Friday nights win against Sheridan was very dominant. Almost at the mercy rule with 10 minutes left in the second quarter was something I've not seen in a long time. I wasn't happy with the poor sportsmanship shown after the interception, but I think that kid plays with a ton of emotion and let his emotions get the better of him. I thought Jones was gonna have a stroke on the sidelines he was so angry. I was proud of Sheridan, they never stopped playing hard. I can't imagine driving that far and getting drummed like that. They showed class and character in my book.
As for Lake Hamilton..........they surprised me by beating Benton. Benton must really be beat up physically and emotionally. They will be hyped up from a 3 win streak and the win against Benton, and thinking they are the Giant Killer. Greenwood has to smack them in the mouth quickly and put them out of their misery like they did Sheridan. If not, who knows, they might hang around and make a game of it.
I'm predicting: Greenwood 42 Lake Hamilton 10
I really thought Benton would handle LH, clearly Benton is beat up and LH has been showing some improvement. I did not go to the Sheridan game because it went about like I expected. So, I have no idea if GW got much out of it other than lots of kids got to play which is a good thing. Going for the 5th perfect season in 6 years is a nice accomplishment. More importantly GW marks off it's second check mark which is to win conference...only one more check mark to go.
My guess on GW and LH is GW takes care of business improves to 10-0 with another stingy defensive performance hopefully....they are averaging giving up right around 11.4 pts per game. LH is playing to improve or maintain its seeding, so they will have some tricks up their sleeves.
I think maybe only Pine Bluff can hang with the Bulldogs this year. Rick Jones has built a machine there.

Crazy, not one LH post and it's at 2 pages with mostly fighting and name-calling. ZD, Zebrafan, urban legend, are are all good posters that talk about their team and not disrespecting others. You cannot lump all them in with a bad apple anymore than you can most of the GW fans the same way. Gw/PB is tied 2-2 with all 4 match-ups being well contested. If both make it again this year to meet other, I would expect nothing less than the same.
Now, back on LH, I hope. Perhaps, Lanny has some thoughts since he is a LH alum.

I agree with Pr8hd. If/when Greenwood and Pine Bluff meet I don't see any reason why it won't be another classic and the winner wins by only a handful of points. And it'll be for all the marbles again at WM for the third time of the 4 meetings.
But don't wanna get too far ahead. Pine Bluff will still possibly see an improved Eldo team and Greenwood will most likely have to host West Memphis. Some good games coming up.

If not being able to do that makes it too boring on here...there are other social media outlets that will indulge that kind of thing. You can post a video killing someone on FB! I'm sure they'll let you start a page to talk trash about your opponent without fear of reprisal.

"Open" means that we have the freedom to express our opinions about our teams. "Open" means that everything that is posted isn't censored. There are rules and guidelines that we all agree to before joining FF. Within those guidelines we have the "OPENness" to express our opinions.

It doesn't look like this year will be any different or break that streak. Fortunate to have the stability, talent and Coaching that has helped make them the program that they are. Every year, it seems they have a player that can step into another spot. I'm interested to see them play at WMS.

As long as Jones is there, they are going to be pretty consistent at winning, may not extend that streak every year, but they seem to be able to reload. I know their 7th and 8th grade teams went unbeaten and think the 9th grade team lost 1 game by 1 pt. There are some talented kids in those groups. So, those guys just take the next man up approach.
Obviously, Jr high results mean very little, but generally CRJ and staff only make those kids better when they get to varsity level. CRJ's going to eclipse 300 wins next year and winning percentage at GW is like 85-86% in his tenure. It's very impressive and GW is very fortunate to have had his services and enjoyed the success they have had.
It's been a fun ride, and would like it to last a few years longer selfishly to get my other boy thru under him and that program.

No matter how anyone feels about Greenwood, you can't deny that the Bulldogs are the epitome of a true high school program. You've gotta give credit where credit is due. They'll have talent drop offs here and there because that's what happens in cycles sometimes, but they've been able to make kids better and play to their best year in and year out. That's admirable man, no matter how anyone spins it.
Greenwood has been very blessed with football success since the turn of the new millennium. And the fans love every minute lol.
Football as well as all sports comes and goes in cycles. Greenwood will not be on top of the mountain forever. But we will enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts!

So in the 6 years Greenwood has been in 6A we have not lost a 6A regular season game. The 4 6A games we have lost have all been in the playoffs.

+1 Thanks for the props. I was lucky enough to have two boys go through his system. His outlook on life is worth more than anything he teaches on the field (although they do overlap;)

2013 - 12-1 overall - State Semi-Finalists - 3-0 in regular season vs. 6A teams.
2014 - 7-4 overall - State Quarterfinalists - 3-0 in regular season vs. 6A teams.
2015 - 12-1 overall - State Runner-Ups - 3-0 in regular season vs. 6A teams.
2016 - 12-1 overall - State Runner-Ups - 7-0 in regular season vs. 6A teams.
2017 (so far) - 10-0 overall - ?? - 7-0 in regular season vs. 6A teams.
Closest 6A victory? 3 point win vs eventual state champs Russellville last year.
26-0 vs. 6A teams in regular season.
