and didn't get beat. Had several pancake blocks and did his job pretty well. Also Dardanelle had a big right tackle who did well out in space for how big he was. Pretty sure his name was Kneeland.

I know it remains to be seen, but I think Burks will dominate even on SEC level. Noland may as well, possibly football and baseball for him.

Dominate?

He has the potential.  Now whether that materializes depends a lot on how he is used on offense, special teams, or even defense.  He still has another year of growth and development before even getting to the D1 level.  He forces EVERY opponent to account for him on every play and he still scored around 45 tds this past year.

You can be dominant just by being on the field and forcing your opponent to completely adjust their normal defensive strategy, kicking strategy, or offensive strategy.  Doesn't always show up in stats.  His presence may cause others to shine due to opponents focusing on him instead.  His stats for this year speak for themselves.  I expect a similar result next year too.  You saw his strength in throwing the blockers off on the punt return and leveling the runner.  You saw how many it took time after time to bring him down.  The kid is just special, whether he is playing for Warren or any other team.

I agree the kid is a great talent.  But it's comical to see you grown men drooling at the mouth and saying this kid can dominate in the SEC.  Look, he may do great things at the next level.  Who knows.  But please stop with the "dominate the SEC" talk.  Please.

Not sure if he will dominate or not. But one thing is for sure.. he has the size, physicality, and knowledge of the game to be very successful.

Trust me.. i believe he will be very successful at the next level. He just seems to have the it factor. But nothing is a given at the SEC level or any other big time conference he decides to play in.

I agree.  So much more goes into being great at the college level.  It's not just talent.   i.e. Michael Dyer

Not that is really matters, but 247 Sports now has Hudson Henry ranked as the #1 player in Arkansas in the 2019 class and #33 overall. Burks is #2 and #38.

That being said, Burks was still the most dominant player in 4A this year.

Makes you wonder what causes people to drop or move up. After the season Burks had hard to see how someone this week could move above him in the state. Lol

I think those ranking are more projections for college than based on what they've done for the field in high school. The Hogs need both for sure.

I don't know if Burks or Henry will be big time in college much less the SEC. IF they come to Arkansas I hope so but lots of big time players in high school don't pan out in college.  Look up the biggest bust in college football, you may recognize a few names. The fans in Arkansas are going to have to look at talent with a more critical eye if we are going to get where we want to go.

People must understand that some kids use that scholarship for free education, and I don't blame them. Do enough to stay on the team, because everyone do not have NFL dreams. It's easy to not care anymore once you get to college because it's a business.

Chase Duncan from Pea Ridge is an absolute monster. Has hit about 3 threes from WAY downtown. I'm talking downtown Pea Ridge. This man is a force to be reckoned with. Lets not forget about the 300 lb bench max and the 450 lb Squat max. Watch out for this one! A college steal for sure

Arkadelphia has a few standouts that will be seniors this upcoming season, here are two that have posted about getting offers:

Victor Tademy. He has several D1 offers; Eastern Illinois, Indiana State University and Army West Point.

Zion Hatley. He received an offer from UCA.

I'm interested to see if they can get a Razorback offer, that would be cool (to me).

How about the QB from Arkadelphia? The Sophomore. Watched him beat up on us a couple of times now (once in jr high) and there's no doubt he's the real deal.
